She looks super cool. My only gripe is her super, that is visually kind of too simple compared to the other characters. I imagined that she would use the line and her speed to pass by the opponent several times tying him up, and then delivering a huge slash.

Stop whining and just enjoy it. This is clearly a passion project from a bunch of devs that thought it'd be a cool idea and got it to happen. It's not a company flagship like Guilty Gear, Street Fighter, or Tekken

@@GhibliNovayou can say that all you want and to an extend I'd agree, but there is now world where this game should've ended up the way it did. Horrible communication at its finest.
In every combo she ends, she seems to have an activation where she uses her wire mobility after using an MP skill.

I saw a few times Vanguard was just being nice.
I am unreasonably excited for this character. Been looking forward to her since she was teased literally last year. July 12th can’t come soon enough

It looks like they hired pro players to test Spectre’s gameplay and I’m glad they showed us some cool combos with only a few drops/resets.
They don't even need pro players to showcase her. They could have had someone who knew the moves and knew when to use them smh

i mean, the combo trials get planned out and recorded by ppl on the dev team, and even before then they have all ur combo routes written out on a flowchart (not necessarily the full optimal routes, but all of the pieces that players later put together optimally). they dont need to bring in outsiders to put 2 and 2 together (especially at a veteran fg studio like 8ing)
not sure why it took em so long to show off the cool stuff tho. arcsys marketing, strange as ever

It's kind of too late. At best, it'll stay at the table that Melt Blood Type Lumina and Skullgirls sit at: A side tourney that people would congregate at when they're done with pools but it's still early to hit the money matches.

Seems to have some really great offensive pressure too. Loved how this also showcased the new mechanics!

Ok this is what I wish other devs would do when showcasing their game. Get two people who know what they're doing and make them fight. It really allows you to understand what the new character is capable of

I'm more curious about the system changes at this point. The buffs from gold cube seem to be quite strong, considering some characters had their awakening passive changed to clear cube, which triggers at 50% HP. Can't even fathom what sort of buffs they'll get under 30.
Oh, the awakening effects from the game are on the clear cube? So the gold cube has some new effects we don’t know about yet

Repeating my comment in another thread: in this demonstration they show the new system Imdomitable Spirit, at first looked like a Faultless Defense or a push block, but she spent a little bit of health to use it and didn't pushed the attacker away, instead looking at 0:17~0:19 she didn't move at all when using it even tho that move from Vanguard was suposed to push you far away, so I think this can be used to make the some of the enemy safes moves to become unsafe and give you a bit of white life even when blocking light hits, Also it looks like gives some invencibility frames, because the white flash indicates that, and she acted really fast out the vanguard 4S, so maybe reduces some of yours negative frames.
Another implication is that you can reduce the amout of red life from big hits at end of block strings, maybe is for that reason you get invencibility frames during the defense, look the last hit from vanguard 4S at 0:19, it shoud have removed more red life than that, but instead removed only the little bit she spent to use the Imdomitable Spirit.
@@chezpuf2554 For some characters, yes. Some got their awakening effects on clear cube at 50%, others don't. But those who don't get it also get a completely new effect at 50% HP using clear cube.

I'm disappointed of her Awakening Super but damn those normal moves seem on par with vanguard range.
I love that every hit has Impact and weight; despite how floaty it looks at first glance.
I would have liked for them to show off how she deals with Zoning, but other than that, this was a great showcase
she has air dash, most zoning tatics in this game can't deal effectivly against that
@albert. while the wire is good for movement, it's not really an air dash + the fact that you can't block in the air really doesn't help. The main reason I wanted to see her deal with it though is just cuz I wanted to see how she can approach that match-up. 1 of my friends plays Launcher and he's very good and punishing people who use jump and air dash as options. They are foos options, but I just wanted to see if she had more or if the wire is her only option.

Is no one talking about that "indomitable spirit" activations on block (looks like a universal mechanic) that lets characters build grey health? So now its not only berserker and troubleshooter that can get grey health for conversions on-demand?
