Clarification RM not join BTS, he is the reason why Bang PD the company CEO decided to create BTS ..
RM was in BTS when he made those songs. They have a variety of different songs, and have their solo songs sometimes 😊

1. RM officially changed his stage name from Rap Monster to RM in 2017 to mark a new direction in his artistic path. He felt that Rap Monster belonged in his past, not his future. Many ppl think that RM may stand for 'Real Me'.
2. RM, Suga and J-hope have a hand in producing and writing most of bts' songs. They also have been promoted to full members of KOMCA (Korea Music Copyright Association) which is
quite an accomplishment. They also have their own mixtapes: RM - RM, MONO, J-hope - Hope World, Suga - Agust D
3. J-hope and Jungkook are know as the most versatile members. They've been called Golden Hyung and Golden Maknae since they are good at everything. J-hope is main dancer and a dance leader, lead rapper, sub-vocalist, producer, composer and song-writer. At the beginning he didn't know how to rap. He trained really hard, writing lyrics, learning from RM and Suga. Even tho he is a rapper, he can sing really well too. He helps other members to perfect the choreography and adds his own dance moves. Also, in my opinion he and V have the most successful solo careers among the members.
Jungkook is main vocalist, lead dancer, sub-rapper (he used to rap a lot in their older songs). He is also really good at sports and produces for fun. These two are truly incredible. Other members are also really talented and hard working, for example Jin who had no background in dancing and singing before he joined the group!
4. Some random info but: In the future videos you might see them doing 'aegyo' - cute/funny actions. It is a part of korean culture but it may seem cringy for some international fans. There are idols who love doing aegyo and the ones who hate it but still doing it for fanservice.

Suga/Agust D is such a great rapper and producer. He's always being called for collaborations by powerhouse female soloists in Korea and they highly respect him. You should watch Interlude: Shadow next!
Also, I loved how everyone's first impression of Suga is him being the Korean Eminem. He is indeed, lol.

RM made those songs while with BTS. They all have solo songs within the group, and also release their own 'mixtapes' of solo songs apart from BTS as well.
That video actually isn’t updated as much such as fans and more but it’s got a lot of info about the members but like “ bts contribution to music “ has some more info on their music :)) and they have 136.4Million fans now on there it said 14 Million so we really grew :)))
No the music video "Do you" and "Joke" of RM was after he joined BTS. He was the first member so technically he didn't join BTS, they joined him.

you missed JIN's part - was studying acting in his university have no background in singing and dancing , got scouted after getting off a bus . Imagine you learned how to sing and dance after Joining BTS. Proud of each member for working so hard. the hours , works, efforts to be where they are now. I am proud to be a fan. THey inspire me to work evern harder. it is so hard to sing and dance at the same time and with their choreo , just dang, i cant even... i even get tired singing three songs in a karaoke and they do it for 2.5 hours at their concerts with their crazy dancing....

What's great about bighit, is that they allow BTS to have creative control in their songs, along with letting them have their solo mixtapes and songs. They're a really refreshing company in the kpop scene.

Just wanna say about the RM bit, that fortunately the guys can and do release their own individual solo stuff while being a part of BTS. Which is so smart of them bc it gives them a good outlet to still express themselves. RM did both of those music vids you saw while being a member of BTS 😊

Now that you read messages telling you that RM did his solo songs while in BTS, but it's important to remember that he did not give up hip hop to join BTS and still hasn't and neither did Suga. Believe me, they still spit fire in many songs being part of BTS (and with solos.) :-)
(I know I’m late) So to add on to some things...
-All the rapper’s mixtapes came out while they were part of BTS and the vocalist also have solo songs that aren’t part of BTS albums. their company supports and encourages it for the boys 💜
-Actually ALL the boy’s have their hand in contributing to their albums. They’re names have been credited on every single album. They write their lyrics, produce melodies, beats, etc.
-RM and J-Hope are also now FULL members of the KOMCA with Suga and the rest of the boys are associate members

You're right RM could of become successful himself but without BTS there wouldn't be BTS.. Because first RM and others from BTS but most RM writes all the songs that they have released
Plus he wouldn't have opportunities that he has have with BTS
Examples are : speaking to the UN, going to the Grammy's and win a Grammy, going to Billboard twice!! And tons of other things
What I'm trying to say is that everything happens for a reason and I feel like RM wouldn't change anything if he had the chance to go back
