This series has inspired me so much! I went through my collection last night and threw out some stuff that had gone bad. Stuff that was still good, but that I knew I didn't love on me I gave away. The person I gave it to is a young mom who is going through a divorce. She was so grateful to have it that I was blown away. She kept saying she felt like it was Christmas morning because there was so much stuff and she was so glad to have it. She said that she loves makeup, but just can't afford it right now :-(. I just realized that I didn't need back ups of every thing and that a lot of my makeup would go bad before I could use it. Since it was all good and in some cases brand new makeup, it deserved a good home with someone who will appreciate it. Thank you so much for inspiring me because if it hadn't been for your videos I wouldn't have thought to do it. It made someone very happy and lightened my load so that my collection isn't so overwhelming. I love this series!
Just recently discovered your channel, within the past two weeks and I just love you. I feel so relatable to you and I have went and watched almost all of your videos. You are my new favorite. I watched the video of Tyler proposing to you and I just cried. I'm so happy for both of you and you inspired me to declutter and rearrange my room last week! So much more room now! Have a fantabulous day, love you!!
Double wear is by far my favorite foundation!! For daily wear I use less than a pump and apply it with a beauty blender, or even mix it with my moisturizer. It sheers out really nicely, but I love that it is so buildable and full coverage when I want it!!
Loving this declutter series (my fave has been the eyeshadow palette video because those are my weakness). I've been decluttering too and it's been really great not just to clear out what I don't use/don't like but to also give to friends who will love the products way more than me!
If it squeezes out just oil (the KA base) it's probably just separated. Sometimes it happens because it's been sitting there for a while or some formulations just need to be shaken up regularly. Keep it if you love how it works when it's mixed up right :)
I love the Tone Correcting powder from elf. I use a fan brush and the pink mixed w/the yellow shade for setting under my eyes. I use it all over my face in the winter when I am super pale, and I use the green mixed w/blue for redness on my cheeks. I think it is my favorite thing from elf ever!
I love your declutter series!!!!! At 9:07, right after you were finished talking about the Tarte foundation, who said, "Hey"??? It caught me off guard.
I LOVE YOU SO FREAKIN MUCH!! Honestly I found your channel and I'm obsessed! You're such an amazing person, and you're gorgeous!!! Love theses videos and you!! 💖💖💖😊
Always enjoy your purging videos because I learn so much from them! I also got that Kevyn Aucoin from the Hautelook special and not thrilled with it either. I gave mine away. I love the e.l.f. foundation in porcelain, was surprised you found it too dark. You mentioned checking on some of the ones you kept next year...I thought there was a 12-24 month expiration on foundations? Thanks again for doing this series of de-clutters. Love em! : )
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who isn't blown away by the cover girl 3 in 1 foundation! I also think I'm the only person in the world who hates Estée Lauders double wear!
I have combo-oily acne prone fair skin and do not like the whipped version. It never fully sets on my skin, whether I use a primer or not, and emphasizes my pores :(
I have combo oily skin and the whipped sits beautifully on me and I end up with a satin finish. However I use a beauty blender to press the foundation into my skin. Also the Real techniques sponge would work. If you use a brush, apply and use a foam wedge sponge to press into skin. It's a great consistency and it doesn't oxidize like the bottle version does.
Love your videos! Especially the declutter ones. It helped me declutter my stuff too. Can you do a video for beginners for brushes? and what brushes can be used for what products? maybe a declutter for brushes too?
I totally agree with you about the Covergirl 3-in-1 foundation! I have dry skin and I hate it! Also, whenever I have squeezy tube foundations that give that gross oil, I just smush it around I. The tube and it usually is better.
Now repeat after me Jessica: 'Just cause the packaging is cute is not a good enough reason to keep it' LOL I said the same thing when I decluttered my makeup, and then I had to check myself because I was keeping way more than I was getting rid of. I know how hard it is though to let go of some things though. You did a good job. ;)
oil separates from the foundation. that's why it only came out the first time. my infallible did that. it's very common. makes no sense to get rid of it when you can just shake it and itll be fine.
For the tarte foundation I use my fingers, pat and then buff it with buffing brush. Real tech one is great with it. Apply small amount and build it up. I also sometimes mix with josie Maran argan oil esp in winter. I have normal to dry skin. so winter is really hard on my skin. Good luck! hope this helps abit.
Sorry if someone else pointed it out, but the e.l.f. color correcting powder is for different parts of the face to fight different things! the green is to cancel out redness (blotches, blush, whatever), orange is for undereye bags and things (to cancel out purple), for example. as far as I'm aware you don't mix them together!
I'm not sure if you already got rid of the tarte amazonian clay foundation but I have dry skin and love to mix a little bit of it with my maybelline fit me dewy+smooth foundation and it's amazing. it's not heavy or drying but gives the fit me foundation more coverage and stays perfect all day. it doesn't crease or budge on me at all and I live in Florida so that's a miracle lol
Absolutely love the Rimmel Matte BB cream. I've used it every day for work since I got it. It is a little dark for "light", but it does blend well. Although I am 1-2 shades above ivory usually so may be too dark for you. Really love it though, I uploaded a review of it earlier this week, where I'm wearing it as well. I need to try the foundation version.
You should get the Manic Panic foundation from Amazon. it's a purely white foundation and it's great for mixing in with foundation that is a little bit too dark. I have not found that it changes the consistency of the foundation either.
For the tarte foundation, I put some on the back of my hand then add just a drop of jojoba oil to it before i put it on with a beauty blender, it blends much easier then
I love the Tarte foundation. I use the big brush it came with, from QVC. I would like to try the EL double wear...I also love the Laura Gellar balance & brighten powder foundation....xoxo
I love your declutter videos! What foundation do you plan to use on your wedding? Do you have any suggestions for drugstore foundations to use for bridal makeup? I'm getting married soon too and love to use bb cream, but I know the spf in it will cause flash back in the pictures. Love your channel!!!
I have fallen in love with the new loreal matte foundation. Using it everyday. I also love the maybelline one too. The CG I used to love till it oxidized and every CG does that to me. I can't use Revlon CS since they changed the formula breaks me out its crazy. Love declutter videos they insire me to do this I need to with my lipsticks
Hey Jessica, I also love the Revlon color stay whipped and I don't feel like that many people talk about it on youtube. I'm not sure why because I love the satin finish so much.
The only base sort of makeup products I own (not including blushes and stuff) is a mac bb cream in extra light & chanel loose powder in Clare 20, and I use those pretty much every day I wear makeup. They're both a perfect match and I don't see the need to have sooo many foundations and powders, I've had 2 powders at a time before but that's it 😂
Oh my goodness. I totally agree with you about the L'Oreal lumi foundation. I can't wear that dang foundation bc I can never find my shade. In the true match, I'm C1/C2 and I don't think they even make one for my pale skin tone. I also don't like the cover girl 3in1 foundation at all either. The ready, set, gorgeous is way better. Great video 😀
i put a small sticker label on my makeup so i'll remember when i got them and when i opened them. i usually don't open the new makeup i got until i need to or until i fell out of love with my current stash. sometimes i just buy because there's a sale. :)
Hey love! I think you might find that the "C1" or "C2" colors might work better for you in the L'Oreal True Match and L'Oreal True Match Lumi foundations! You have a mixture of warm and cool undertone foundations and I keep hearing you say that all the cool ones "match" you best compared to your thoughts on the warm toned products! Just a tip and hopefully I'm making sense :) I love your declutter videos and yes I save my Double Wear for special occasions too even though I got it at a local CCO as well hehe!
Hey Jessica! I felt the same way about the Tarte foundation and almost returned it (but didn't because I'm lazy haha). BUT I loved it once I applied it with the IT cosmetics for Ulta velvet luxe LBD foundation brush. It's pricey, $38 but it's a REALLY good brush. I normally don't splurge too much and am perfectly happy with cheaper good brushes but this is worth it especially with this foundation.
I had the same experience with the loreal Lumi. I love the packaging but I feel like the color turns orange on my pale skin. I wish they had a lighter shade! Great video!
So I have to tell you my secret with the Rimmel CC Matte. I don't really like it for the winter, and I've had it about a month. But I know it will be perfect for the summer for my normally oily skin. So I've been mixing it 50/50 with e.l.f. 's Tinted Moisturizer! I don't know if you've ever tried their tinted moisturizer, but it's heaven in a bottle for me, because I don't really like or need foundation, I can just put it on and it evens out my skin tone! When I mix the two though..... It's the most amazing thing! It turns into a medium coverage foundation for me!!! It's glorious and you must at the very least try the tinted moisturizer that's like $3! I stock up on them because I love them soooo much!
I have a video idea for you! If you could put a makeup kit together for a beginner or just someone who wants to invest in a good kit, what products would you include? I'm talking your number one pick for each type of makeup item. I'd be so curious to see what you choose since you use and like both drugstore and high-end products. I guess it would be similar to what you'll be using on your wedding day. I absolutely love watching your videos, no matter what the topic!
I just bought the cover girl foundation and it doesn't have the coverage I was expecting, it barely covers the little bit of redness I have on my cheeks!
You should try to estee lauder double wear foundation light!! it is the exact same, but has a BB Cream feel to it and it matifies and has a decent amount of coverage
I'd love a review on the Rimmel matte BB cream! I've been looking for a new one & have been eyeing that one. I love my Balance n Brighten but after many months of use I've found the fair shade to be dark/orangey on me. Makes me so sad because the coverage is great - I just wish the color selection was better!
I have that Kevin Aucion tinted moisturizer (or foundation but I recall it being a tinted moisturizer) and it is amazing. You might want to try and squeeze it around to blend it more. Or perhaps it is old. Mine doesn't have that separation issue and I love it. Hopefully you can save it!
Thank you for the Declutter Series..Seriously...! I have been holding on to makeup for the longest, rationalizing the $ i would be loosing by donating it or throwing it away. When I see you parting with items including High End Brands that could not have been cheap to purchase its been my motivator..last week 60 Lips Stick/Glosses were parted from my stash..60! Just shameful spending ..
if you like the the formula of the estee lauder doubleware the double ware light is the same but a medium or more sheer coverage-i only use estee lauder foundation
The bare minerals one I had to go through 3 shades and I am super pale too I ended up going with fairly light which is just between the fair and the light and it was perfect. If you try bare minerals again you might try that shade.
I have a similar skintone with dry skin and I use the bare minerals in golden fair. I have the hardest time finding the right shade for my skintone in drugstore foundations and your videos are really helpful. Everything I've tried in the lightest shade is too pink. I recently purchased the loreal true match luminous foundation in w1-2 as well and it's too pink. I feel like the w-1 in the loreal true match liquid makeup would be too light though. I've decided to try the maybelline fit me (the dewey one) thanks to your reviews. 😃
I just got the Tarte amazonian clay foundation and I felt the same way you did the first time I tried it out. I have super dry skin so I didnt like the way it felt after I put it on and I thought it looked kinda patchy because it is a thicker formula and harder to blend out but I did love the coverage. BUT I have found a way I like to apply it. I moisturize (duh) and when I wear this foundation I always add a facial oil over my moisturizer. Then I spray some sort of facial spray (MAC fix+, NYX, etc) on a synthetic hair kabuki brush to sheer out the foundation and I love it now. And I find that this foundation is really long lasting for me because it is more dry but the extra moisture I add helps make the perfect balance for me! I dont know if all the extra work is worth it but just some tips that have worked for me :)
hey there!. I have the same fit me in the same shade so I think we're same skin tone. I have been using the l'oreal true match for YEARS. when you said w, i just knew it would be too dark. do the n1 - soft ivory. its a VERY VERY slightly lighter shade than the 112 maybelline fit me
I really love the cg foundation when my skin is on the oily side.. But now that I have dry patches it doesn' t work as good.. But definitely great for oily skinned girls.. It is very long wearing and high coverage too.. I got no breakouts as well.. But for now looking for the right foundie for my dry skin..
Do you have the Tarte's foundation buffer airbrush? That's what I use for the foundation and it works out so well! Excellent brush and blends it beautifully.
I use the bare minerals fairly light. I am super pale too Jessica I can completely relate try the fairly light or go to a store where they will compare a few colors ans match you to your right color. That's how I learned fair was too dark f or me. You will see the difference instantly. Trust me. Hope that helps.
Please try the Pond's luminous bb cream. Its the only bb cream that is light enough for my skin and isnt orange. Its actually gray based and has amazing coverage.
I feel the same way about the CG outlast.. but I love how it lasts, especially in the summer. I always mixed mine too. I'll probably get rid of mine now that I have the Loreal pro matte, I like it much better. If you like the pro matte I think you will like the Rimmel matte BB, it's like "pro matte lite". I adore it for everyday. I recently bought the EL DW lite and really like it, plenty of coverage for me, stays perfect all day. The shade range is very small though the one I have is a smidge too dark, but the next one down is way too light. I also picked up the DW concealer and it's fabulous too. Very good coverage, sets, does not budge. I liked the old Rimmel 25hr (still have and wear it), the new one is a different formula, too dewy for me and broke me out after one use... plus the bottle packaging is awful, don't know what they were thinking.
"I don't get what all the fuss is about with this one" is how I feel about almost every foundation RUclipsrs gush about. I have finally settled &splurged on the Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation for my combo skin and i refuse to try another lol
You've tried the matte and poreless fit me foundation, but have you tried the Dewey and smooth fit me? I like the matte and poreless and wondering if I should purchase the Dewey version. Could you review it?
Because you said the hard candy foundation (in a drugstore haul video i think it was) was pale enough for you I decided to try it out, since it is cruelty free, and it's amazing. I've never found a liquid foundation that is pale enough for me and theirs was, and I like the formula of it as well. Basically wanted to say thank you for finding it and showing it because I never would have found it on my own. :) Also, not sure if it's everywhere, but Sally's Beauty Supply sells Palladio, and CVS takes returns on makeup, even if it's been used, the only thing is if you don't have the receipt they give you a gift card. :)
I feel the same way about the true match lumi, I love my true match, which I get in w2 and I'm very fair like u, but the lumi is just a little too dark and it always makes me look oily, so I tried mixing it with my regular true match and I noticed that it has a little bit of glitter in it... so that might be why u don't like it, but it worked well mixed with the regular true match, it wasn't as lumi ;)
I am honestly obsessed with your channel. Can't stop watching!!
I get so excited when your declutter videos pop up in my subscriptions! You did a great job with getting rid of a lot!
These declutter videos are actually very helpful! Not to mention I LOVE long videos!!!
I love your declutter videos. I tend to hoard make up, so watching your videos helps to inspire me to pare down my collection as well!
Great video, Jessica! I love getting a lot of mini-reviews all at once, especially on the drugstore foundations!
I think you'll love the Tarte foundation! It covers extremely well and looks really natural! Love you ❤️
honestly like OBSESSED with you and your channel. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH JESSICA!!!
If it squeezes out just oil (the KA base) it's probably just separated. Sometimes it happens because it's been sitting there for a while or some formulations just need to be shaken up regularly. Keep it if you love how it works when it's mixed up right :)
Just found your videos after searching for inspiration to start my own decluttering, love your videos now. Keep them coming.
The more videos of yours I watch, the more I enjoy you! Keep em comin

At the end of your declutter series, you should do a makeup collection video.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who isn't blown away by the cover girl 3 in 1 foundation! I also think I'm the only person in the world who hates Estée Lauders double wear!
The Revlon color stay in the bottle changes and or oxidizes past two months. I love the Color Stay whipped in the jar and holds up so much better.
So you suggest the whipped over it? How about for oily skin is it good?

Yes!!! I was waiting for the foundation and powder declutter video. (:
I use a q tip to dip out the color stay whipped foundation, works great!
I agree with you with the Cover Girl's 3 in 1, but it works when I mix it with the Revlon Colorstay with a beauty blender.
The only base sort of makeup products I own (not including blushes and stuff) is a mac bb cream in extra light & chanel loose powder in Clare 20, and I use those pretty much every day I wear makeup. I love the Fit Me Dewy formula in Porcelain it's perfect for my pale skin
i put a small sticker label on my makeup so i'll remember when i got them and when i opened them. i usually don't open the new makeup i got until i need to or until i fell out of love with my current stash. sometimes i just buy because there's a sale. :)
That's a great idea!
I had the same experience with the loreal Lumi. I love the packaging but I feel like the color turns orange on my pale skin. I wish they had a lighter shade! Great video!
Try the garnier bb cream!!! It's awesome, there is a formulation for oily skin too!
you have got to try the cover girl ready set gorgeous liquid foundation. it is my FAVORITEEEEE right now i absolutely love it.
also love this video!!
So I have to tell you my secret with the Rimmel CC Matte. I don't really like it for the winter, and I've had it about a month. But I know it will be perfect for the summer for my normally oily skin. So I've been mixing it 50/50 with e.l.f. 's Tinted Moisturizer! When I mix the two though..... It's the most amazing thing! It turns into a medium coverage foundation for me!!! It's glorious and you must at the very least try the tinted moisturizer that's like $3! I stock up on them because I love them soooo much!
Try using the BareMinerals "fairly light" powder foundation. I used to have the "light" but that was also too dark for me.
I love your declutters girl! yaaaay
I have a video idea for you! If you could put a makeup kit together for a beginner or just someone who wants to invest in a good kit, what products would you include? I love my Balance n Brighten but after many months of use I've found the fair shade to be dark/orangey on me. Makes me so sad because the coverage is great - I just wish the color selection was better!
I have that Kevin Aucion tinted moisturizer (or foundation but I recall it being a tinted moisturizer) and it is amazing. You might want to try and squeeze it around to blend it more. Or perhaps it is old. Mine doesn't have that separation issue and I love it. Hopefully you can save it!
Thank you for the Declutter Series..Seriously...! I have been holding on to makeup for the longest, rationalizing the $ i would be loosing by donating it or throwing it away. if you like the the formula of the estee lauder doubleware the double ware light is the same but a medium or more sheer coverage-i only use estee lauder foundation
Could you do a review of the elf essential tinted moisturizer, the lotion wipes, and the shimmer sheets? I've wanted to try these 3 but not sure.
You could always try mixing the tarte Amazonian clay in with a moisturizer or primer to make it not as thick and less drying!!!
You should try the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation, it's amazing!
I dont know if all the extra work is worth it but just some tips that have worked for me :)
i am so with you on the magic lumi. btw, have you tried the maybelline lipstick in totally toffee yet?
Have you considered a beauty spatula for the coverstay whipped?
I don't like how the CoverGirl 3 in 1 looks on me either! I thought I was the only one that didn't like it! Haha.
Have you tried maybelline dream liquid mousse? Might be a good sub for your revlon whipped
i love your channel jessica! you are amazing :)
xx
A lot of people use the tarte one with a flat top kabuki brush.
I use the bare minerals fairly light. I am super pale too Jessica I can completely relate try the fairly light or go to a store where they will compare a few colors ans match you to your right color. That's how I learned fair was too dark f or me. You will see the difference instantly. Trust me. Hope that helps.
Then you need to try the NYX BB cream. I found that to be dry. It might work for you!
I have finally settled &splurged on the Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation for my combo skin and i refuse to try another lol
colorstay "buff" is always a little grey toned. it's the shade i get too.
You should review or try the bare minerals liquid foundation
revlon colorstay whipped foundation is my holy grail!!!! xo from my beauty channel to your's
the kevin aucoin foundation is the sensual kin tinted balm
You could use that Bare Minerals foundation just to bronze up the face a bit.
😄
hey jessica! i was wondering about the matte and poreless and i need to know if its got cool, neutral, or warm tones? thanks ily
Also, not sure if it's everywhere, but Sally's Beauty Supply sells Palladio, and CVS takes returns on makeup, even if it's been used, the only thing is if you don't have the receipt they give you a gift card. :)
Can u please do a makeup organization video after ur done with your declutter videos?
What about when you get a little more tan this summer?(: aren't you going to want those dark ones back or do you not tan well?
I feel the same way about the true match lumi, I love my true match, which I get in w2 and I'm very fair like u, but the lumi is just a little too dark and it always makes me look oily, so I tried mixing it with my regular true match and I noticed that it has a little bit of glitter in it... so that might be why u don't like it, but it worked well mixed with the regular true match, it wasn't as lumi ;)
Hey, Jess. You are so awesome.
U can use the bare minerals foundation as a Bronzer
does the elf yellow powder give flashback?
i love these videos!!!
Use bare minerals foundation as a bronzer if its too dark, or an eye shadow.
Great video hun! x
