Your "shorts" are entertaining as well as informative. They're like a yummy snack. I like your long lectures for their depth, even though they require longer periods of paying close attention, if they're to be understood. Thank you for science knowledge well communicated.
Just saw this, Wilmer. I appreciate the feedback, thank you. I’m trying to make a difference, luckily there are people like you who care. Thank you for that.
Basically a lack of sleep, a lack of exercise especially a lack of cardio and strength training, consuming soy and cruciferous vegetables that block iodine, a lack of fibre, potassium and vitamin c and too much meat can slow ur metabolism
I always hear about how having a cold room is good for you, leads to more brown fat, deeper sleep, etc, but every time I’ve tried setting a room to the temperatures recommended in studies I literally cannot sleep. Maybe it’s that I grew up in a very hot and humid tropical environment where the temperatures are seldom below 75F, but it has always perplexed me
Refined carbohydrates do not slow down methabolism directly. But you tend to overeat, since they have less fiber and thus are less satiating. And here comes the insulin: If you get too much sugar to quickly, your blood glucose mght peak and then fall down quickly even down to hypoglycemia, and you crave something sweet to fix that. But that usually happens with sodas or very sweet desserts.
ok now I'm gonna need you to use your "killing" voice and do a "I'm Batman" but instead it's "I'm Nicolas Verhoeven", and then instead of having you yell "WHERE IS SHE" you'd yell "WHERE'S THE DATA", OK random Monday morning imagination, I'm done, ty for video as always Nic
Hi, nice research as usual. What you would suggest for gaining weight when stressed out, and to do it fairly healthy?(not end your existence prematurely:))?
"Managing stress"? How? By leaving job and move to Montana woods? What about bears? "Sleep habits"? I want to sleep but the pain in the body keep me awake. In short - you need to be healthy from the start and then you can try to keep it.
Meditation might be an accessible way to start managing stress? Sorry to hear about your pain, but just focus on sleep hygiene, and trying to sleep when you can.
Personally, I can't see how such a broad brush can be painted, everybody is different in their metabolism, and i don't care what the studies say. I eat raw grass fed dairy, whole grains, and a variety of organic food, and my metabolism is just fine, in terms of weight gain, diabetes, etc., etc. We all could do better, but frankly I am tired of these diet gurus telling everyone what to eat, when they know nothing about the individual, and what is best for them. If this channel is just going to beat the keto drum, i won't be watching, there is already too much of that on YT. And, frankly, I don't see too many of these keto people knocking it out of the park. Just my opinion, but when I grew up, people moved there damned bodies, and carbs didn't make them fat, so riddle me this batman, what should change, the diet or maybe the 'bad habits' of sticking our heads in computers and cell phones, and 'not' burning off the carbs we consume. Fuel in, energy out, if you burn it, that is the key to me.
@@sonyapost8557 I've watched several of them. Sometimes he is spot on, and others he doesn't reflect everything that needs to be said. He's good, but keto is fine as a one off, not a lifestyle, there are implications he doesn't understand.
@@birage9885it is a useful tool. Is it sustainable long term, no I highly doubt it. As a diet. As a metabolic state? Sure. Intermittent metabolic switching seems to be key there. I and many others are able to maintain a state of ketosis even with the introduction of carbs to the point of this original comment. Through exercise and movement. Still it varies to the individual and the specific situation. I can eat more carbs and achieve ketosis if my activity level remains high. I can eat less carbs and achieve ketosis if my activity level is lower. And then, I can achieve ketosis through a ketogenic diet if my activity is limited, I’m recovering, or trying to shred fat. None of that matters honestly besides some context. The point is understanding how to achieve and balance the bodies metabolic states (glycolysis and ketosis). I think at this point everyone is familiar with carb burning to some degree, and view carbs as the bodies main energy source. Learning that the body has multiple pathways to energy production seems nothing but productive, especially with the potential for health outcomes.
What has change is the food industry stuffing the food with big variety of harmful chemicals. The wheat itself as many others was changed by "scientists" into something just a little toxic, but the harvest is great. Carbs in seventies and carbs today are not the same.
Every time I watch one of your videos and then look at your subscriptions I am shocked... This channel has excellent content!
Thanks, Liam. There is only one possible answer: RUclips is intentionally suppressing the TRUTH because they're being PAID by BIG FARMA!
;-P
@Physionic definitely... all authentic information is hidden....good work my friend
Because the channel doesn't have any dogs. Or nature scenes.
@@shorea27yes, more trees, please!🌳
True! Even if im still not really sure do i like him content like this deserves more attention

19c is a cold room? im comfy in 15c or lower, but with a duvet. at 19c I'd sleep without anything at all.
You are HILARIOUS! ❤LOVE your sense of humor!

I am the only menace killing your metabolism, leaving people obese; they call me Metabolicus. 👹
do you have any content going in dept on the effects of fastfood?
So my wife’s need to have the temp at cryogenic temps at night has had health benefits? This is good.
Great vid!
Haha, I tend to keep things extremely low, myself. Thanks, Tom!
What is the optimal diet for humans in your opinion?
Snickers, lots of snickers. Oh, and doritos.
@@senorpepper3405 sure beats Kale and Collard Greens.
@hikedayley9309 snickers and doritos diet is optimal for death before 40 in humans.

That's hilarious. My friends and I used to make fun of that over the top voice all the time. My pleasure, V R.

But I live on a tropical island lmao xD Room is hot
May I ask if you are credentialed (degreed) or just an eager learner sharing your findings? I’m new and curious.
Have my Masters degree and in my final year of my PhD.
@@Physionic what is your area of study? I have a Asperger boy in my house that needs credentials before he will listen. 🙄

PhD: Molecular Medicine.

Very spooky!
Haha, maybe I should have released this on Halloween.
I think you have to make the videos over 10 minutes to receive the benefits of RUclips algorithms
Not sure a slow metabolism is bad, it will mean slower wieght loss but also slower cell replacement.
Cold room is not a scientific term, very vague.😮
