Actually No, Bonkers was never really intended to be a Roger Rabbit series, as the creator stated, he said that he was just INSPIRED by that movie to make a show that also has toony zaniness.

the extended intro used occasionally on the episode Comeback Kid, despite being a Lucky episode, the extended version used only scenes from Miranda (and compilation) episodes.
and also, the music key temp changed from D major to E major starting with "Ready for some big surprises."
and my friend Mallory P. Maggiore actually had it on a tape until Hurricane Katrina came in 2005 and destroyed the tape

This was my favorite Disney Afternoon show compared to all the overrated ones.
That's funny, considering that Bonkers is considered the most hated Disney Afternoon show on the block. Go on any cartoon nostalfia site or forum (or better yet, go on TVTropes) and you will find that no one remembers this show fondly. What's worse is that there's no clear explanation why people hate it.

I am glad to see at least someone likes this guy. I have been watching via D+, and Bonkers is an acquired taste but I have been acquiring.
I always remembered this show as roger rabbit, but everyones animated.
Man, I remember watching this when I was little and I got home from school. A lot of people haven't heard of this, I'm surprised because it was really good I thought. Doesn't matter if it's a knock off or not, still loved this show.
And if they have heard of it, they hate it for...whatever reason they have pulled out their ass.

Episode 6 of this series had the main antagonist voiced by the same person who voiced Nodoff from Darkwing Duck with the samw.voice tone and.attitude as him! The actor is Neil Ross.

Personally i wasnt a fan of bonkers voice, but i still enjoyed the style and slapstick and espacially the theme song
SAME! I never liked that character's weird voice. The slapstick does seem entertaining where I never founded it all THAT funny. But the style is also pretty good.

Am I the only one who things the Disney afternoon cartoons all of them deserves a remaster or a revival? I wouldn't mind Disney+ giving Bonkers a fresh coat of paint and the series is still funny to this day

Dude, Bonkers was a genuinely good show. Every show borrows ideas from elsewhere. no such thing as an original idea anymore, that doesn't make it bad. and the bonkers character was actually very endearing. washed up actor turned cop? more depth than most cartoon characters will ever have.

It wasn't a Roger Rabbit rip-off. It was a cartoon intended for Roger Rabbit, but Amblin Entertainment wouldn't allow Disney to use the Roger Rabbit characters. So they made the cartoon anyway, with a character Amblin didn't co-own.
And I love both Roger and Bonkers, and I don't think this cartoon would have been as good if it had been made for Roger Rabbit, as originally intended.
