Kev, this track and tbh this entire album shows a band at the pinnacle of greatness. They have been together so long everything simply flows and is natural. As I said to you before, they are in my top 3 bands and have been for a very long time. I'm envious, as you get to hear the catalog for the first time.
I turn 50 years old this year, work a physical job 12hr days, and thankfully I still heal very quickly. But I know my time is coming. I feel it more every day, as this song means more to me every day, likewise.
I know how you feel. Imagine how confounded I was at age 22 back in 93 hearing this shit. Go back, start from the beginning and it will eventually start making sense
It's often thought that this song is about Tool's own act of releasing this album in the media environment as it existed in 2019, where songs were generally overproduced and vapid, and kept to short lengths with immediate hooks to maximize Spotify listens and ad plays. Meanwhile, Tool said "Screw that, our album is gonna be full of 12 minute songs, and you're gonna like it." Basically, the old guy still has some fight left in him and shouldn't be ignored, as the lyrics suggest. And by god, it worked. It debuted at #1 in the US, and won awards and was in the top end of many annual lists.
After hearing Tool for the first time i went out and bought the best set of headphones i couldn't afford ...i worship this band and everything they do......i want it all...!!!!...its the best thing you can possibly do for your ears , spiral out..
@@kevinty7 ruclips.net/video/2AmrIydnXIs/видео.html There's another one you might want to check out if you're not familiar with iron maiden awesome live performances
More Tool bro. No offense, but there's lots of people "who know music" that have never heard them. I would be willing to bet they are in your top 3 favorite bands, by the 4th tune.
@@kevinty7 cool man. I will be looking forward to your other tool reactions. Also, A Perfect Circle. If you aren't aware yet, it might be good to have the lyrics pulled up to follow along. Keep the vids coming my dude!
Totally enjoying your reactions, and not just because you are clearly having your mind blown by the best band/music in the universe, though that does help, not gonna lie - but because you heed your commenters. Now that I can see you and not the album cover, I have subbed for your Tool journey. Spiral out, friend.
I’ve been a tool fan since 92. Saw them in concert in a small basketball arena in Orlando in 94. 3 concerts in total now. Literally 4 feet away from Maynard the entire time in 94. Anyway, this might be my favorite song from them ever!!
Very Jealous of your TOOL concert history - This is one of favourites of the few tracks I have heard - I have gone back to the start with Undertow and absolutely loving it 👍
Here with you. My suggestion is for Lateralus. My favorite is Bottom from first full length album Undertow and the most insanely brilliant would be Descending off Fear inoculum.
Very few have reacted to one of my favourite Tool tracks. It's not on streaming services, but can be found on yt. "Merkaba" off their Salival boxed set
@@kevinty7 Nice mate that's cool to here. I feel like they should be as widely known as Pink Floyd. I know that sounds like a big statement, but I 100% stand by it
Awesome that you have found them. This music is life altering for most of us Tool fans. I honestly couldn't imagine life without Tool because I listen to them daily. Each album has its own sound and the evolution or growth they sustain is special. Every song has that signature "Tool" sound but somehow is different at the same time. Every album is the same. I hope you just bite the bullet now and do a start to finish catalog review. Tool fans will watch. You have only just begun, my friend. May I suggest Pushit, the Aenima album version and then listen to the live Salival album version. It's something special where Tool made a masterpiece song and had the guts to redo it for a different effect and it worked.
You are in for a treat for the next couple weeks. This four of the best musicians at their craft doing their own thing and making it sound amazing. Right In Two is a must and Jambi
Wicked reaction vid bud! Love the ticker on the bottom of the screen, fantastic idea. And great job on the research, And man I swear that house beat at the end of your vids is gonna make me take my strobes, disco lights and DJ stuff out and throw a party 😂. That beat is sick! Really enjoying watching your Tool journey. Cheers!

Mate, excellent reaction. 👍 Audio quality is a bit off on your videos, fix that quick. But love your enthusiasm and energy throughout the track. You should try Parabol and Parabola next, it's worth the longer reaction video, and is a further step in understanding Tools message. Nice job, looking forward to watching more of your reactions 👌
This album was #1 in billboard LP beating Taylor Swift when it was released. This song sums up what happened after. Swifty fans had a huge uproar about an old band that hasn't released music in 12 years beat their idol.
What a piece of drumming kev wow, it went on a bit to long in my opinion but what a song . If there’s ever a tune for Brew and Banter Jousting tournament 🍻👍🏼

@kevinty7 the video is 'clipping', every couple of minutes it pauses for a split second, just makes the experience a little disjointed.
