Back when Anthem was in its earliest betas, back when nobody could play and people EA and Bioware should have gotten sued into the fucking dirt, the cash shop worked. People could buy cosmetics in the closed/open beta, whichever it was, whilst the game remained completely broken and totally unplayable. One of the most positive things I found out about was an indie game called Everspace 2 having a DEMO of all things. An early access title. And it works. Zero bugs. Zero crashes. Not even debris getting stuck unmovable inside geometry.
Interesting. I took one look at the mech suits in Anthem when it was first announced and thought "the entire game will pivot around microtransactions for your suit". Ive played a bit of Everspace 2. Its decent.

Far Cry 6 was the biggest smack in the face to me. 5ft, red hair women killing thousands of soldiers while ranting about trans rights and being vegan. Every leader is a strong female twitter user. In real rebellion, these issues are the LEAST of the problems and none of this occurs. Everything about it made no sense they shoved so much box-ticking and woke politics the plot made no sense. Like a Frankenstein monster. The gameplay after an hour you did everything the game has to offer you just repeat the same missions, side activities, collectables hundreds of times. SO LAZY, stole my money.

Good thing I'm from on older generation who like the games mostly for single-player/campaign mode and for this partial reason I buy older games at usually 2-7 dollars now, including AAA games. This way I avoid unfinished, unpached, broken, pay-for-"beta" test, game-as-a-service trap, etc.
Why wait a few weeks, when you can wait a few years for a game to improve, or die, one of the two. Beats preordering AND purchasing on first day, and not even having to deal with weeks after of social media backlash for trying to sell a beta. The sandwich I bought yesterday isn't a beta and tastes pretty good, 10/10 would sandwich again.

The key words for usually bad games are all here, EA, Activision, Ubisoft, live service, and yearly sports games. They are also key word to wait 4-6 months and sometimes a year before purchase since some of them may end up free to play or on sale for around 80%.
One of the many great appeals of the Battlefield Franchise is that you're one grunt amongst a hundred other grunts on a battlefield, but in BF2042 everyone looks and acts like a main character.
My gripe with Outriders centred around the developers rebalancing the mechanics and destroying methods of playing in a game that isn't competitive multiplayer.
As chance would have it, my friend, who is a vet and has had a stroke, bought Outriders and asked me for help rebinding keys (his left arm is basically useless) and I just pointed him to your video and he got a refund for the game. So thank you for putting in the work so that I didn't have to.
This year, Hunt: Showdown kneecapped the previously very generous provisions of premium currency earned through gameplay and introduced a masked fucking lootbox. And most of the community is defending it. I love this game to death, but if they push it a single inch further, I will uninstall. Fuck this monetisation bullshit. Great video by the way
Its a multiplayer game, of course they were going for this route sooner or later. Im more surprised it too so long. Simply because Crytek is hurting for bank since ~2013 or so. Its a miracle for Crytek to still be here after all their failed managment.
Update: Uninstalled when the next update dropped. They are continuing to casualize the game while game breaking exploits go unaddressed for weeks, making the game actually unplayable. The servers were slowly getting worse before but now they are fucking dreadful, with even the best connections getting connection errors every other game. There are cosmetic DLCs with every minor update, and yet another store tab has just been hyped up as if they thought we actually want more cosmetics and not like, actual server/gameplay improvements and bug fixes. I've downgraded Crytek from "they fucked up my favorite game" to "NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM CRYTEK EVEN AGAIN, HOLY SHIT"
I would love to compile a list of crappy producer studios - so when they go shopping or eating - we give them just a part of what they ordered - macdonalds - just the bun - with a note - its a live service burger - wait until u eat the buns - then come back and order the meat - then the lettuce - then the condiments. Sure they would get the message quick. Or - I am working in the hotel - I would hand them a picture of the key - then an (not- correctly coded key) - then 50 keys (not one correctly coded) and when they finally ask for a refund or moving room - I would say oopsie - you just agreed to our service agreements! Lets see later if the live service is working and we an make you a key. 5 Days later - we make a key - but the room is Empty. Same Spiel starts again.

Yeah. Back when Anthem was in its earliest betas, back when nobody could play and people EA and Bioware should have gotten sued into the fucking dirt, the cash shop worked. People could buy cosmetics in the closed/open beta, whichever it was, whilst the game remained completely broken and totally unplayable.
One of the most positive things I found out about was an indie game called Everspace 2 having a DEMO of all things. An early access title. And it works. Zero bugs. Zero crashes. Not even debris getting stuck unmovable inside geometry.
Interesting. I took one look at the mech suits in Anthem when it was first announced and thought "the entire game will pivot around microtransactions for your suit". Ive played a bit of Everspace 2. Its decent.

I'm sick and tired of developers releasing half baked pieces of shit and then expecting to fix it later. And I still don't understand how people can defend this. The last time Dice made a game that actually worked as intended upon release was I think Battlefield 1 but maybe even before that. I hope that this year people actually learn and that they won't buy the games on release next year, so that maybe these shit developers will get their acts together
Far Cry 6 was the biggest smack in the face to me. 5ft, red hair women killing thousands of soldiers while ranting about trans rights and being vegan. Every leader is a strong female twitter user. In real rebellion, these issues are the LEAST of the problems and none of this occurs. Everything about it made no sense they shoved so much box-ticking and woke politics the plot made no sense. Like a Frankenstein monster. The gameplay after an hour you did everything the game has to offer you just repeat the same missions, side activities, collectables hundreds of times. SO LAZY, stole my money.

I do love this channel, even when the videos are about things I have no interest in, I still watch and enjoy them, the sarcasm and dry wit is top notch and I love the brutal honesty. Beats watching some of the other game review channels out there that seem to strain themselves into finding the positives of shit games, shit practices and shit companies, instead of just saying it how it is. The moment I saw the throwback references in the BF 2042 reveal trailer with the renezook (midair RPG to a jet) and the quad on a roof taking out a helicopter, it screamed desperation to the fanbase, exactly like the BF V reveal trailer had the old school Battlefield theme in the Jeep segment. How people didn’t see that coming baffled me.

Good thing I'm from on older generation who like the games mostly for single-player/campaign mode and for this partial reason I buy older games at usually 2-7 dollars now, including AAA games. This way I avoid unfinished, unpached, broken, pay-for-"beta" test, game-as-a-service trap, etc.

The key words for usually bad games are all here, EA, Activision, Ubisoft, live service, and yearly sports games. They are also key word to wait 4-6 months and sometimes a year before purchase since some of them may end up free to play or on sale for around 80%.

One of the many great appeals of the Battlefield Franchise is that you're one grunt amongst a hundred other grunts on a battlefield, but in BF2042 everyone looks and acts like a main character.

My gripe with Outriders centred around the developers rebalancing the mechanics and destroying methods of playing in a game that isn't competitive multiplayer.

As chance would have it, my friend, who is a vet and has had a stroke, bought Outriders and asked me for help rebinding keys (his left arm is basically useless) and I just pointed him to your video and he got a refund for the game.
So thank you for putting in the work so that I didn't have to.
This year, Hunt: Showdown kneecapped the previously very generous provisions of premium currency earned through gameplay and introduced a masked fucking lootbox. And most of the community is defending it.
I love this game to death, but if they push it a single inch further, I will uninstall. Fuck this monetisation bullshit.

Its a multiplayer game, of course they were going for this route sooner or later. Im more surprised it too so long. Simply because Crytek is hurting for bank since ~2013 or so. Its a miracle for Crytek to still be here after all their failed managment.
Update: Uninstalled when the next update dropped. They are continuing to casualize the game while game breaking exploits go unaddressed for weeks, making the game actually unplayable. The servers were slowly getting worse before but now they are fucking dreadful, with even the best connections getting connection errors every other game. There are cosmetic DLCs with every minor update, and yet another store tab has just been hyped up as if they thought we actually want more cosmetics and not like, actual server/gameplay improvements and bug fixes.
I've downgraded Crytek from "they fucked up my favorite game" to "NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM CRYTEK EVEN AGAIN, HOLY SHIT"

I would love to compile a list of crappy producer studios - so when they go shopping or eating - we give them just a part of what they ordered - macdonalds - just the bun - with a note - its a live service burger - wait until u eat the buns - then come back and order the meat - then the lettuce - then the condiments. Sure they would get the message quick.
Or - I am working in the hotel - I would hand them a picture of the key - then an (not- correctly coded key) - then 50 keys (not one correctly coded) and when they finally ask for a refund or moving room - I would say oopsie - you just agreed to our service agreements! Lets see later if the live service is working and we an make you a key. 5 Days later - we make a key - but the room is Empty. Same Spiel starts again.
