@@FretboardDiaries I'll probably be replacing the tuners at the least. The Grover tuners on my Damien Elite 7 hold extremely well and I was glad they came stock. Though it Is an older guitar it's still beautiful and holds tuning quite well. Gonna put some Fishmans in both eventually. Tat or some Duncans.
@@55Ignis you know, it’s funny you say that… I’ve put about 50 hours in on the guitar since this video and I’d say the tuners are probably the weak point… Completely agree that a tuner upgrade (locking for me) would be Awesome! I’ll probably do that mod at some point and make a video on it. I’m gonna keep the pickups for now because being passive, they have a distinct sound and I’m kinda digging it… We’ll see, but overall, I’m super happy with the fit and finish of this guitar… Particularly after I did the truss rod adjustment and got the fret buzz worked out.. 👍 🤘🎸
The fret buzz at that particular location is easily solved... Slight trust rod adjustment to get the proper neck relief, and I would bet that would be fit as a fiddle.
Yeah it was a pretty simple truss rod adjustment… It was clear that it was untouched from the factory, and I noticed in the reviews from Musicians Friend’s website, that it was a pretty common among that model. Simple enough fix 🤘🎸
I’m happy with the apocalypse pickups, they sound a lot like DiMarzios and are conducive to my playing style. What I do need to upgrade/fix is that there is a bad pot, goes in and out, so that needs to be fixed. From other reviews I’ve seen of this guitar, that’s common. I may also try a different nut, to see if I can get the action a tad lower, but outside of that, those are the only two changes I plan to make. Bridge is fine, tuners are solid (okay maybe I’ll switch to locking tuners at some point just out of preference 😂)… What I really love about this guitar is the over feel and finish… Fretwork is fantastic. The two issues were the bad pot, and out of the box setup was terrible. Both of these issues are mentioned in multiple reviews on the musicians Friend website, so I think it’s safe to say it’s common… I’ll try to get a full review done soon, life’s been a little hectic lately but settling down so I’ll try to make it happen.
@@FretboardDiaries ah yeah my volume pot goes to zero just before being maxed out and a bit scratchy. Loving the guitar though I pick it up every day and play for a couple hours. Hope your doing well now and things are getting better for you.
@@joshuam1329 Doing well Yes Sir! Finally hit 1000 subs and should have some more time to make content coming up… I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the guitar, it’s becoming one of my favs as well.. Hope all is well with you also 👍 🤘🎸
Hey Ashley great presentation pal your video game is really good, and that a awesome looking guitar for sure. It’s Paul BTW from the Facebook group. I gave you a sub and will watch a few vids pal help you along. Most likely watch more your channel is on point, mine wavers lol I always doing one thing then another.
Hey thanks man, I subbed to your channel when I saw guitars… 😂 I didn’t have a moment to dive to deep into your channel, I’m actually shooting now… haha, but I’m gonna check it out later. It’s funny you do drones because I want one but haven’t figured out a way to incorporate it into my channel to justify it… 😂
🤔 I’m not sure… Schecter lists it as a Poplar Burl… One thing I’ve noticed, some of these tops don’t look very good, and some look amazing. Seems like it’s the luck of the draw, so I feel like I got lucky. If I were purchasing one of these again, I’d want to see the one I’m actually getting before buying it…
My advice would be to play both before purchasing... and play the actual guitar you're going to buy. They both have beautiful finishes so just buy the one that plays and feels the best to you... LTD are great guitars also so you won't go wrong with either of them, Best of Luck!
So to my knowledge the CR-6 is exclusive to Guitar Center and Musicians Friend and furthermore, this color is exclusive to Musicians Friend only… That could have changed, but I’m fairly certain it’s only available from those two dealers

Beautiful guitar! Love the colors. 👍
Thank you! Love the Burl Top… 🤩
Played it a couple of times at GC and was impressed by the neck, sound, and overall experience. I'm even thinking of buying one
Thanks for the video
The overall finish and feel on this guitar are fantastic! You won’t be disappointed. Thanks for watching 🤘🎸
Just traded some gear for this beauty drop dead gorgeous guitar and plays great
Some of the Burl tops I’ve seen on these guitars are really beautiful… The other colors look great as well… 🤘🎸
I've always liked Schecter. They always hold low tunings awesome and just seem to be high quality even at the lower models like the Omen.
Agreed! Neck is super fast too! Just overall great playability. It’s a really well rounded guitar. For the price you can’t beat it…

Just traded my acoustic yamaha for this!
Well that’s certainly going to the opposite end of the spectrum haha… Seriously though, when setup right, this is really a killer guitar 🤘🎸
Is there anything you would upgrade on this guitar after having it for a few months?
