Sokka the actor portrayed him perfectly Sokka,suki,and Ang did really well and suki nailed it I think katara needs to be more confident but she is a working progress and uncle iroh

People love to complain about the removal of anime Sokka’s sexist characterization as being unfaithful to the source material, but Sokka and Suki unexpectedly meeting each other’s emotional needs (Suki helping Sokka start the path of overcoming his insecurities as a warrior, while Sokka, in return, stokes Suki’s cosmopolitan yearning to explore the wider world beyond Kyoshi Island) works for me too.

at first, i kinda worried that he will become so lame and not funny, But he was the best!!! his acting was so on point, Ian is one of the best actor in this franchise, beside Gordhon and Dallas Liu
Dallas really did well. I was most afraid for his performance because Zuko is a very beloved character whom comes with tremendous amounts of expectations to carry out for the actor. Wasn’t sure Dallas would’ve been able to carry all that, but he did.

What about Azula? I have yet to watch it but she is one of my favourite characters. She achieved more than most villains in regards to taking out the Avatar.

I laughed so much, when Suki couldn’t take her eyes off from Sokka’s abs, probably because she never got to see abs. And Sokka’s was kinda embarrassed
They did anime Suki a good one by this casting. This girl here does a fine job playing that important yet often overlooked character.
I know a lot of people who have been watching the show have been complaining about a lot of changes to the live action compared to the animated series, such as Sokka’s sexism, but I personally still this arc as well as the show. Before watching the show, I knew that there were going to be changes and not every episode from the animated series was going to be adapted. I will admit that there were some moments where the acting was a little wooden and the pacing was a little off, but overall I’ve really been enjoying the show. Way better than that abomination of a movie so many years ago.

This makes me realize that I miss Kataras sarcasm and it makes me realize what I liked about the original show. I also appreciate this live action for that.
What I found to be a very interesting twist in this episode was they added Suki's mother to the story. They never included Suki's mother in the original series. I wonder what else we will learn about her. Maybe she will turn out to be a member of the White Lotus, like Iroh, Pakku, and Bumi. All that's missing now is Sokka's swordmaster and that other Fire Nation guy who tried to teach Aang firebending.

SoSu is a energetic match made in heaven. Only thing that bothered me in the first season is Aang repeats " i am guilty.. it's my fault ". I really enjoyed season one!

I liked suki's actress. Very good cast, talented and she's incredibly beautiful.
She's slightly different from the original but I don't mind this. So far best romance moment was Sokka and Suki. Her interest in Sokka preceded just him it was her interest in the outside world.

People got too pissed off about the sexism getting removed, I’m glad that they still gave him some flaws with his confidence that he’s gonna have to overcome. This is how you adapt to improve a story and not ruin it.
EDIT: I don’t believe in taking away the original comment, but I will say that what they did with Suki is actually even more sexist the more I look at it. They took a confident woman and dwindled her down to simping for a cute boy with no flaws. They tried getting rid of sexism and accidentally made it even more sexist.

@@All-ze9cl the directions feels not as connected as compared to the OG. As well most of the important moments that made me fall in love with Avatar like Katara learning water bending, found it hard to connect with this series with my conclusions I did not like it
@@ZephyrBW I see what you mean. Personally I am happy with the way they took Sokka and Sukis relationship, but I totally agree that there are issues in other parts of the show.

From what I have seen, it looks decent. I wonder if they will ever get past Aang beating the Emperor. Not sure if I can watch a live action Korra. Seen enough of the spoiled brat who acts like a victim despite being the one in the wrong.

This has always been my favorite ATLA ship since the cartoon, and the live action version definitely did them justice. I think my favorite moment was when Sokka saw her face without makeup. No words were uttered, but his face said it all 😂

Aside from the "I'm not just a warrior I'm a woman" moment that they didn't put in, they did change Suki and the village. The village wasn't an Amazon village it had men in it too. They made it like it only had women and this was the first time Suki saw a boy.
I do prefer the original but the only part I liked about this new setup was how cute Suki was. The way she looks at Sokka like a puppy dog that's adorable. She came out more like how you'd expect Mai to act here. The chemistry they had was more rich here I have to admit.
