    Tufte is the best finisher ever. When he presses the pedal at the finish, no living creature can catch him.

    Why cant u say that Tufte was the best that day? He defeated Synec with the same distance as Mahe did in World Champs 07. Tufte also had some healthproblems in olympics 08 and got fever before the quarter final. Tufte had the best time in the world champ semis 06, but got sick before the final. This year (2008) is the first year since 04 that he has not got some disturbing healthproblems. And one more thing.... u cant argue with the fact that the man who crosses the finishline first is the best!

    Mahe was world champion for the three years before the olympics and the year following. 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009 It's not a coincidence that he happened to lose at the Olympics. He lost because he was very sick and he deserved to win the gold

    @schmazly2
    By the way, did you know that Tufte beat Mahe in a 2,5 km race on his own homewater just a couple of months after the olympic final, were they both maybe were 100 healhty (but maybe not in theire best shape).
    This year (2010) I think Zynek will win it though. He looks to be very strong. And i think Tufte is a underdog to Drysdale, Cambell.

    Tufte is a credit to the sport. Rows with his brain.
    This commentator should've got a better briefing, she cannot pronounce any of the rowers' names!

    What is Mahe saying just before the start?

    @netsna
    Other rowers I've chatted with who were there suggested Drysdale was dead sick!
    Tufte is a great sculler, but would lose a heads up race where both were 100 percent. BTW you must know that water times can't really be compared!

    If u want to win, you`ll have to stay healthy. Tufte was the best rower that day. End of story.

    Anyway...what is the name of the 5'10" rower, btw?

  • @hellerase

    @netsna Of course Tufte is the best!

    This last comment is to anyone who knows anything about the sport. The Olympic regatta is a whole different monster. If you have any doubts, check history. And again, Wadell is a much better single sculler than Drysdale.

    He won "De Koninklijke Holland Beker" a classical international rowing regatta in Amsterdam just a few months before the Olympics.
    Whilst celebrating at the party afterwords, he drank to much and kinda puked his guts out.

    Mahee was easily the best and far superior skill, proven by him being ahead over half the race and still winninh bronze despite being violently ill!

    @joealiston6995 10 лет назад

    mahe actually had a problem with his stomach the week leading up to this race and thats why he was almost 30 seconds off his PR. the man has won with two broken vertebrae, but after this race, he vomited violently and could barely stand to receive his medal

    Why cant i find a proper video of any of the olympic races? this channel is the closest it gets and the video and commentary is just pathetic on all of its videos.

  • @L8Music
    @L8Music 15 лет назад

    Blah, blah, blah . . . The Olympics are not the the same as the worlds, and this goes to show. Oh, and by the way, Wadell is better than Mahe.
