- Hey guys, it felt so good to be back in my old friend the F-14A Tomcat, how can you not love the Turkey Bird? I am still very much of the opinion that if you know how to fly her right and how to interact with Jester or a human RIO the F-14A & B Tomcat is the most effective and survivable Strike Fighter in DCS World that I believe will only be surpassed by the F-15E Strike Eagle in the future.

I had relatives in the navy that flew the F-14 and airforce F-15 when they flew red flag and rimpac most of the time the F-15 lost. Unless the F-15 got the Tomcat out of its High altitude happy zone and down to mid altitude where the F-15 lives

wow, spud, love your videos, then the reapers, but i dont have 3 hours to watch it, lol, omg bro, anyways, im sure its good sht, even army doctrine says, a soldier losses attention span at 30 minutes, but we still make them do guard duty from 2hrs, to 24hrs, so i dont blame ya. keep up the good stuff

@@Spudknocker yeah, im speaking of guard duty, or the 16, 18, red flag, omg, 22 mins to next CP, yup, doing laundry, dishes, dinner, ect, HELO is hand on the whole game, lol which makes it sweet, sucks if your a drunk like me, about 15 minutes before next jack and coke, but good sht
I've participated in red flag, not much has changed as far as the mission briefing. Except for the briefing about the red square and staying out of the red square. Also the picture of the red square on your map to make sure you know what the red square looks like so you don't fly into it. ROEs for BFM were not covered either, but overall good briefing.
That’s pretty cool! If the red air wasn’t AI then some kind of BFM rules would be relevant, but the AI doesn’t really play by the rules haha!

@@Spudknocker Given how in-depth the Start Up, Taxi/Take-off, and Navigation videos were I'm sure any topic would be helpful and up-to-date. I'd guess logically DDI menus and/or sensors could be next in line? I know I'd watch the heck out a "Definitive Series" that covered basically everything from start up to shut down. There's a ton of Hornet information out there, but it's sometimes hard to know what information is still valid vs things that changed via early access.

Why does everything sound better in videos of the f-14 in dcs but when I play (with the same headphones) it sounds different and less defined
what is the big difference between the f14A and B?
A has the problematic P&W TF-30 Engine and the B has the GE F-110 Engine which is much better, keep in mind the B is also referred to as the F-14A+ Prior to 1990(ish) There are also some slight avionics changes
Can you maybe do some operations with the m2000 ?

I can't see or lock anything inside of 20 miles with Jester. It's infuriating. I've pretty much given up on the F14 because of it.
you have to use pal mode or vsl mode it locks up anything on the nose within 20 miles

Why would an F-15 ever fly that close (less than 10 miles) and not fire from a high perch on enemy planes? Unrealistic
Different rules of engagement, loss of situational awareness, weapon types carried there a million variables at play

Some of these people are way too awkward and nervous to be participating... If you can't speak clearly and concisely, you shouldn't do this sort of thing. You could easily ruin the entire thing for others by being unable to deliver information well enough and getting people killed.
