So... out of curiousity... Since 'cat' referes to a man, does kitten refere to a child or someone who he's sort of teaching?
I believe 'kitten' refers to a woman. So, when the lyric says he's never seen 'without a kitten on his hand' it's probably talking about him always having a woman with him.
