Same…I’m stuck with Kaine and Warner in Virginia, no matter how I vote. Entrenched dems so close to the federal govt in Virginia, lots of people employed by feds directly or through contracting and grant funding. So they won’t vote against their bread and butter. Certain things have "always been done this way," like supporting a specific political party, so they just do what's expected and complain about things later. It's like going to the diner on the corner that has the worst coffee in town. They KNOW that there are plenty of places that serve much better coffee, but that would require them to break out of their long-established rut. Rather than changing anything, they do what they've always done, and then gripe about it.

Harriet Hageman is pretty much the smartest person in congress at the moment. There are number of people I do think are very good in congress but in terms of being able to get to the crux of the matter she is as good as they come. I am very glad indeed that congress has her.
