    This was a good and informative video, thank you for sharing the info on the Red Shirt golf carts! We are thinking about possibly doing this for our next cruise in February. Do you have to refill the carts at a gas station or you can return it as is? Thanks.

      Thanks for watching! We did not have to refill the golf cart with gas upon return. We just drove it back to the port and drove it right up to the hut and they gave us our deposit back. Couldn’t recommend this company enough in Costa Maya. Have fun!

    Great footage! Were there plenty of spots to park the golf cart where you visited? If you were to do it again, would you do a golf cart or cab? Trying to decide between the two!

      Every hotel or restaurant that the golf cart company has an agreement with (the map shown in the video) had free parking. In town, we were able to find parking but we only went to those two restaurants so we parked in the same place. So, I can’t really speak on the abundance of parking in town. If you want to explore and do something new and different, I suggest the golf cart. If you want it to be easy, then I’d go with the taxi. Either way, you can’t go wrong. Enjoy and thanks for watching!

    I booked one of these for my April cruise. Did you use US $ or Paso's to pay for the Golf Carts. How about the Tacos and Grocery store. What currency did you use?

    • @TAPtonyalexisandpete
      @TAPtonyalexisandpete  Год назад +3

      We used US $ cash to pay for the golf carts and gave them a $50 cash deposit that we got back once we returned. You can put down $50 or leave your Cruise Ship ID. We used credit cards at the restaurants and grocery store since we have a Capital One card that has no foreign transaction fees. Almost every place there takes US $ though. Thanks for watching!!!

    Hello. I am assuming you brought a drone. You had no issues with the local customs. Is it allowed in Mexico ?

    • @TAPtonyalexisandpete
      @TAPtonyalexisandpete  Год назад

      Yes I brought it but, you don’t go through customs when you get off a cruise. US customs sees it go through security when we embark the ship and have never said anything to me about it. The problem I did have was the cruise security confiscating the drone when I boarded the ship because they want to ensure you don’t fly it from the ship. They flag your cruise id card and store it in a secure area so when you exit the ship, it alerts them that they have your drone and ask if you want it back to fly at that port of call. I would leave the drone in its case and they would hold it overnight, but take the batteries and charger with me to my room so they were charged for the next day. As far as flying it when I got off the ship, the areas I flew it were not crowded and I just try to do inconspicuously. Some ports don’t allow you to fly it right at the port, so only it take it off the ship when I know we’re going somewhere remote where no one will bother me.
      This video has a lot of drone footage right at the port. Again, I just picked a hidden place in the trees to fly it so it wasn’t obvious.

    Did you feel safe leaving the golf cart while you ate and shopped?

    • @TAPtonyalexisandpete
      @TAPtonyalexisandpete  Год назад +1

      We didn’t really shop much but when we parked it to go to restaurants, we felt safe because you take the key with you. If you park at one of the recommended (by the golf cart company) restaurants or resorts, they flag you down and you can just leave your cart parked there while you use their facilities/chairs/restaurant and walk to go shopping. Once you park on the main strip, everything is all there close by.

    How much did the golf courts besides the deposit

    • @TAPtonyalexisandpete
      @TAPtonyalexisandpete  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching! It cost $60 (cash) for a 4 person cart and a $50 cash deposit that they gave you when you returned. Instead of the $50, they also offered to hold one person’s Sail N Ship card instead but we went with the cash deposit. This is their website: costa-maya-golf-cars.negocio.site/

      Thanks for watching! At Lunas we spent about $10 for drinks. Tacos, guacamole and 2 margaritas at Camaroncito Carabeno was $22. And $14 at La Curvita for 3 plates of tacos and guacamole.
