I don't think I've ever seen this feeling so accurately portrayed. A room full of friendly people having a great time, you know you'd be happily welcomed into any circle you choose to enter, but you still don't feel invited. So, you glance around for a lifeline, and upon failing to find one, you cash in your social chips, cut your losses, and leave.
If it wasn't for Molly's Bf she'd have definitely asked Sherlock to dance with him. Also I kinda hate John here, he simply said go away to Sherlock. I know he needs some space but he is selfish (sometimes)
I argue it’s the last great episode of the series. It was a great character driven story that balanced the humor, mystery, and pathos on just the right tightrope. It somehow took the problems plaguing the later seasons and turned them on their head by having a more narrow focus. And it helps that is some of the best acting the cast had done in the show, especially Benedict’s monologues.
@@tbass94It was fine, but I didn't enjoy it as much. I'm sure that's colored by the fact that I wasn't crazy about season 4 overall (which I'm sure a lot of people agree).

Sherlock glancing around for Janine...one small acquaintance he made that day...maybe hoping she'd dance with him....breaks my heart into pieces

1 - Irene Adler loosing the game scene
2 - This Ending
Ok, I admit it. The ending of this episode shows the writers still had some stuff left in the tank.
