There was a lot going on in the shop this week, other than working on the 55, so this video was a little slower paced than I had hoped for! I have said it multiple times, but I'm going to say it again... we are getting ready to start moving fast and you'll be able to see some big changes! The last few weeks have been the smaller details to finish up, like on the chassis. The small details that you don't initially see a change in, but make the biggest difference and are the finishing touches to move on to something new. This weekend I'll be pulling the Nova apart (sad face) so I can take it's engine and trans and get it ready for the 55 while dad works on suspension for the 55. Then, on Wednesday I leave for LS Fest West in Vegas, which is going to be so much fun!

@J F, Alex also has an enviable amount of skills and knowledge and her Mom lays up the carbon and fibreglass. They're an amazing team. If you heard her Dad speaking about Alex drawing out the rear end on CAD so that he could set up the angles exactly! I agree with you that Alex's Dad puts a lot of effort, skill and expertise into everything that he does, like the key ways being exactly upright! Definitely a great, team with a eye for detail and the abilities to build an amazing car.

A quick tip for your dad, when cutting threads, cut the first pass then stop the lathe, back the cross feed out then run chuck in reverse until you get back past the start, screen cross feed in to depth of last pass plus however much of a cut you want then just engage the auto feed. Trying to time the indexing wheel every time can cause mistakes but if you never disengage the feed screw it stays on the TPI you started cutting. I only use the index wheel for first pass then never look at it again.
