Planet Fitness shooter will be in front of Judge Simpson a week from today... I was watching the cops respond to it and immediately thought of you. Sent the hearing as well, mad I didnt get a shout out lol.
Shout out to victorio12! 👍

Thanks for sending it to him @victorio12!
You watched in real life or is there video?
@@JasonMW45 I live across the street from PF.
Good for the detective for speaking the truth because that was major in the eyes of the judge and the people!
Not to mention the defendant
That part of Washtenaw County has the best fentanyl my neighbor's catalytic converter can buy
It’s true, Planet Fitness only has basic equipment for more casual gym goers.
It’s also one of the cheapest chains. Usually there’s an enrollment and annual fee but the monthly starts at $10/mo.
Being the low-cost, low-frills option tends to attract a certain clientele.
It also has showers and other facilities that are good options for homeless.
@@afishynado6812that’s literally all gyms…
@@poohbear01x48 true, but they're a lot cheaper than most. I meant in terms of affordability.
@@poohbear01x48they were talking about how planet fitness is the dollar menu tier of gyms and because of that, the comment about showers for the homeless makes sense. You're right, most gyms have showers.
I'm not a heavy lifter and I actually like the machines they have. Plus all the bikes and treadmills work at my location.
I don't get the hate. I've been to some other gyms and yeah they don't have the gym rat stuff like push carts, but they have enough to stay fit.
I'll tell yall what my concealed carry instructor told us. "Before you pull that trigger, think about this. Can you convince 12 people that you had to do it?"
To be fair, if you have time to evaluate that, there's likely an option that doesn't involve shooting.
McDuffie must be pressing tacks against her fingers to keep from laughing.
A lot of judges I watch make them go to trial once they start denying, making excuses, not taking accountability, etc.
"I didn't steal nothin"
Well that's technically correct, you did steal many somethings.
I vote you try to get Ms. McDuffie on your show. I'd love to know more about her.
I would love to have her on
I’ll second Ms. Mcduffy interview.
I’d love to see her prosecute a case. She’s so calm and professional
The selling of "Indulgences" by the Catholic Church was basically a pre-payment plan. "Pay up front and whatever you do will be forgiven when you die". Rather forward thinking of them really. It took the insurance industry 500+ years to catch up. The Catholic Church - ahead of the curve! Who'da thunk it?
Martin Luther wrote 95 theses part of which discussed his disputed view of Indulgences. He was excommunicated by Pope Leo X for not withdrawing them.
@@IANCHARLES1965 Yeah. They started out innocently enough as a way of making sure that knights going on crusade would not die unforgiven, then it turned into a money making scheme. Indulgences paid for the Sistine Chapel.
I don't like that Judge Fink ripped into him for the gun violence issue - basically telling him he contributed. Maybe he's guilty, but maybe he's not. But she assumed he was with only the knowledge from a detective.
He is still innocent until proven guilty.
I agree. She said on the record in a different case "I have no idea why anyone should or want to carry a weapon."
Uhhm a little thing called the constitution. I'm British and that rankled even me.
Yeah. Authority doesn’t like law abiding folks carrying. Where I live they sell insurance for folks who carry. It supplies an Attorney and Bind should you need it. I don’t know how good it is. It’s sad he was basically found guilty because he chose to carry.
She is a complete hack. She also apparently thinks that self defense can only happen in an open field with nobody else around.
Lol dude still shot a gun which he shouldn't have anyways.
@joshuawidener8407
Why shouldn't he have? Because the detective's report said so? We don't know why the fight started, what happened during the fight or if the defendant was in fear for his life. And he is innocent until proven guilty.
I like Judge Fink and I think she's usually rational. But when it comes to firearms, she is absolutely biased. Having an opinion is her right and I respect that. However, bringing a personal opinion to work when you're a judge and using that opinion to make statements, assumptions and decisions about a constitutionally protected activity (owning a firearm) is not okay. Her job has the power to take away a person's freedom. In that case, your opinions should stay home if they are a contradiction to the constitution. Just my two cents.
THANK YOU! I'd completely forgotten about Ben Folds' "B*tches Ain't Sh*t"! Lovely romantic tune - for anyone who hasn't heard of it 💖
It’s brilliant
Ben Folds is one of the GOAT’s. Best live shows ever.
I beg your pardon, that's a Ben Folds cover of Dr. Dre. 3 years ago Ben removed the song from streaming due to the troublesome message.
26:34 this is where I agree with the judge, when you choose to walk around with guns, and I don’t care if people have guns overall, I go to a gun range, so this is not an anti-weapon remark. But when you think you’re protecting yourself, and maybe you misread a situation. Because of this idea, then I’m going to protect myself, I wonder if they are at times, self prophetizing in the need to have it. Murders, road rage, and aggressively “protecting one’s self” from unarmed people seem to be the way a lot of people die or get shot by legal gun owners. I don’t know if it’s a Mindset or a culture thing, but we are way too OK with killing people
This! The self-defense, "redrum fantasizing" seems to get people in the mindset of being able to take a life in any circumstances.
Orlando Austin's best friends are Philadelphia Washington and Denver Los Angeles.
As an Aussie, the gun violence in the US is just staggering… Fink made the right decision for the public’s safety, and her trying to make a difference in any small way possible is commendable!
She says she's done with him, but you and I both know that as soon as the boyfriend gets released, Time Warp.Karen will be waiting at the gate with a shopping cart, 2 sleeping bags, and a $20 prepaid phone with the dealer on speed dial.
It's really sad all around for her. Meth is just an aweful drug and being hooked on it is ruining her life and making her do all kinds of things to afford her next fix. If she wasn't on meth none of these shoplifting crimes would happen.
Planet Fitness has a "no judgment" policy/ethos. They literally have an alarm that will go off if you drop your weights or make too much noise while lifting or anything else perceived as too aggressive. They also infamously have things like pizza day.
Pizza day at a gym?! 😂🤣😂
The judgmental anti-judgment is stupid, but pizza day is a non-issue. People rip them for it, but I enjoyed it when I was going to a PF (it's all I could afford for a gym membership at the time). People eat pizzas, even fit people. Having a slice of pizza at your gym isn't going to be a problem if you are already conscientious about your caloric intake. If you aren't conscientious and aren't tracking calories at all, then it already doesn't matter. It's a non-issue.
They don't do the pizza thing in my area anymore.
Mike!! I just saw you on netflix!!!
Trying so hard to catch a live and keep missing you by an hour! Either way...I love these posts but especially when there is a follow up appearance! Thanks Mike! I am enjoying your library here & hopefully I will finally catch a live!
"It had nothing to do with meth..." ALWAYS believable!
Not me feeling personally attacked by having a planet fitness membership and in fact, not going.
Planet fitness is known as a cheap place for the homeless, and those living in their cars, to take a shower.
Of all the judges you cover, Washington scares me. It’s like a running “dad look” the whole time.
Judge Bryant Scares me. I would not want to be in front of her.
Judge Simpson scares me :)
disanto is terrifying, but i can't stop watching her
Judges should be terrifying when needed.
I can't imagine any law-abiding citizen fearing these capable judges.
To be fair I know people with bipolar disorder who will have manic episodes and turn into kleptomaniacs, they never steal otherwise but in an episode it’s an impulsive almost psychotic thing. But that also points to very poorly managed or untreated mania, and unless you’re actually in a state of psychosis you’re still responsible for yourself and as an adult you’re responsible to seek treatment for your mental health issues. So I could maybe believe she did this in a manic state and would deserve leniency if she took some accountability, it’s kind of a moot point right now, especially if she’s also on meth. Hopefully thru probation she’ll find a treatment plan that works for her.
She looks a bit horizontally challenged to be on meth. 😅
Wow! That's the WORST sinus infection i've ever heard of...
Its really sad, they don't know that crap they take eats their organs up. Soon she will need her spleen, and others removed...so much for living a good life
Substance abuse doesn’t typically effect the spleen. More like the liver, pancreas, kidneys, lungs and brain.
Had many sinus infections and double ear infection. Not once, did I develop sores on my face. If she’s going to lie, she should have said she had an allergic reaction causing the outbreak🤦🏼♀️
Ikr? Face sores extremely common with meth usage vs extremely rare with sinus or ear infections. It's a no brainer.
I can one hundred percent believe she had those infections just based off the fact she's a homeless addict. Her health is very likely to be poor. Wether or not that lead to the sores I don't personally believe it, but it's not a terrible idea to hold that up as a defense given there's a small chance sores can develop, and she can prove she was in the hospital.
I get sores around my ear, the lobe, and my neck if I get /bad/ ear infections, but never all over my face.
@@StarParticleShade Yes. What you can get with ear infections look very different to meth sores.
@@doilysimpkin6972 oh,100%.
All over her face, too. >_> Like, chick - no one believes you weren't out there chasing the green imp...
Every time a defendant says, " this is (was) crazy" I know that they are guilty. That seems to be the only explanation they can come up with, and it's not an explanation at all.
Yoooo!!!!
THE Judge put this case on youtube to make an example FOR the community
Magistrate Fink now only streams cases with lots of community interest. Murders, shootings, really bad assaults.
When she stream all hearings. People were attacking her for non-professional things (looks , hair etc). Constructive criticism of professional work is alright.
I agree with you Mike! I NEED to know what happens with this case! Cops often “accidentally” add things that are not true…hoping to slip it by. It was done to me and cost me $20k to clear up! Cop finally caught lying!!! He was fired and his partner was suspended and demoted for not STOPPING HIM!! Good and bad in all professions I suppose…
Do you really think that cops falsify evidence "often "?
I’m backing time warp girl. I am confident she is on a path to rehabilitation. I think Mike is dismissive of her co-dependency with the home invasion guy because he generally distrusts women on meth. Plus I think she is crazy hot
Planet Fitness: "Judgement Free Zone." Also Planet Fitness: "lunk alarm"
I sure hope they find the rest of his guns. He should be barred from possess them for the rest of his lifr!
As Mike discussed during the hearing, the cop looked up the guys name again and found out that someone with his name - different birthday has 5 guns registered to him. So the cop corrected his previous allegation and judge Fink makes sure to correct and note it in her report.
That first woman, - I didn't steal those items, somebody gave them to me - Yet, she doesn't say who that somebody was....it was....just somebody :P
And I didn't steal nuthin'. Actually means you did steal something!!😮
4:20 She said "I know I've got to pay for my wrongs", but Closed Caption writes it as "I know I've got to pay for my ROOM".
He said, “I only have 1 gun registered”…. That doesn’t mean that he didn’t change his birthdate or buy other guns from the black market…
Good point. The admission is carefully worded.
Thanks Mike!😊
I don't like the judge judging the defendant this way at the arraignment. Especially if he's claiming self defense. He definitely doesnt want a bench trial.
And she’s bitching about the murder rate. Blue city blues- too bad so sad
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI - A jury has acquitted a man charged with shooting another man outside an Ann Arbor gym.
In the chain gym game they call those clients "sleepers". You don't bother them with deals or training plans because they might wake up and cancel their recurring memberships.
Uhhhm doesnt it seem like the judge already made up her mind ?
Defendant allegedly shot a guy in parking lot and then chased victim into gym while pointing weapon at unarmed victim & public.
Even viewing at best light for defendant actions were bad.
At arraignment, defendant’s story isn’t before her.
I was downstairs ...did she say she panicked and stole? Hokay
That woman should be held accountable... this is not right!
Never been on a live! How fun!
As with all guns. Guns don’t automatically go off. A PERSON has to pull the trigger. Banning guns is not the answer. Holding people accountable for their action and have them pay the price is what deters gun violence.
Except for the countries that actually stopped mass shootings showed us exactly how to do it.
We just don't want to.
Priorities.
It's almost impossible to get rid of a Planet Fitness membership too. Once the year is over if you want to be done, you have to give them in person notice or a certified letter. If you move to a place without a PF, you can't get them to stop charging you for all the money in the world. Even with the certified letter, and because of the way you set up auto payments, getting the bank to stop allowing them to take out money is a pain in the a$$. It's ridiculous.
Lady! There is a dollar store well, it is 1.25 now. But you can get one there and not steal a 7 buck clippers.
24:47 I Believed him about his gun, I don’t think he is this awful criminal, but if I had to bet, it was some sort of rage incident where he was pissed at that moment. When they said he followed him, you wouldn’t do that, unless you’re pissed. I have a feeling maybe the guy said something awful, but I don’t think it was self-defense. But I would love to find out.
Dang attorneys couldn't figure out how I got all these stolen items planted on me.
I signed up for PF mostly for the massage chairs, and i haven't gone yet. I can't even sham right.
I signed up 5 years ago for the red light booth and I've gone maybe 5 times. Getting rid of the membership is almost impossible.
I get planet fitness ads every time you mention them
That judge was WAY settled on the defendant being guilty, which is insane for someone who is supposed to be neutral
Have to be insane to think any neutrality exists in the modern world.
Agreed. Guilty until proven innocent. Definitely showed how she feels about it
If you're talking about the Planet Fitness guy, for the purpose of bond at arraignment the judge can assume the facts alleged by the prosecution are true. I still agree setting bail of a particular defendant based in part on general problems in the community is questionable.
This is a bond hearing not the trial. Different rules. The guy opened fire in a busy area. He is very lucky no one ended up dead.
@@emilys3757u have no clue what happened. You may as well have said thank God we the public are so lucky he was trained so when needed he hit only the intended target and even hit him in the leg so he could still live.
He said that he was traveling not driving. 😂
Oh, man, it’s Walter White!
He is a clean cut soft spoken young man,he is not some type of hoodlum. Showing that he was truthful can go a long way to prove whether he is truthful.
If it’s self defense, He needs to get lawyer and sit down with DA/police to tell his story. Or wait until trial and tell it.
If I shot someone (unarmed) in a public parking lot, the assumption will always be crime until an affirmative self defense case is made. Inside my house…different story. (Yes, I know laws very)
@@North_West1The only thing I disagree with is talking to the police, especially if you’re innocent. The risk of doing so far outweighs what can be gained from telling an agent of the state about a crime you may have committed
@@jordanmorris5194100% agree. There does not exist an incentive to talk to police about any investigatory theater where you involved without representation.
The fight occurred in the parking lot, the shooting happened in the inside the Planet Fitness. Witnesses say he pursued, if they can prove that he cannot claim self defense.
Seems to me people want to use the gun rather than get punched, which might be legal technically, but it's a vagina move..so dude in the thread who shot an unarmed person, I hope you were actually being threatened, because it doesn't seem like this douche in the video was being threatened..
I don’t carry a gun. I have some at home but I take Johnny Cash advice. I leave them at home. I keep my mouth shut and mind my business. Now I don’t blame anyone who does carry. But I don’t want to get mad and shoot someone. But that’s me.
22:47 gun violence is plaguing America right now. 😢 we have to be harder on the people that commit the crimes with guns, period. When they get in trouble take them forever.
Thanks 😊
That judge dont know the facts of the case just yet. She was wrong for saying that
She may be wrong yes. However I think for a first bail hearing she should take the word of the police officer. There's another hearing before Judge Simpson in a week.
I AGREE
The police report is the same as testimony and I think the police are considered extensions of the prosecution in terms of providing and collecting evidence so they're required to be completely truthful in the report and in the court as some kind of officer of the court . That has weight in terms of being believed.
Being truthful like claiming a defendant has 5 weapons when he actually has one.
@@onemorething100right
I will NEVER go to Planet Fitness. It’s scary there and bad things happen. Imo
People use Planet Fitness for the tanning. It is WAY cheaper than tanning salons and they have great beds.
"scratch that"? LOL...
I am a Planet Fitness member - they're actually quite decent, and are cheap as fuck.
At least my local one has a pretty good range of equipment. (in Australia)
My concern would be cleanliness of the locker rooms.
Planet fitness actually is partially to blame because they do nothing to curtail homeless people from going there for showers for $10/month. That draws the undesirables and is why there is so much crime surrounding that company.
I blame them
Judge is NOT saying alledged, was he convicted? She talks like it is a done deal.
Muck Fichigan… “I don’t give a damn for the whole state of Michigan… ‘Cause I’m from Ohio”
Mike, is that a sharpened toothbrush?
Ebony needs to turn the light on😅
12:40 you are 100 percent correct. I've been going to Fitness almost 2 years now. . This is actually the business model. the classic membership is only 10 bucks a month but you can only go to the gym that you normally go to you can't go anywhere else and it the rest of it is very limited but if you only have one gym near you then it's worth its weight in gold the problem is is that after every every Christmas there's always an influx of people. Because in January a lot of people are doing New Year's resolutions so they join the gym. because 2/3 of the country is overweight. also some people get Planet Fitness memberships for a Christmas present and so they go for a couple months and then by March it's all emptied out with all of the Christmas / resolution folks. But it's too much trouble to cancel because in case you ever wanted to go back it they figured hey it's only 10 bucks a month you're paying so they keep the membership. Make no mistake. because this business model Planet Fitness is a gold mine. The PF card is only 25 bucks and it's also worth very much. Planet Fitness has changed my life. and I know that it is a sneaky business model but it's brilliant. Plays on people who are mostly overweight in this country
Yup. Memberships may go unused for ages, but it makes people feel like they're trying.
I just thought of this northville is kind of on the way from Ann Arbor to detroit
😂😂😂😂It was a sinus infection. Not meth. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

It’s well know that a Sinus infection can produce open sores on one’s face. 👌🏻
I believe a lot of Boondockers use a planet fitness membership for access to a shower.
If you live on road van life, RV, or out of car PF membership is great for locker room. Inexpensive and almost everywhere

Planet Fitness is the Popeye's of gyms.
So, you're saying it's WAY better than it's older, more famous competitor? 😉
Planet fitness, as seen on Law Talk With Mike.

She’s bitching about the gun violence? Talk to your DA and Governor but it’s definitely self inflicted and I find it hilarious
It’s true about Planet Fitness! Lol
Where or what is the Pines?
Jail for many is the best rehab.
Fink would round up every gun in the country if she had her way. Every single gun case that comes before her she sets an unaffordable bail.
In this case, that's a reasonable thing to do
After setting a $500,000 bond there is no need to list restrictions IF he makes it. But I realize it has to be done.
Is it Miss ‘Huey?’ I couldn’t see her face during the first hearing. She sounded elderly. She’s a young woman. My beautiful older sister was an IV drug user for many years. She died in 1995 at the age of 39 from complications from HIV/AIDS. So sad.

I can tell this woman is anti gun
Being armed is fine 2nd amendment is great, but you don’t shoot an unarmed person if you’re that quick on the draw, you have no business carrying a firearm.
I hope we see the result of this one.
I would not be accepting Karen's plea deal, she didn't take any accountability for that.
That is the exact business model of planet fitness. I joined planet fitness, and I only went two times. The first time I went to join. And the second time I went to cancel my membership which you have to do in person by the way
This judges viewpoint on anyone who discharges a firearm at someone is insane. She is effectively stating that there is no reason to shoot someone. If he proves his innocence (if he is), this judge should be punished herself.
Punished for what, exactly? Correctly using the charging information to determine his bond? Expressing that, if true, the allegations are outrageous?
She clearly feels that there is never a good reason for unprovoked or unjustified shooting, especially in a public place. Seems reasonable enough to me.
@@CanadaMatt she’s going off the assumption that he’s guilty just because he shot someone… at least that’s what she verbalized. Maybe the charging documents show reason for a huge cash bond… but the way she described her decision is that nobody should use a firearm, and if you do, you should be punished regardless of the reason… just because there has been lots of violence in the city/county.
@@CanadaMattalso… I went back and rewatched. He told the judge he had the 1 gun for “ protective purposes”, to which she replied “but that’s not what happened.” She’s already made up her mind. And she set the bond based off incorrect information from the officer, and didn’t change it after realizing the mistake and knowing that he had no firearms at that point given that his one firearm had been seized.
@@Kaleena43I certainly am no expert on the laws regarding Bond in Michigan, but I believe that they are supposed to base the bond decision at least in part on a presumption that the facts alleged are accurate, without assuming the defendant is the one who did it. I do agree that he could have received more credit for his honesty.
Agreed. Treating the defendant as guilty for bond is fine (its how you're supposed to do it) but then she kept going on trying to berate him for using a gun as if he's automatically guilty just for using a gun
Is bullet dodging part of their cross fit workout? Ammo is cheaper than equipment. 😂😂😂
Your sinuses, pharynx and ears are all connected by ducts.
I just want to stand up for her -- I have had face sores from bad earaches. The puss that leaks out is foul and can pock the skin around your ears, but not really ALL over your face.
I frequently suffer from earaches - it's total hell. When I have really bad drainage, I'll get sores on my earlobe, chin, and neck. Any time I get a sinus infection, I'll get an earache, and that earache then turns into a huge problem. I've always had issues with this since I was a kid. It's better now because at least it doesn't infect my hair follicles anymore like it did when I was itty bitty.
But for real - you can break out from ear infections if they are severe enough, but *NOT* all over your face. It's localized unless you're washing your face with the leakage.... which...omfg ew...
