@@hazell1593 Little culture has been created in colombia-other than fake tits, dance and refined cocaine. the african american can be proud of their culture, but south america-not so much. travelling can provide a superficial impression that doesn't match with reality if one is not immersed in the sociopolitical aspects

Lili B...girl working hard, planning it, make it happen...saving money is the key if u r in a budget like me...then invite a girlfriend that can travel too or a family. I work extra hours and spend less money in anything bf I travel so I can splurge in my vacay. Good look 🙏
kenkev 1 Yeah I think I did okay last year saving money for vacation. I traveled 4 times in 2019 but I wanna go to places, countries, continents I’ve never been to this year. Thank you for your advice, I’ll make sure to work extra hard and make it happen :)

It is so sad the hateful history of blacks on that continent. The white Spaniards, and Portuguese have ravaged and murdered out the black population in every city, country, and town in South America. I pray it stop because hate is a terrible thing.
Don't get it twisted it's just as bad if not worse in the States especially in the past. The struggle is worldwide. At least Colombia preserved its African culture instead of being neglected in the States. The resistance is strong, the Bantu language and culture survived and Colombians ard proud of this.
@@jonygq it is not worse for blacks in the United States. Blacks have their own culture in style, music and food inwhich is imitated all over the world. Blacks in the United States is better off with more opportunities then anywhere else in the world but due to selfishness and history of systemic oppression the black man has been feminized, criminally stereotyped, and disrespected.
@@sunrisethompson4763 Yes it was worse because of segragation, the one drop rule, jim crowe and the 3/5th a man. These were all things that were enshrined into US law! These things were never in Colombian law. However the black people in the US light and dark resisted. Also the fact in the US there's more opportunities is because it's the mainframe of the system and some of that wealth trickled down. Latin American countries being poorer, that economic trickle down effect and access to technology & infrastructure was far more limited. This is not an us and them issue, the struggle is real in different contexts and Afro-descended people have resisted the world over such as Benkos Bioho. Black people have titles to their lands in Colombia, its enshrined in the constitution! There is a black majority state in Colombia and hundreds of black cultural expressions - some UNESCO world heritage. These things never existed to the same extent in the US and the African spirit is more than money and exposure via mass entertainment media and the Colombians know that. Something lost on you obviously. The ancestors would be ashamed of your narrow minded view.
I agree hate is a terrible thing. That was an interesting history lessen about Palange, Colombia. It looks almost deserted and blighted. I wonder what happened to the people? The schools looked abandoned. It was hardly any local people at the community gathering. Most of the people were from the tour group. It is sad knowing the history of Black people in South America and globally.
@@ms.yvonnem4945 First of all Palenque de San Basilio is anything but deserted. I've been there twice. First time for the drum festival in October second time during a normal weekend. You see one video of one dance hall and you say it's deserted please. One thing I would grant you is that its blighted. It's the first Free territory in the Americas, it hasn't received any funds from the State since 1603, everything they have they've done for themselves until at least a famous boxer Pambele from the town finally brought electricity to the town. The community is strong and has resisted any incursion into its culture and nation for centuries hence why it's UNESCO World Heritage!

Even their language , it is an African language ( kikongo ) mixed with Spanish .I speak kikongo and learnt basic Spanish .I can understand their language a little .

I went to Colombia two years ago! Went to Bogota for a few days then flew to Cartagena for a few days! so much fun!

Cartagena is so amazing! I went in Aug and def want to go back. So glad you went to La Mulata is was one of my favorite restaurants there (the coco lemonade was bomb)!!! And Alquimico too - the drinks went awfff 💕

Last summer, Columbia was my first trip to South America. The food was amazing and such a beautiful country. This vlog brings back so many memories and I wish I knew of that company 😫😫. I wanted to go to Polanco and do so much more. I need a do over. Amazing vlog as always.
