- In this video I will show you my favorite method of applique for beginners: the freezer paper on the bottom method. First we'll learn how to prepare the fabric and then how to tackle inside and outside points.

@@JaimieDavis_LoopyTulipDesigns found my fray check! I'm wading into an applique quilt on a black background that I bought as a kit to challenge myself and on that score? Mission accomplished. It's kind of daunting even though I've been doing needleturn applique for over 40 years off and on so I've turned to youtube to see any new tips and so glad I found your channel. I love to hand stitch, it's the most relaxing thing in the world to me. ETA after reading other comments: the music was fine IMO, you do you.

I have problems with taking paper out. I don’t know wether to sew first or take paper out first
Hi Maria, stop sewing about 3/4" from where you started, take out all of the basting stitches and then remove the paper. After that, continue sewing to the end. Does this help?

Hi Nancy, I've been slowly going through and taking the music out of my videos but I haven't gotten to this one yet. I'm sorry it's distracting. Check back in awhile and watch again and hopefully you'll be able to hear.
