I have been to debrigarh... its awesome bhai.. peace calm nature.. and winter me you can see the migratory birds like right in front of you.. I had spotted elephants once while they were migrating from south to north east ... also some other wild animals and few waterfalls and awesome viewpoints of the reservoir... they have huts overlooking the reservoir.. at night all you can hear is nocturnal birds and the water hitting rocks below the huts.. it’s an awesome experience whichever is like so close yet not that much tourism (as usual like everywhere in Odisha)
0:30 to 0:34 is like THE best part. Yes, I am so vain, I am still trying to understand how did you make me come in front of camera and how I actually liked it! Haha, bye! :P Thank you! :D
Wow...Realy proud to be an Indian speacialy as a residence of Odisha. .its very speacial for me that my exam center was Hirakud Graduation from Belpahar college.my father was a job in MCL Jharsuguda.
Those times when you are done with the edit and realise you haven't mentioned the name of the river on which the Hirakud Dam is built in the entire video. Haha! Leave a comment with the river name :) I post fun travel videos with lots of tips every week here. Do subscribe to my channel: bit.ly/SubscribeToAntarik Also, do share this video with your friends from outside Odisha. Let's proudly showcase the awesome things our state has that most people are ignorant of. 😀
Nicely done. 👍 Also I think you should cover other points of Sambalpur and Odisha as well. Do a series on the yet undiscovered places, food and culture of Odisha. 😊
It makes me feel nostalgic abouty childhood. I expected you to cover the power stations. I have spent several summer vacations at the dam, seeing it being built, from 1952 to 1962. I have also seen the Chiplima power station during construction. My father was involved in this project between 1949 and 1962.
@Antarik Anwesan - you made me nostalgic... I was born in Sambalpur near Khetrajpur... Its been almost 20 years I left my country and watching your video reminded my old childhood memories when I visited Hirakud Dam between 1988-1989, I guess you weren't born at that time... I had the opportunity to cross the Dam on a Jeep twice from Jawahar Minar to Gandhi Minar (back and forth)... We stopped in the middle of the dam to take pics from our reel cameras )) .... I remember stopping in the middle and watching the water from the bridge was very scary.... but was adventurous.. Thank you for this lovely video.... wish you all the best.
I'm from jsg and have never visited Hirakud...This was really nice to get an overview of the place. And kindly make more travel vlogs of orissa. It will be good to see them too.👍🏼
Zero Point not named as zero-point for that reason you mentioned . The place known as zero-point because that place might be taken as benchmark for surveying the level for construction of the dam and the point of benchmark is named as zero point and its level value is taken as '0'.
I WROTE A BOOK. Yes, and you can read it now. It's available worldwide. Read 'Baatein Beyond Borders' - linktr.ee/antarik ☺🎊
I from Oddisa... I feel proud when I hear that Hirakud dam is the longest dam in the WORLD...😉😊

Mahanadi river :D thats what I was wondering when you didn’t mention. It was nice to see you both and the burla views :)
Thanks Prithvi! Good to see you here :)
Also It seems zero point is called zero point is because the water spills out from the spillway at this level !
That does make sense. But did you read it somewhere?
My source is my dad :) he was in the forest department
