I like that you show the fails too. It shows that you’re human and not perfect. Some things work out and some just don’t. Makes me feel less dumb. It is fun to experiment. It doesn’t all have to be masterpieces!

I like knowing someone else has failures. I thought it was just me! Thanks for all of your videos!

Thank you for this! I absolutely love that you show your fails as well as all the gorgeous things you make. I’d love to see more of your experiments and behind the scenes stuff. Even if it doesn’t turn out the way you want it too, it’s still very interesting. It also gives us a little glimpse into how your creative mind works, and that alone is very helpful and inspirational 💗

Thanks for showing us your experiments, so we don't wind up making the same mistakes. The only really good craft I've seen with ice was with candlemaking. If you put crushed ice in the candle mold before pouring in the wax, you get all kinds of interesting holes in the finished candle. My mom has a set of those, very cool.
For using something pebbly like that for a texture, I think I'd try rock salt. You don't have to worry about it melting, and it will hold the jagged sharp edges when you press the clay into it. Keep sharing your experiments, I love it!

Samantha thanks for sharing! All new discoveries start with a bunch of failures so I would say you just weeded out one thing that doesn't work, but that could lead to something that does! I think it was a good try!

Fails are just as important as successes.

The ice certainly looked pretty. 😊

Thanks for sharing. If I had thought of this I would have tried it. You saved my time. It was interesting to watch. ❤❤❤

Only thing that comes to mind that *might* do something would be paint? Since it's water based, it might react more and dry in an interesting way perhaps.
Still good to see your ideas even if they didn't work out how you wanted so thank you for sharing :)

It is fun to experiment. I used to be afraid of waste but it is worth learning and sometimes, we can get something really nice.

Yes, I agree that was a fail, but it is nice to see the fails. I was wondering if after you melted the ice with the liquid polymer clay & blue ink at the end; then laid the paper towel on it. If you had laid that down & put the clay on it. That was very pretty. 🤷‍♀️

The only way I have used ice is to help clarify translucent clay ( I use Premo) by immersion in ice water immediately after curing/baking.

I don't know about natural ice, but how about acrylic fake ice? Or what are they called... Orbeez...With liquid clay? Or marbles? Or maybe coarse salt! Just a few ideas 😅

A trial isn’t a fail if you learned something. 😊
