    • @urusledge
      @urusledge 2 года назад +41

      Rats are too small to die from falling. Their terminal velocity and mass can't generate the kinetic energy required to do severe damage.
      Edit: I stand corrected. Apparently rats have poor aerodynamics and larger ones can in fact die from a significant enough fall. Mice should survive, and squirrels survive any fall as well. My error was assuming that since a rat was in between a mouse and squirrel in terms of size, it would enjoy the same benefits. I wasn't giving the squirrel's big bushy tail and ability to spread out and flatten its body enough credit for increasing drag and dampening the fall.

    Two generalist omnivores, one armed with amazing intelligence, wings, superior size and a powerful beak who tries to hunt the other one that while smaller, has superior weaponry and decent intelligence.
    The predator knows that, so it tries to tire it’s prey down by grabbing it’s weak spot, but the prey ferociously fights back.
    At the end, the prey finds an escape rout, and utilizes it, which results in both of them living another day.

The crow was simply trying to wear the rat down so he could then start using his beak as a spear to peck it to death; first take out the eyes to blind it and well, then the rest...

    When my son was about 11 years old he entered a Jaycee Relay Race. He’d never ran track before and didn’t know everybody wore shorts. He came in jeans, to everyone’s amusement. He ran the last leg for his team - and came away the fastest runner of the day, and made up considerable distance to win. This video made me think of that day. How I wish I had been able to see it, instead of only hear and read about it. I was a single mom and had to work. My son was an amazing athlete. ❤️
