Dear Beth, I only discovered your fabulous channel a few weeks ago, and I'm hooked. You have such a lovely way of presenting your work that I can follow and make your wonderful clothes myself.
In 1972 I was 13, and considered waaay too old for dolls 😕. Then along came children. I couldn't even hide my dolly love through my daughter as she wasn't a dolly girl 😯.

Hi Beth. Congratulations on reaching this milestone! I’m a 67 year old doll collector, facing that era of life when one must begin to scale down and let go of possessions. But when I looked at my dolls, wondering how in the world I could part with any of them, I thought, “Nope, I can’t bear it.” So now I’m adding to my little doll family instead! I have mostly collected antique and older vintage dolls, but with a few representative iconic dolls of the more modern era-a Skipper and Barbie from my childhood, a Tonner ballerina, a Sasha, a tiny Lati BJD, and a few other legends. I’ve never had a Blythe, but the time has come. I only discovered your channel a week ago, and since then I've been immersing in your videos, astonished by your creativity and skill. I never told you that in the 90's I created a Magic Mushroom for a Kathie Kruse photo contest that I did not win. I created the bottom of the mushroom with two Quaker Oats long tubular tubs and taped them together and then took newspaper wadded it up and made the bump that the mushroom has on the stem part. I also for the top mushroom part took a old umbrella, because the first attempt with a blow up balloon didn't work and it was too heavy with all the paper mache on it. I let it all dry and took it off the shape and folded the underside under the top part and glued it onto my base. I added rocks in the base because it was over 2 feet high. I started painting it with acrylic paints after it was all dried which took a very long time because I used wallpaper paste and had my newspaper in that. I painted and shaded the base and even used some moss to glue at the bottom to make it look like I came out of the forest. After it was all dried and I was satisfied I took my Kathie Kruse dolls outside and the Magic Mushroom and put them on our courtyard lawn and took some fake flowers and stuck them in the ground here and there and sat my dolls backs against the base of the mushroom and had a very good friend who was a photographer take photos of it and I was so happy. I wish I could show you photos, but I have not been able to find them. I got the idea from a German card from long ago with the same concept a huge Magic Mushroom and two little German children sitting backed up against the stem in the Forest. Maybe you can make one of your own one day with Blythe Dolls. Wouldn't that be so much fun? I don't even have the Magic Mushroom anymore because my son borrowed it for a Peter Pan play at school and he caught the kids in his play throwing it around and it busted open. I was so heartbroken. I worked so very hard on that project for myself because I love Mushrooms so much it tore me up inside. You have a Very Magical Mushroom Day Beth! Love Ya!

That reminds me, I have an old photo somewhere of myself dressed as an elf sitting on a mushroom for an easter competition, my mum made the costume and had made little fake legs, as if I'm sitting on top of the mushroom cap, and my real legs inside the mushroom stem! That’s a super cute lil doll customization. I want her because I love mushrooms lol but I am sure there are others that are more worthy. I just got into dolls and I don’t have any, only the ones I am trying to customize but I’m not sure how they will come out.
