A lot of people were asking for the full results for the One Piece Arc Popularity Poll, so here it is!! Also, correction on my part. The least amount of votes for each category were wrong. The lowest for the BEST POLL was Reverse Mountain at 4 votes and the lowest in the WORST was Sabaody with only 3. tinyurl.com/4777f8dz
it’s impossible to hate sabaody
Sabaody gud
I think another reason people love Enies Lobby so much is because it was personal for the straw hats. Normally they go to an island and stuff happens and then they beat the bad guy and leave. This time Robin was captured and everyone wanted her back
The most emotional part for me in the enies lobby arc was the situation with the going merry.
It was a test to decide whether or not the Straw Hats could continue as a crew. If the Straw Hats couldn’t beat CP9, they wouldn’t be able to continue being a crew, because the enemies would only get tougher from there, and this group already managed to fracture them. By coming together to beat CP9, and save Robin, the Straw Hats forged an unbreakable bond, that enabled them to train themselves for 2 years, even after they were split apart at Sabaody.
I hate how People just say Enies Lobby when Enies Lobby is just the conclussion .. its tied directly to water 7 and should never be counted without Water 7
@@felixleidig8307 you can say that about any other Saga in one piece then, because they're incomplete stories otherwise. Why can't marineford be grouped up with Sabaody archipelago, amazon lily, and impel down? Or Punk Hazard grouped with Dressrosa? In reality the arcs are group based on islands and not the story.
Marineford had Ace at stake, so that can't be the only reason.
I think Enies Lobby is just so well structured, nearly everyone has some kind of arc going on. Not just Robin but Usopp and Franky and as a result the crew itself and their future are going thorugh an arc that raises the stakes so much, and yet it's also been set up seamlessly.
Marineford is way more chaotic, random things happen nonstop out of the blue for no reason, suddenly Blackbeard her and Shanks here and a crossdresser kingdom in the worst prison is here and ok cool but it's "and then THIS guy showed up" writing.
What do you mean "if Usopp was there it would've been perfect"? How could you forget the moment Usopp showed up to cheer Luffy up at the end of the fight? It was absolutely epic!
Ya it was weird usopp somehow teleported there wearing what looked like sogekings cape…
@@tenkenroowell, he's God, he can just do that. God came down from the heavens to remind Luffy this wasn't hell. AND he was super willing to take on Lucci to boot.
exactly he was there for a brief moment, not sure though how he got there in the first place.
Eh. I still chalk that up to Luffy hallucinating Usopp. I mean he had lost a lot of blood by that point and was probably seeing things. I mean what I am suppose to believe? Usopp magically teleported into the middle of Enies Lobby to cheer Luffy up and then mysteriously disappeared? Not buying it!
@@Tekking101 I like to believe that was the first time we were shown Go D. Usopp's real powers. I don't know how he did that, it may've been teleportation or maybe some illusion but I like to believe it was Usopp's doing.
The strawhats returning after two years and absolutely wiping the flood with everybody on fishman island was one of my favourite "fights" in one piece. After all the struggle the crew went trough it was so satisfying to see them completely on top for a while.
Yes FR, that Arc gets too much hate. I personally love the arc. It feels so different from all the other arcs cause its also so secluded. It is a completely different vibe from the surface. I always love re-watching it.
@Salman.khan786 Hody Jones and his energy steroids got on my nerves lol. If the arc had been shorter more people would have liked it. Wasn't really a great "comeback from timeskip" arc you see in most shounen.
@@JasonOwensYTits not like most, it was WAY better, but children want big fight every day
I agree but I really felt like Hody's fight was extremely dragged and kinda boring
Hody was the culmination of everything Fisher Tiger and Orihime fought against. We were all expecting a backstory related to perhaps Jimbei, Arlong, and more likely humans and celestial dragons, and then when asked what the reason for his hate towards humans was, he said there is none. To many this was stupid, but I think it's one of the most on point connections to the real world behavior Oda has drawn. I also loved that we stuck in Paradise for one last arc after the time skip to really show how the SHs have grown. We also get a lot of lore, Luffy shows the voice of all things and with it his second connection with Roger after finding out he had the strawhat before Shanks, Luffy claims his first territory AND makes a direct enemy of one of the yonkos. It's also the second time since Alabasta that Luffy listened to a friend (Jimbei) and paced his reaction instead of letting his urges prevail, and Jinbei like Vivi had things to take care of before joining the crew, which gives me more hope that Vivi as well will join them (at the tail end of Egghead or in Elbaf). Also Luffy promises Shirahoshi to take her to the surface immediately after they read Joyboy's apology for failing to do so, hinting he is the next Joyboy's.
I too find it really hard to rank all of the arcs, but I think some people just couldn't see past the annoyances that are Hody and Decker, and their subordinates, then they expressed their opinion online, and people just kept repeating that chorus of hate. Ironically just like Hody Jones's hate for humans.
Long Ring Long Land has a massive plot twist in the anime.
The arc is canon
Fr I thought it was filler when I was watching (years before I read any manga) and thought G8 was cannon
Imagine my shock when it was the reverse
Let's be Hypothetical here.....Say G5 was canon and Long Ring Long didn't happen then Aokiji shows up to the Marine base and did the same thing. But LRLL was setting up the thesis about crew before two of them leave we had the Hypothetical Scenario of the Strawhats not being apart of the crew.
About the boss idea in Enies lobby arc is that to beat crocodiles you had find his weakness and for Enel he just had a terrible matchup with luffy. But lucci was just a physical threat that luffy hadn’t dealt with, he was a wall that luffy and everyone had to grow to overcome.
Ya it was a straight up endurance match which pushed luffy over the edge. Luffy probably could have handled himself better in his first two fights with croc if he fully knew his powers. Cause in terms of physical strength luffy outclassed croc
I personally loved Whiskey Peak and I was extremely surprised to see it so high... Low? I thought it was a good introduction to both the Grand Line and to Baroque Works. Shows this sea is treacherous, gets world building with the weaker Baroque Works members preying on new pirates at the start of the Grand Line and sets up our next big arc with the reveal of Vivi as well as Nico Robin. And the fights were curb stomps outside of the short Zoro vs. Luffy clash, but they were entertainingly badass.
I liked it cause it was the first time zoro had a fight not at a handicap so he was able to go all out.
Whiskey peak is great and fun but has one of the worst moments in the series. Luffy attacking and actualy trying to kill his most loyal crew member and his partner not trying to even listen to him sh** on their whole bond that they built over 100 chapters. It was played for gags in the end but it still feels wrong.
It’s mostly because
1. The baroque works members introduced aren’t very interesting nor threatening. After seeing Don Krieg be traumatised by the grand line it’s a little disappointing to see the strongest individual member of Baroque Works attacking Zoro before Mr 5 and Miss Valentine arrive being Igaram, who even Krieg, Kuro and maybe even Buggy could defeat with relative ease.
2. Luffy vs Zoro was boring and stupid
3. Going back to point 1 a smidge, it is not an interesting introduction to the grand line. This is the first proper island we visit in the Grand Line, not counting Reverse Mountain as that is not an island and not representative of the grand line. What is this crazy island’s gimmick? There are big mounds on the island with gravestones on them. Compared to a massive dessert country with a rich history, an ancient sky island and super Venice it is very underwhelming and takes away a lot of the hype the Grand Line had received in the East Blue. You could realistically see the island in the East Blue and think nothing of it while if you saw a place like the Sabaody Archipelago you would scream “this is some goofy, wacky stuff!” (exact wording. Everybody would say that exact same thing independently).
Edit: I accidentally called Zoro “Zork” once and corrected it. I want everyone to know the legacy of Zork
37:10 In Enies Lobby Spanda says Funkfried was "born" with a method developed by Vegapunk, where you can feed Zoan fruits to inanimate objects, and in me, that gave a name to a hype I already had since Alabasta with Lasoo. So for me, Vegapunk has been hyped since Alabasta, even if I didn't know the name yet
Wait what would happen if Big Mom put a soul in a devil fruit? Would it start talking 🤯
@@josephmother2659 And then you can feed it a different Devil Fruit! The soul Soul fruit is the workaround for Vegapunk to be able to feed Logia and Paramecia Fruits to inanimate objects! (now he can only do zoans, because you need some level of awareness to use a DF, and zoan fruits provide the objects with animal intelligence)
Unrelated topic but i was wondering if you're planning on continuing the "what if one the straw hats died" series because I was really enjoying that one, Nami's had me feeling emotional for our navigator 😢
Would love to see a continuation to this series!
Yeah he got great imagination
The only reason I thought Enies Lobby wouldn't be first place was because I thought Enies Lobby and Water 7 might take votes away from each other. If a lot of people look at it as one arc and even include Post Enies Lobby, it's easy to see how it's the best arc overall. Considering them seperated, I thought Marineford would come first place.
Also, I absolutely love the Long Ring Long Land Arc, especially for the character building in Zorro and Sanji and just the fun of the actual fights (considering Sanji and Zoros Game a fight). I also really enjoy Foxy being a total jerk and cheater and getting his teeth kicked in for it xD Aokijis appearance is good too, I guess. The anime stretching the arc with a lot of filler games and completely changing the resolution did make it really hard to watch though - I 100 % only recommend LRLL in the Manga.
OMG a fellow long ring long land enjoyer
I understand your point about Enies Lobby and Water 7 potentially splitting votes. It's true that they are two very strong arcs that are often considered to be one in spirit. If you consider them together, then it's not surprising that they would be a top contender for the best arc in One Piece.
As for Marineford, it's also an incredibly well-done arc with a lot of emotional weight and memorable moments. It's definitely understandable why many people would consider it to be the best arc in the series.
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed Long Ring Long Land, It's often overlooked, but it's a really fun arc with some great character development. I agree that the anime did a really bad job with it, so I would also recommend reading the manga instead.
And, I think it's great that One Piece has so many great arcs that people can enjoy for different reasons. It's a testament to Oda's storytelling ability that he can create such a diverse and engaging world.
enies lobby, water 7 and marineford sucked.
@@SOLDAT_MENDES haha yeah right tard.
@@SOLDAT_MENDES enies lobby, water 7 and marineford sucked
TEKKKINGGGG. Please keep us entertained and never stop being you. WE LOVE YOU
If you do this again in the future, maybe do ranked voting? Like we each pick our top 5 arcs for each category. It produces more consistent results, and isn't really much harder to calculate.
Also not enough people voted for Egghead as the best arc
Egghead is my second favorite arc.
Too many people voted for egghead
Egghead needs to stick the landing imo. But it is gearing up to be one of the best arcs. I think if the ending is as strong as some of the pre-time skip material, Egghead will be undisputedly considered to be the best arc in the new world.
don't read the manga. not worth my vote
This. Ranked voting should be the norm for both politics and One Piece. I don't care for much else.
I'm a proud LRLL enjoyer.
And after chapter 1098 I just NEEDED it!
Seriously, it's full of silly games and Foxy's the definition of smug. Lol
It will always be in my favorite 5 One Piece arcs. 😊
Yeah, I really do enjoy LRLL, I feel like people's dislike for it is that it's kind of filler in a sense, but it's still enjoyable and probably the closest thing One piece will ever have to a tournament arc or something.
After a certain video about Zoro and Sanji being Luffy's perfect wings (not naming the channel but you should find it), I too have gained a new appreciation for it. Still not in my Top 10 or even Top 5, but definitely not among the absolute worst anymore. The anime just dragged it down so much further than it has to be.
Me too, it's in 5th place in my TOP 5. So funny.
If the anime had elevated it instead of trashing it it wouldn't likely be at the bottom.
I like bad things too my friend. I eat Chef Boyardee and play DK64 unironically.
Return to Sabaody is also pretty bad imo. They should’ve shown more time Luffy catching up with his crew (especially Nami) instead of giving a pep talk before setting out to Fish Man Island.
I think the things with the fake strawhats was kinda dumb, but that moment of Luffy dodging the pacifista lasers and going “too slow” before punching it into the center of the earth is one of my favorite moments in the entire series. That shit kicked so much ass
Honestly I love the stuff with the fake straw hats it's so funny
I'd love to see the full rundown of the stats
Thank you for the video! I always enjoy watching your videos! Yay! The results are in! This was so fun to watch!
Arlong Park was what made me love One Piece. Will forever be my favourite!
I’m currently only 13 minutes into this video but my god getting these number reveals got me feeling hype like we’re getting info on bounties. Idk how you captured this feeling for me Tekking, you magical man.
Edit: 18:40 😂
One could also view Water Sevem and Edie’s lobby like the cell saga from Dragon Ball Z
I agree with you, the problem people don't know the difference between a saga and an arc
Hey Tekking, could you maybe publish the results? I would really like to see the full "ranking". Thank you! Greetings from Germany
I will still never understand that hate for skypia it’s a beautiful story and I loved the stuff with noland it definitely had its slow parts but I still enjoyed it.
Can't speak for everyone but for me, the three generals and their fights were boring and they shouldn't have lost.
Next is Enel, Luffy only won because of 100% plot armor (rubber devil fruit). When you look at it that way it takes away the stakes
The anime's pacing of that story absolutely burned me out before the Nolan reveal.
Skypiea caused me to drop one piece for 2 months
Agreed I love it as Oda clearly wanted to flex his creative muscles with it and alot of it is just fun, plus it has some very good charachter development for Chopper and Nami plus it's the first arc with Robin aboard the crew. Zoro also get's his caliber phoneix/pound cannon attack here too. I will say the noland flashback comes way too late to the point that it's jarring when it happens and I also think there should've been one more priest. But those are the only real gripes I have with it, so much important stuff happens in that arc.
i think it's pretty universally because of the anime. my first experience with one piece was through the anime. i binge watched it several years ago. i gave up during skypiea because it was mindnumbingly slow. it took me like a year to get back into it. i think it's sort of a roadblock for a lot of new viewers. it's too bad more people don't get into the manga
fun fact: Did you know that Green Bit was originally going to be its own arc
Keep up the awesome work and videos tekking love the video
Crazy how there were all those amazing moments in Enies Lobby and you didn't even mention Robin's backstory or "I Want To Live."
Robin is kind of cheesy so her moment is pretty lame to most people. If that moment had been written better or Robin was a better character it would have meant a lot more.
Tekking101 needs MS Access to create a relational database of all Onepiece knowledge
Enies lobby was just chefs kiss
Tekking love that you put Christmas tree, I also have a Christmas tree with Pokémon in my room, got idea from you
I like LRLL. It's something different for one, Foxy is a fun if not threatening villain, and it introduces Kuzan. I'm also one of the people who think the Davy Back fight will get brought back.
I would love to see the complete poll results! I want to see where my favorite, Thriller Bark, landed.
Also, amd confirm that the only two arcs I've skipped on rewatch were Foxy and and post war Ace flashback (Wanted to get back to the strawhats together, because that's when the series is best for me. We need more oars like fights!)
100% agree, kinda weird he didnt post them in the description or something. i really wanted to see which arc was the most divisive,
ASL flashback becomes more relevant over time. So I could see it being enjoyable again with what we've learned over the years.
I'm of the people who count EL & W7 as one arc, simply because it feels like one consistent story rather than two separate ones, but I do get why others separate it. And in my mind I was, "OK, between these two, Water 7 tops for me." Because I'm a sucker for worldbuilding and setup more than for fights. Enies Lobby is a culmination. Water 7 is what catches your curiosity. I also have a soft spot for it because it was the fist arc that made One Piece feel... bigger. It told me there was more to this story that I have already fallen in love with than what met the eye. It was the first arc that hyped me for what came next. Until then it was all fun, but I took it in stride. Water 7 gave me expectations (that later arcs would deliver).
This is also why I love Sabaody. I was actually tossing between Water 7 and Sabaody for best and am bummed that Sabaody didn't make it. Another arc I have a soft spot for is Little Garden, because it's the arc that first got me hooked on One Piece (yeah, I'm fandom ancient. I feel old now). Punk Hazard is one of my favorites too. I also love Syrup village, I always feel sad to see it underappreciated but I also kinda get it. Marineford is absolutely epic and the Post War arc twisted the knife even deeper (another one I'm sad that it didn't make the list.)
And the reason why I think LRLL is the worst is because: a) Foxy and b) It's completely pointless. You could completely remove that arc from the manga, it wouldn't change anything. Take the chapters with Aokiji and make them a part of Water 7 and cut the rest, you would never know the difference. For people who would miss Tonjit: You could copy paste his story into any other arc.
people theorize that LRLL will become important later down the line. like the straw hats and the red haired pirates are gonna have a davy back fight or something. plus it explains how the Rocks crew was formed since iirc he got the members of his crew from davy back fights. i don't like LRLL much, but it did serve SOME purpose, i think
I'll tell you right now, most people DEFINITELY let the anime shape their votes. The ONLY reason Punk Hazard, and even Fishman Island to some extent, were voted as low as they were was because of the ATROCIOUS pacing they had in the anime...
It’s probably part of the reason, but those arcs were pretty lacklustre and disappointing in the manga too.
@@ZZPikachuheck nah dude
Nah bro, I'm manga only and fishman was top 5 worst arc for me for sure. It's not like the anime doesn't ruin the pacing of the good arcs too.
@@laurierhebert-jodoin5716 I did say "to some extent" for Fishman Island for a reason. I know that one wasn't one the best arcs but any means (although I do feel it's one of the most underrated). But I don't believe it would be in the majority's worst 5 if not for the anime. It's got it's problems, but if not for the base taste the anime left on people's mouths, I don't think it would be so high up on the worst arcs. Again, I know some people like you would still rank it that low, and that's fine, it's not the best, but I don't believe that would be the majority of people if they were all manga only.
@@kamikaze.33 What would you put under it?
Long ring Long Island gets so much unnecessary slander. Maybe it's just the nostalgia for me being that it was the first arc I experienced on toonami back in 2004. The Davey back concept was cool af and I'd love a movie that had all characters like stampede involved in a massive davey back contest.
I wouldn’t say it’s terrible (at least in the manga) but in the grand scheme of one piece it is ultimately forgettable besides the aokiji encounter. It added very little to the story and characters.
Afro luffy though🔥
naw, that slander is deserved
What was the most controversial arc? The one that ranked highest in worst and best arc?
It ranked at the hight for being considered one of the worst arcs by some people. But at the same time, it also ranked at the top for being considered one of the best arcs by others.
Probably wano, a lot of people have massive problems with it
@@diegonavarrete7423 Wouldn't be surprised if it was Wano. I personally voted it as my favorite in the poll, but I know a considerable amount of people hated the arc.
I think Water 7 and Ennies Lobby get lumped together as one because the villain isn't defeated in the first arc. Usually the villain only lasts as a threat for one arc unless its an overarching villain like Big Mom or Kaido. Impel Down and Marineford don't count because defeating the enemy isn't the goal.
Well I mean barouqueworks took several arcs to defeat
@animoments8969 That's true, but Crocodile wasn't directly involved until Alabasta, while Rob Lucci was in Water 7 and Ennies Lobby. I get what you mean though.
I mean you could also say that defeating the enemy wasn't the goal in w7/enies lobby because they were just trying to A) Fix/replace Merry. B) Rescue Robin.
Thank you for a great video guys
I dont think "favorite" and "least favorite" are necessarily synonymous with "best" and "worst" as far as the arcs go, but this is definitely some interesting information and analysis.
Well, Caesar *did* try that oxygen thing on Luffy again. However, it was revealed to have a range limit which Luffy was able to avoid.
im on the boat of water 7 and Enies Lobby are 2 different arcs, and i honestly feel the same for Wano and Onigashima, they are closely tied but if you separate one you need to seperate them both.
Cmon tekking! I wanna see the full results of the poll! I voted for impel down for best but I didnt even get to see where it landed!
Also, I knew it was gonna happen but im upset that Davy Back fight ranks lower than arcs like Syrup Village or Orange Town.
Super valuable list! I just started reading one piece and just finished the Sky Island arc and took a break at the foxy pirates. Glad to see what I'm up against!
For me, the best arc was Zou. I liked the different narrative structure of slowly uncovering what happened there before Luffy's arrival. Plus the reveal about Raizo in the end was one the best plot twist in the series to me. Also I liked the color palette and character designs in the anime.
😂 I voted Zou as my least favourite.
Zou was incredible. Idk if it’s my favorite… but it’s top 5
i like zou a lot, but i have a soft spot for amazon lily, they are both short very short and efficient, with a nice plot twist at the end
Animation could've been better. It was a good precursor to the great animation of whole cake and the current overall aesthetic.
@@DerekOfRivia honestly Zou is awful in the anime. The pacing is terrible and as you mentioned the animation is not good, but in the manga it’s one of the best arcs
I know my favorites wont ever be the "best" by popular opinion but they are sky island (i also include jaya 😅) thriller bark and alabasta
Ayy glad so many other voted for fishman island with me!! Was sooo lackluster
I’m so exited for this!
Water7/EniesLobby(I consider them as one arc) is still the best shonen arc of all time for me. It's honestly unbelievable how Oda stuffed many aspects into one arc and handled them well all together. Robin overcoming her past, Franky joining crew, the conflict with Ussop, and farewell to Merry. If it's your typical shonen these big themes come in one each arc but Oda managed to solve them in one arc without making any of them feel out of place. And the whole story itself was one of the best written in OP too. Oda was at the absolute peak at that time.
I don’t get why people split water 7 and enies lobby into 2 arcs
@@gelo3387it’s because they’re 2 different places, every island the straw hats go is considered a new arc so that’s why
@@gelo3387 Cause they are, together they tell like 90% of one of the most cohesive sagas in One Piece which is why It makes sense that a lot of people do put them together, but they do tell different chapters of that story, even the official saga and arc list that was published in Road to Laugh Tale has them as separate arcs.
Best of all? Sorry, but the Chimera Ant Arc in HXH is unbeatable.
Favorite arc: Amazon lily(obviously reasons)
Best arc so far: the marine ford war especially with how much it feeds back into the story even now.
Most interesting arc:skypeia
One I hope surpasses my expectations even more:egg head
I like when they were grabbing at Luffy’s jewels
Love your video !
Too us all. Whohad Voted. We doing out Part.
Finally. Included in Tekkings Vidoes.
At least Kind of. Great Work Tekking ^^
I wonder if the arc that got the least amount of vote in "the best arc" poll is the same as the arc that got the most vote in the "least favorite arc" poll.
I voted Marineford because Enies Lobby and Water 7 are each one half of a full story. If you read either one on its own, it wouldn't be satisfying because it is missing the setup and the conclusion, respectively. So, I think Marineford is the best standalone arc as it tells a full story that a complete newbie to One Piece could read/watch and get a complete, satisfying story and understand the character motivations and goals, the conflict, and the conclusion.
So Impel down doesn't set up Marineford?
@Halcon_Sierreno It does, but you don't need Impel Down to tell the Marineford story. At the beginning of Marineford, you know a group of foes reluctantly teamed up to escape a prison together on their way to Marineford. This all the dynamic you need to know about them. Ivankov and Luffy relationship, Luffy and Jimbei, and other dynamics get further flushed out during the arc. Impel Down certainly makes Marineford better, but it's not needed to tell the Marineford story.
Basically the reason why I didn't vote for best arc: W7+EL easy absolute win, EL alone is too close to other arcs
not a good comaprison ti try and defend imepl down or water 7. Impel down can stand on its own@@Halcon_Sierreno
Tekking I have been waiting for you to post your review of the live One Piece series on Netflix. You still haven’t posted a video reviewing episodes 6-8. When are you going to post those videos?
Matt, anyway I've been distracted the whole time trying to get your t shirt. It was covered enough that It took almost half an hour into the vid to properly see it and have a good laugh about it
Can we all agree that Enies lobby trumps all
I agree and it gets better every time I read or watch it, marineford is good too but it loses it rewatch/reread value…
Definitely up there, but there’s too many arcs that I love. Marineford, Impel Down,Sabaody, Zou, WCI and even Wano
All of manga, honestly
Anyone who voted Long Ring Long Land for worst needs a Buggy Ball fired at them.
I feel like Fishman Island was actually first built up to waaay back in the Arlong Park arc in East Blue. It's not just a few years. That's *decades* of buildup. And then what we actually got just didn't live up to expectations as much.
Tekking you should start a popularity poll and everybody has to Rank all the one piece arcs from S to F pr smth like that
48:48 HELL YES I WAS ONE OF 7!!!! ( I truly love Little Garden )
I’ve come to stop the Long Ring Long Land slander 🗿
I'd love to see all of the results!
Great video
The one thing I really like during the Davy back fight was zoro giving chopper a be a man talk. Chopper really looks up to zoro and it’s a little character development to him in a pretty filler arc. Also luffy saying he will never give up his crew
Davy back was awesome arc don't see why people say it's the worst, afro luffy is iconic and best transformation. Also foxy's devil fruit is one of the coolest powers in the whole series as well as one of the most powerful devil fruits. Hody arc & punk hazard were both trash way worse than Davy back
Why do people hate on Foxy and the arc? :(
We got some of the funniest OP moments ever in that arc!
7:29 With regards to splitting it by island, what do you do with regards to Dressrosa and Greenbit ? There is a bridge connecting the two but they are still separate islands. Do you view it as Dressrosa, Greenbit the Return to Dressrosa or as simply the Dressrosa arc?
Excited!
I think, since zoro can just like, cut down a horizontal line, i think as long as they are all in the same direction, he can probably kill a couple mill... the question is if the people hes facing hsve to run over all the corpses and actual distance, then he has time to rest aswell, so maybe infinite
My understanding as to why some dislike Punk Hazard is in large part to Law's body swapping, which admittedly could be confusing to some along side the splitting of the Straw Hats.
I switched from Dub to Sub around the time the body swap happened so it was kind of confusing yeah.
My main reason is Caesar Clown, I hate that guy, and I hated the people who wanted him in the crew even more.
Oda even had to remember in an SBS how evil this guy is and how much Nami, Chopper and Luffy hated him (because of what he did to the children and what he did to his own subordinates) to a fan who sent this idea to him.
I hated Caesar too. He was a dispicable freak who experimented on children without any regard for their safety or well being. But that's what made him a good villain though. He's one of those spineless villains your supposed to hate like Spandam or Wapol or Orochi. You're not supposed to like characters like Kaido or Doflamingo either but they're at least strong in body and mind and command respect. .@@leolegendario1
Matt would you ever do one for the top 5 strongest and weakest devil fruits?
is the data available, or can you please make them available? I am curious how the ranking for east-blue, paradies and new world looks like
I love LRLL. Its goofy, it’s fun, it’s short, and Aokiji has by far the craziest feat in the story up to that point. What’s not to like about it, really?

Impel Down and Whole Cake Island, where are you? Crazy that One Piece is so good that these 2 masterpieces can't fit in the Top 5 best Arcs list.
Enies lobby will always remain a formative memory for me. I was going through a really rough patch in my life, and watching one piece was one of the few things that kept me going. I legit thought that once I got caught up I would just end it all. Then enies lobby hit me, but more importantly, we see Robin’s backstory and the iconic “I want to live” I just, couldn’t stop myself from bawling my eyes out and proclaiming that I wanted the same thing too. Thank you Oda, and thank you one piece for everything you’ve done for me

I think Long Ring Long Land Arc is too underrated.
It is only 11 episodes. Some of the One Piece arcs are too long and have pacing problems, but LRLL was a good side story.
Random events like this arc help One Piece's world building. It was also a good enough setup for W7.
I personally loved Long Ring Long Land, it was a nice goofy palette cleanser, and after all the ass kicking the strawhats have been up to, it was interesting to see them be challenged in a new way. The introduction of the Davy Back was awesome world building. A shame it hasn't been brought back, but I have hope that Oda will bring it back in a big way soon
It's a polarizing arc. IIRC one of the live action show runners is a big fan. I dropped the show for like a year after watching it - couldn't stand it.
I agree that the Long Ring Long Land (LRLL) arc is often underrated. It's a fun and lighthearted arc that provides a nice change of pace from the more serious arcs of One Piece. The LRLL arc is also a good example of how Oda can use seemingly random events to further develop his characters and world.
One of the things I like most about the LRLL arc is the focus on character interactions. We get to see the Straw Hats in a more relaxed setting, and we get to see how they work together as a team. The arc also gives us some great moments of character development, such as when Sanji and Zoro finally admit that they respect each other.
Another thing I appreciate about the LRLL arc is that it's not afraid to be silly. Oda has a lot of fun with the over-the-top characters and situations in this arc, and it's a refreshing contrast to the more serious tone of the rest of the series.
And, I think the LRLL arc is a valuable part of the One Piece story. It's a fun and entertaining arc that helps to flesh out the world and characters of the series. I highly recommend checking it out if you've never seen it before.
Facts@@SOLDAT_MENDES
@@gladyslucas198 The live action can easily make this arc an excellent episode which would make any discussion about it even weirder because the manga version and the anime version are already not the same story. The manga version tries to use the Davy Back Fight to explore the straw hat dynamics a little more, centers around losing and gaining crew members (so Robin gets a perspective of a crew that will always get their nakama back immediately even if an other approach had led to an instant win and refuse to take a much needed shipwright) and introduces Aokiji right away as the finale of the arc - the ideas are good the execution is mediocre. The anime version starts stupid, stays stupid (the only thing that isn't heavily changed is the Zoro/Sanji fight), prolongs the entire thing with a second match and decides to ban Aokiji from entering the island. Besides having some stupid fun there is no value left.
I don't know if Tekking reads comments, but If you did read this: Could you send the full results? I'm quite interested in the arcs that are considered controversial by the community.
Long ring long land arc is the perfect set up arc for water 7 saga but by itself… oooof
Do you count syrup village and the gaimon island as different arcs?
(you said you count every island as different arcs)
Water 7 and Enis Lobby are 1 arc. They are connected via the sea train making them 1 region. Similar to coco island being the start of whole cake island arc despite being a different island. On that same note Jaya and Skypiea are 1 arc because they were the same island until the knock up stream sent half the island into the White-white sea.
I prefer Fishman Island over Punk Hazard
He was mentioned in alabaster. 37:14 miss merry Christmas explains why the dog is a gun I thought and says vegapunk did it?
He wasn't mentioned there. All Miss. Merry Christmas said was that it was because of the latest technology in the Grand Line that objects could "eat" devil fruits. She honestly, probably has no idea how it works herself. Kinda like how your average person today wouldn't know exactly how a smartphone operates despite everyone having one.
Whiskey peak is in my top five favorite arcs. It’s so entertaining. It introduces what the grand line is like. It shows a cool action scene on top of introducing a huge arc. It may be the nostalgia I have for it buts it’s so fun to me.
I'd take LRLL over Syrup Village any day.
Also, I'm honestly surprised Zoe didn't make it into the top 5. I usually only hear good things about it. Maybe because We were all traumatize by Dressrosa.
How people think Long Ring Long Land is the worst is honestly kinda crazy to me since it's so short and introduces a very cool concept with the Davy Back fight which I think 💯 will come back also most people's problems come from the anime version which is super drawn out but the manga version is short and sweet not to mention Afro Luffy like come on.
I also think the anime version is responsible for quite some backslash, yeah. I mean, I'd also rank it low not due to its own faults but rather ranking other arcs higher - but yeah, putting aside the anime taste is tough..
I honestly think the anime is to blame. It sucks because the arc seems like a fun concept. 2 crews fighting, not in actual combat, but in pirate games that end with crews losing/gaining members and it showed that the crew wasn't going to cheat to win. Idk it's kind of ironic people complain about it being a not serious arc before enis lobby when the stuff nowadays that's praised is the silly stuff with gear 5th.
In addition to the anime thing, I think it’s also the fact that the 2 arcs after it are considered some of the best in one piece by many, myself included because I love those arcs so much. So by comparison to what immediately comes after it long ring long land looks really bad by comparison, despite being a fine arc by its own right. I think thriller bark suffers similarly by this comparison tbh. Thriller bark is good but compared to the hype and emotional highs of enies lobby it is not nearly as loved
hey tekking, could you post the spreadsheet containing all the info from the polls? I would love to see where dressrosa placed. Thanks!
Maybe you can release the lists with all of the data so we can see how things worked out? Please and thank you.
the Foxy arc was definitely my favorite and no contest the best arc so far in Op. I mean Afro Luffy VS captain Foxy had me on the edge of my seat for the entire fight. I mean it was such a contest of power you didn't know who was gonna win until the very end.
Usopp coach talking to Luffy in English in the sub version is way too funny. And Foxys DF explanation like you know this arc was made only to spend a good time
Foxy after Enel works for the same reason Egghead after Wano works. The grandline shouldn’t always feel like a straight uphill climb, its a chaotic place where you may find any kind of island and any kind of enemy
Idk about you but the stakes rn in egghead seem just as high as during wano
I see what you were trying to do here but uhh Egghead right now does not apply.
@@daynearmstrong Egghead is good after Wano not for powerscaling but because a future island is the polar opposite of a feudal japan island

@Tekking101 you have to do a poll like this for the bleach arcs.
10:05 I want to take a moment to appreciate that awesome cross stitch.
Having Fishman Island as the 3rd worst is criminal. It's a top 5, even top 3 arc in terms of the execution of themes. And the whole purpose of the training 2 year gap was to then showcase that it was worth it and justified. The flashback is also a top 5 backstory.
People either love or hate Fishman island from what I’ve noticed. I think it’s the pacing, the build up that was impossible to meet and that Hordy Jones just isn’t a very compelling villian, which was on purpose but still it drags the arc down. Also Vanderdecken being an annoying, creepy pedo along with Sanji’s nosebleed issue just all combined into being a poorly reviewed arc. I personally still enjoy the arc, especially the world building and flashback but I can see why others don’t.
Yeah I agree it's not a fantastic arc but it's still pretty good, plus in my opinion it was refreshing that after three arcs in a row of the Straw Hats getting curbstomped Oda flipped it around and let them do the curbstomping for a little while. Plus the other straw hats finally got to meet Jinbei and interact with him not to mention the very engaging flashbacks for Otoheme and Fisher Tiger.
Fishman Island haters just don’t understand the nuances and tackling of dark themes. Defeating Hody from a combat standpoint was not the point of the arc. It was the reasons for why Hody’s defeat and how he was removed were so important for the fishmen people and their social progress
The haters be coping with their bad takes. @@buritomaster
Arc was incredibly boring bro stop it
If Fisher Tiger and Jimbe's backstory meant nothing to you, then I'm not sure what series you're reading@@justhere6507
It's not that deep, it's still a boring arc
@@Folau4Life dismissing the arc with the “it’s not that deep, bro” is a boring response. Hody’s “nothing” response for his racism ties into a lot of real life commentary. Fisher Tiger’s rejection of human blood is racism that was ingrained in him but tried to break out of. The subtext is all over the place, regardless of whether you read into it or not
Do saddest backstories next pls
Whiskey Peak is one of my favorite short arcs. It was fun to watch
I swear people only vote LRLL for worse based on public perception bc it's a GREAT setup arc for the W7 saga in terms of character work and themes, it's short, funny and the ending with Aokiji is peak. (also mark my words, Davy Back will become relevant in a future arc)
I feel like people hatin LRLL are anime-onlys. The fillers really drag this arc down in all rankings, cause in manga it's basically everything you love about OP - it's goofy, it's weird, it's creative, it's suspenseful, it's satisfying, it's super funny, it's SHORT and it gives us Aokiji, the first game-changing enemy on Grand Line level. I like it and I'm pretty sure Oda had so much fun writing that one
110% gotta be the anime's fault
luffy shot a gun a DOUBLED the length of the arc it was miserable
Fishman Island is the worst one
Something can be good and still the worst of what’s surrounding it like long ring long land is way better than Naruto’s worst arc
it's rated worst by OG fans because the anime padded that shit out like crazy and it was absolute hell to watch weekly.
it is fine when you can binge read the manga though, short and inoffensive breather arc. nowhere near deserving of "worst"
The LRLL arc is probably my most reread and rewatched arc solely because of Foxy. I loved his comedy, his character design, his devil fruit, his crew, and especially his laugh. 😂
Aw, I actually found Punk Hazard kinda fun. No where near my favorite, but far from my least. It's possible I feel this way because after Fishman Island my expectations were so incredibly low that it wouldn't have been hard to surpass them (when Sanji was put in Nami's body, I expected FAR worse than what we got - not that what we got was GOOD by any means, but, again, low expectations). Ah well, I'm more sad Whole Cake Island didn't make top 5, though not really surprised. Water 7/Enies Lobby are great - can't go wrong with those.
You should make a series where you figure the best double page spread per arc per week via poll (just like anima facts segment). Then at the end, we finally figure the best one piece double spread from all the arcs.
What exactly were fans expecting when it came to fishman island ? Did oda ever promise it to be an arc that would rivale enies lobby or anything like that ? I always saw the arc as simple but effective.
I'm pretty sure it was just how long it took to get there. I don't think Oda ever intended it to be a huge arc, I think that was more of the expectations of the fans after years of hyping it up.
its a lore arc
@@kozukitonio740excatly that's why I don't get the argument that 'Meh, I hate the arc because the villain are weak'...Like, THEY’RE NOT THE FOCUS OF THE ARC. Who goes into an OP arc and thinks:'Hm, the only way I'm going to enjoy this is, if the final boss is sick !"
@@buritomaster OK wise-ass , what would you do to have it not be boring?
@@buritomaster the weak enemies definitely wasted time , but fishman island had some of the best lore in the series . Fisher tiger's backstory the story behind the Noah, the reveal that luffy ahd roger ca both hear the voice of all things, and the reveal of a ancient weapon .
For all the hate foxy gets, his poster was in the live action out of everyone they could have chosen.
can we get the full results link or a picture of them i wanna show them to some of my friends
On fishmen island: the though part about this arc is that all the cool stuff and world building is subtext and the ugly part is in the forefront all the time with way too much time dedicated to Hody Jones & Vander Decken, two characters that i dont care about at all. The Sanji blood loss overkill joke was a big miss also. I want to like this arc so bad, but whenever i comeback to it those things stand out the most
