The ONLY reason I want this is for the theater aspect. Being able to watch a movie on a 2000 inch TV on the beach below a star-covered nightsky, THAT’S the selling point for me.
I’m actually gonna get this for two reasons: •IMAX theatre wherever you go for whatever you want to watch •Court side/field side seats for sports As long as it’s a better way to watch things (I think it will be, super high res and quality + 3 dimensions for sports) I will be happy. Apple always says things like “FaceTime this” and “health tracking that” but most people use their phone for social media and content consumption. As long as this does those better then it’ll succeed

When the iPhone came out, people were like “why do I need to be able to surf the internet or write emails on a phone, I can use a computer for that”. When laptops first came out people were like “why do I need a shitty portable pc when I can have a better one at home”. It’s the same thing here. Technological innovations take time for the benefits and full potential to be shown.
@@adctw3422 the point of an Apple watch, if you have an iPhone, is for better workout tracking, heart and health monitoring, sleep tracking, and convenience. It's mostly for people who care about health or fitness in any capacity or people with the potential for heart problems. an iPhone doesn't have an ECG, cant monitor sleep patterns for people with sleep problems or just want to fix their sleep schedule, doesn't have fall detection, and can't predict ovulation through temperature monitoring. It also makes it so you don't need to take your phone everywhere you go. Just because you haven't done any actual research into the watch doesn't mean there's no point in it for a lot of people.
There was already phones you could send emails with and browse the internet with before the iPhone. In fact sending emails over phones was something that people in business world wanted for a long time that’s why Blackberries used to be so popular. Same thing with laptops, people absolutely understood the benefit of having a portable pc, even if it was shitty at first the utility was more than enough reason to have one. I can’t really say the same thing about this thing, it’s wearable tech it’s not really in the same category as stuff like cellphones and laptops, so if it has any benefits over other devices it’s going to be very niche most likely
But like he said it’s up to the developers and the adapters and I think videos would be better if you got a friend to record who doesn’t mind being there but not in the camera
Yeah if you wanna try something like this just get a quest 2 or quest 3 in a few months. Way cheaper and you can watch movies the same way and play actual vr games.
