I have the older Ti Riv n what can I say knife design dream come true. Love that knife and I prefer liner locks especially on a knife this small. I will have the micarta : )
I got myself one of these for Black Friday. I always loved the CRKT Pilar design but it's not great for lefties. Really excited about the liner lock in this one.
I have the brass version and it is heavy; however, if it gets windy, the Riv can hold your tent down in a pinch. I would not buy the brass version but would be interested in a carbon fiber version. Cheers.
I got the brass LL in today and my detent was trash. Not sure if I got a lemon, but I can’t deploy the flipper for my life, unless I use wrist. Not enough pressure build on the detent. Asked for a return. I previously had a reate built one way back when and it was flawless.
I love GM designs! Bit every one I've gotten has like 1 thing that's just off. Ti Trifecta is my favorite, one of my favorite knives ever, everything is perfect BUT the blade just won't perfectly center. Still, that thing is like butter. The Riv looks very similar, just smaller yet. But man, if GM can get consistency down, their designs are fire. Some of the best ergos ever.
Most of the Italian knives I've tried haven't had the greatest lock bar access. Currently only own the ace grand and it was easy to sand the micarta back a bit.
@@RobertGadflythis knife is not made in china. The liner lock is made in Italy. The original framelock Riv was made in China and was actually much better, so unless it is a political concern, I would not be upset about chinese knives assuming you buy from a reputable brand. China now makes the best quality knives.

Clean it and reassemble. Switch to ceramic bearings if possible
I bought the RIV LL in brass and the lock failed within 3 days. I had to return it.
