I guess u can talk about reservations in India, but in US, they review ur application in a more holistic manner and u get accepted based on ur merit. Also, A degree from US will help your resume stand out among other applicants when u come back to your home country and apply in India as the US education system is globally renowned.

You don’t have to write anything on I20, I said if visa officer asks about funds, you have to show/tell the amount greater that what’s mentioned on your I20

I only applied to one university. And got my acceptance in a couple of weeks. Will that sound bad to the officer?
No not at all. Just do not mention it until you have been asked.
