    Thanks for the support guys. When most people think about improving their Yoyo scores, they think about making better tricks, a tried and true way is simply to become more consistent. Here is how I do it.
    Super interested in how everyone else does it, comment you're ways to improve Yoyo consistency.

    I've been super bored of my life recently, until one of your videos popped into my subscriptions. I used to yoyo a lot back in 2013 but I quit. After seeing your vid, I decided to pick it up again... I forgot how much fun I used to have. Thank you for reminding me of the fun in yoyoing. :)

    Sleep is magical for its ability to commit new knoweledge to the mind.
    A few days ago I was practicing 5a double on release and couldn't nail one to save my life.
    I got a good nap in then I woke up and nailed three in a row, and haven't missed a single one all day today.
    I actually really hate sleep and I especially loathe dreaming but when it comes to knowledge retention you just can't beat it.
    The human body is a marvel.

    This is video is pretty old but I'm still watching this to this day. When I practice, specially when filming, I keep mistakes a lot so I redo it again. There are times when I took 100 videos because of mistakes and still haven't got it perfect and got frustrated. Realize I get more mistakes when I get more frustrated. Good underated vid

    I always use a small yoyo when I start. After I get consistent with a small yoyo, its easy to hit it on my bigger yoyo.

    So Brandon, regarding number 1, what would you pick? Knowing lots of advanced-ish tricks but sloppy and consistent form but can be fixed in time or knowing lots of basic tricks consistently like easy 1.5 combos and double or nothing? Btw I like how instead of before you were focusing on your own tricks and such, now you've grown enough to give other people advice.

      LongWaveGT consistency is key
      Gentry's tricks weren't the best in 2014 worlds but he go clicks in other places
      You don't need difficult (for you) tricks to do well in a contest

    • @kennyyo2705
      @kennyyo2705 6 лет назад

      I think Brandon said that in the video a lot of times lol. I'n talking about the current judging system. Not 2014's. The current judging system now is much more strict and requires more difficulty and evals. Look at Shion Araya and Gentry Stein, they were both consistent, but guess who won? Shion has a more tech speedy style, that's a plus. Gentry on the other hand has more music sync and the same tricks he does at 2014 and a bit of more elements. Shion has a good sync in music, but of course not as good as Gentry. And I wasn't talking about competition, it's about yoyoing in general.

    I feel like people should deliberately try to find ways that your tricks can fail instead of doing all your tricks thousands of times so you can plan how to recover *if* you make a mistake

  • @JoeyFlowers

    Play drunk and with a longer than normal string.. Then shorten your strong just a hair and be sober. Lands everything.
    Just kidding but seriously though, if found that if you practice with a longer string and maybe even a harder to use yoyo, then shorten by a bit and put on your competition throw about a week before it helps. I haven't won shit so this may just be crap. But it was least works I'm the short term.. Don't drink kids.

    Do you have any tips for beginer 2a ?

    • @toby.2a
      @toby.2a 6 лет назад

      If you're just starting out, practice more with your non-dominant hand than your dominant hand. I recommend getting YYF Loop 720 as a first 2A yoyo if you need one, it requires zero knowledge to set up and use. When practicing loops, if one comes out bad, catch the yoyo and start again. Don't force bad loops since you will get into bad habits/technique. Also use pretty short string, maybe arm length depending on your height.
