    Thinking about trading my brand new Scarab 165 in for an AR195 or SX195. I like the 165 but it gets awful GPH and that supercharged 300 sucks the fuel down no matter if you're going 65 or 30. They really should've given it a bigger fuel capacity than 20 gallons. And there's just no room lol. I barely fit in the helm and I'm at the gym 4 days a week. I made a terrible purchase.

    svho on a jetski would be 65 and in a boat like this it's 50. The twin tr1's are similar on the 2020. 30-40 is what I like, usually closer to 30 - good gas and if you hit a bad wake you don't fly out, which is good when you got kids and stuff in the boat.

    • @rik999
      @rik999 5 лет назад +1

      Gasoline vapor and boats can be a bad combination. Blower before starting engine after fueling keeps you from blowing up.

    • @kirbus69
      @kirbus69 4 года назад +2

      To be a bit more descriptive, boats that have inboard engines are always sealed off in a compartment so that they can offer more seating and also to keep engine noise down. It's not like the hood of a car though, because the engine compartment of a car is open to the air underneath (boats are not due to needing to float) and the hood is not water/air sealed either on a car. This means that any fuel vapor/fumes that a boat engine or fuel lines emit will not easily escape the compartment, and can build up in that compartment. When you crank the starter motor over to start the boat, if the engine compartment is full of fumes, you will have a nasty explosion. Think about it like opening the propane valve on your gas grill at home, but leave the grill lid closed, wait 5 minutes, then use the striker. Would you want to do that? Same thing with a boat. A blower is a fan that helps pull fresh air into the engine compartment, and push out stale air and fuel vapor in that air. As a general rule, a blower should be ran for a few minutes BEFORE attempting to start a boat that has an inboard engine, and should be left on while the engine is running.

      I have an older version of this boat. Your 350 is a 5.7 litre motor, this boat has a 1.8 litre motor. Big difference. I agree it is a bit under powered at times and could use more motor. But how often do you go over 45 miles per hour anyway? My average speed with my boat is between 12 and 22 mph pulling the kids on tubes and knee boards. Works pretty good about 90% of the time. The amount of space for a 19 foot boat is the best feature of it.

    Like these reviews. Points to add: what about flotation, is the engine cooling raw water, what is the draft. I live on the coast, so would be using in salt water and bays/ocean. Also please use the term "helm" for boats not "driver".

      It is a Yamaha jetski engine, it is only available in raw water cooling. Appaidies not do too bad in salt if flushed. Draft is about just shy of 2 feet but need 3 feet of water under the boat not to suck crap into impeller.

      I have this boat. Draft is 14" per yamaha website. We frequently pass through areas of the river that are 1.5' deep and sometimes a little less. Great all around family boat!

    to get the top speed you might want to be thinner. Smart when the power goes out and there is no food you will last 2 weeks longer
    my bicycle goes faster than that overweighted boat

    Cheap pile of crap. It’s not a boat that you can own and expect it to last a long time. Then again it’s a 19ft Yamaha you can’t expect much to begin with

      Jeremy Walls not sure what you own but I’d rather own my cheap yammie and be on the water than on my couch... that must be why 2000 Yamaha LS 2000 boats are still selling for near 10k at 20 yrs of age
