    The open window is a poorly thought through format. Thousands of tokens that are the same reduce the collectibility of a piece. Scarcity (because quality is prerequisite) is how these things will accrue value. This market is in a total bubble, and many folks are going to get burnt. This is also harming the future of the tech. I love Beeple (don’t we all) but again, the value of the work is hurt by the relatively large editions. This is akin to having a bad gallery manage your career.

      I agree it's an imperfect method. So far my favorite is the raffle / lottery draw, which allows a smaller limit to be set, but also doesn't let the bots snag every single item. If you try to do a small sale of 10 or even 50, I'd have to assume all or nearly every item will go to a bot to be re-sold. It sucks, but that's the way it is right now. I'm not sure of a "perfect" solution, so I mainly look out for raffle drawings at the moment on Nifty.

      I'm seeing a lot of people in this comment section who have no grasp on the concept of NFT's and seem to believe it somehow mutes physical art pieces in reality.
      All NFT's are is unique proof-of-work receipts which we call "certificate of ownership" associate with a particular discrete data set.
      Nothing more, nothing less.
      No, "NFT'izing" your art doesn't mean no one else can "see" it. Yes, you can simply change one pixel by rgb(0,0,1) and it will generate an entirely new NFT. The value is speculative, which is nothing to ignore because speculative markets are entirely legitimate. You still need a backing market authority to verify that the NFT is an "original" or at least the original discrete data set (text, image, video, etc) which people "agree" is the "original", otherwise all you have is a very expensive cryptotransaction. The moment your NFT loses that market-backing you're shit out of luck.

    So the more popular an art is, the more people will buy it, the harder it will be to resell. So you basically have to search for arts which are underappreciated in their first sale.
    I recently invested in a bunch of CumRocket NFTs, because I think those will go absolutely parabolic as soon as we have a good marketplace for BSC NFTs.

    I thought NFTs meant each artwork is unique. So how was the Kolby Brian one sold multiple times if supposedly there’s only one true artwork?

    • @MattBorchert
      @MattBorchert  3 года назад +1

      They're unique in that you know that they're coming direct from the creator and any attempts to sell fakes will be easily verifiable. That being said, a lot of different NFTs come in limited editions or even sometimes unlimited editions (usually free stuff.) So with the Kobe Bryant one, they sold that for just a few minutes and however many sold are what sold. Now there will be no more of that particular NFT ever made by that artist.

      It's really slippery. There are ways around IP if you dramatically change the artwork or the context, but honestly even lawyers struggle to know what is and isn't okay. I'm still figuring out what this thing is about. The question is if everyone can go and look and enjoy this art for free, why do people buy it? Just to support the new industry and the artist? Why does the price go up? What brings the value to the particular art? What do I do with this art other than investment? Do I show it online to my friends and brag that I'm the owner of this thing? I'm kind of curious if there is space for an instrumental/game composer here. I just happened to stumble across this and have watched a few of your videos. It seems the music here is typically lyrical songs and also comes with visuals or a video to accompany it.
    I do a lot of instrumental work for game developers and some indie films and for the past 3 years or so I've been releasing free tracks on the side via Patreon. Have you come across any of these platforms that might have an opening in an area like that? The prospect of putting together a resource pack, so to speak, and running off a limited number of copies so only so many people would be able to use them in their projects/streams, etc. could be kind of cool.

    • @MattBorchert
      @MattBorchert  3 года назад +5

      Most of them are strictly digital items, but in some cases the NFTs will come with physical items that the artist or marketplace will send out to the purchases. Also, NFTs can be used as a token for denoting who owns a physical piece of art. The technology is crazy versatile in that way, and people are still exploring potential use cases. In the video I showed a piece of art from Trevor Jones where one of the people who purchased the item will win a physical painting that he did. We're at the very beginning of this so it will be interesting to see how people leverage the tech in the future.

    Trading and investments is all about caution and perseverance. Bitcoin is arguably one of the best investments now. I make huge profits on my investment since i started trading with Mr. Dani Emerson, his trading strategies are top notch coupled with the little commission he charges on his trade.
