Sometimes someone just wants to be asked how they’re doing. It sucks a simple question most people don’t ask and others wish someone did for them.
People do ask. But it's more rhetorical than anything. I always say "hey how ya doing" when I greet someone. Thing is don't really want to know if I'm being honest. And most people won't tell you the truth anyway.

2024 a devastating loss for sure
This right here I suffered in silence with depression for 6 + yrs after my grandma died in 2018 then my dad died in 2020 from covid my brother died in 2022 and on top of all of that in 2022 I found out I was exposed to toxic mold and my landlord knew about it which caused me to be severely depressed and ill I was suicidal on 4 different attempts and also had sepsis and was found unconscious without a pulse for 12 mins even after all of this nobody asked me how I was feeling or if I was ok I had no support system and still don’t and even in 2024 iam still suffering with depression I try to journal my feelings to keep from breaking down but it’s so hard because people think iam OK just because I smile or laugh but when iam alone I cry and what hurts the worst is my mom even told me if I was gonna harm myself go head and do it 😢 it really made me feel I was better off dead 😢 even when we say we’re ok we’re not ok 💔

I commend Method man and Fat Joe for opening up about their personal struggles. In a society where black men are raised to always be strong, it's ok to be vulnerable sometimes and open up about how you're feeling which is why the statistics are showing the suicide rates are highest amongst black men in America.
