🙏Thanks for sharing your experience. I also just received a Bose Amp but unfortunately it does not have the RCA Aux input so I have found input the pins of the 9pin plug from a manual online, unfortunately the image does not show if they are referring to the male end or the female receptacle so I am puzzled 🤔
Thank you! I’m a pro AV guy and have 6 of these sitting around from a customer tear out to convert to Sonos. Now I can use them FOR Sonos ports! Super educational!
I have exactly the same setup only with 3 times the Bose SA-3 amplifier. I want to control all 3 by only 1 potentiometer and i need to know of it's possible to connect only 1 aux input and interconnect the rest by the Bose-link cables via in-out
Thank you so much for this video Michael, really useful. Question: You mentioned that without the potentiometer it operates at about 30% of it’s actual power.. still it DOES have audio output right? Before using the VAC output I’m interested in only using the RCA connection but I don’t know if there’ll be any sound. Thank you!
I am using it with alexa. I have to keep the volume range from 8/10 to 10/10. If it detects no or low signal for a few seconds, it will go to sleep. Unfortunately this is not configurable using dip switching. Bose showed some cleverness here 😂
Hi Michael, having issues with amp powering on, green light is once then three blinking quickly. Had it working last week. But now the green light isn’t on all the time. Any suggestions, thanks Peter
@@peterclark355 Constant slow blinking (1 sec. on, 3 sec. off) The amplifier is OFF (standby). Continuously lit The amplifier is ON and ready to produce sound. Yo, i got all the bose stuff but the radio broke, so i got another radio (different brand) but the aux thing doesnt work... i put the switches as in the video but it still doesnt work... aby ideas?
Do you think it would work ok to simply hook up a pre-amp to the aux rca connectors? Or is it necessary to use the VCA connector for the volume? Just wondering so I can hook up multiple inputs like a cd player or tuner. Thanks
What a wonderful "How to" video. 👏🏽👏🏽

Yes, but it will be very quiet and may go into 'sleep mode' if it doesn't detect a high enough audio signal for a certain period of time.

Any issues with the unit cutting out when the volume isn't high enough? Mine cuts out and will only stay on at high volume
Thanks, I'm listening to the rest of this video controlling my $7.50 goodwill amp 😂

@@MichaelODonnell Can we bridge this amp
So what happen if the green indicator light goes on and off every 3 seconds what is that mean cos mine acting like that recently
It means that your amplifier is powered and is on stand by.
This one is 100w per channel. Bose 251 are better for this
