We USED to store things in the sink on travel days. One time I had a gallon water jug in there I think. As we travelled on the bumpy interstate system I heard a change to the rattling in the back. At our next stop I found out our sink (looks just like yours) was no longer connected to the kitchen counter. The studs used to hold the sink had failed and the only think keeping the sink off the floor was the drain pipes. That was a significant do-it-yourself fix when we arrived in camp. New travel rule: nothing with any weight rides in the sink.

Thanks... FYI, all the rest areas in MS on that stretch of I-10 have overnight RV dry camping sites away from the cars and the trucks. You were only a couple of miles away from the Jackson County I-10 WB Welcome Center (yes, you would have had to loop over and back but it is only a couple miles). The others Rest Areas, both the East Bound and West Bound, have the sites. The Hancock County Welcome Center on the LA border (combo E & W) is particularly nice with a dozen pull-thru sites. All the RestAreas have Dump Stations as well and potable water when not freezing. Same for I-20 in MS as well.

Spending school vacations in my parents big rigs, the sound of trucks puts me to sleep! My mom hated hauling refrigerated commodities, it’s the “refers” you hear. It’s the large refrigeration unit on the front of the trailers that’s the noisiest.

We learned NOT to do long drive days the hard way. Had 6 days to drive from Pensacola back to OR because we loved FL beaches. Never again! 😅😅

Yes, we turn the propane off as well on travel days, albeit there has been a 'did you turn the propane off'...and a 'whoops' happened, so an unscheduled stop at the next rest stop takes care of it! I 'love' to get behind the wheel, often wondering what's around that next corner, and feel very comfortable with our '36 Phaeton & towed, and if there is a lot of mountain driving I can get a little tired, otherwise I have no problem on long driving days..so far 14 hours has been the longest on a trip home when Covid hit, but that's not our usual driving day. 7 - 10 hours is no problem though, as often we'll get up at 4:00 Am make coffee, and are on the road when we have a select destination several days away! Thanks for the 'Plan to Eat' app, as I'll show it to my wife once she gets back. We're currently at an RV Resort for an extended time, with a ton of things to keep us busy, thus why my wife isn't here. lol. Stay safe you two!

My wife and I are planning on getting an RV sometime during the next 6 months to a year. We are so excited to get put there and start RVing. We absolutely love to travel so we decided that RVing will be a great way to start seeing the country. We have been studying videos of many different RVers and their different styles. We will be in Tampa for the Florida RV show Friday and Saturday. Hopefully we'll see y'all there. God bless and safe travels

Love all the tips and suggestions and the reasons. You are my Class A go to sourse for sure. Love your rig. Love all you two do to contribute to the RV community to make it a better place. Enjoy the time in Tampa, even though it will be a busy one for you. (Also for what you do as vets, for our vets. Appreciate your service)

Like you, with a big rig, we plan how far to daily drive, where we are staying the night, etc. However, in our itinerary (which is in Excel), there is a nightly camping location per day. When we reserve a location, I highlight in green each night of camping. Ones that can't be reserved because we can't book in their window yet remain yellow, until booked. Regardless of private park, HH, BDW, Boondocking each night is color coded. At a glance we can look at the itinerary and tell if we booked, need to book, etc. One stop shop as all info is in one place in our spreadsheet.
Also, giving Alasks is in your future, would you like to see our 86 day itinerary for Alaska? We did it with 36' DP towing an F150. Loved Northwest Canada and Alaska!! Saw all 8 Alaska US National Parks on that journey.

I have a Garmin RV 770LMT. I usually plan my own route before hand and know where I’m going. Once however I was not familiar with where I was going and I had planned my own route but Garmin told me to a different route then I had planned to go. I decided to follow the Garmin instructions and it was almost a disaster. Narrow windy road NOT fit for a 42ft 5th wheel. I now always plan my route and if Garmin gives me a discrepancy I stop and double check before following the Garmin. So BEWARE. This occurred in Gilroy, CA heading to the Thousand Trails there
