This game has alot of systems in place that would be delivering an excellent and very brutal/gritty experience if they weren't so bugged and were slightly expanded upon. I do think there's a very good chance fixes and improvements will happen though, seeing how dedicated to updating and improving the game the devs seem to be.
It's such a shame, the game is so good but the devs are MIA
The aimbotting a.i. from across the map is a serious issue. Also clearing entire maps, doing everything required, and no mission completion is infuriating when it happens.
i think a lot of it had to do with outsourcing and a lack of quality control, thetes so much good about the game but theres also so much wrong with it
@@Crimson34533They literally announced they'd be taking a break for the holydays and they are already back, announced a public roadmap for this year's updates and hotfix #3 and #4, calling them MIA already is kinda stupid.

Head gore imo is the most important aspect of gore in a modern shooter game. Good head gore can basically carry a gore system. I think good decals are a close second. I hope to see improvements to the head gore and some gibs to sell the idea that someone's body was just broken in a gruesome way instead of the current system which kind of feels like GTA San Andreas gore but modernized and with some decals. I do like the idea of the dynamic deformation and the little bit of "face gore" we have is a nice touch, but the more the merrier
I'm really enjoying this game, it feels gritty and makes you always stay on guard, it needs adjustments tho, at the moment it doesn't still feel like a proper "1.0"

The chunks are vanilla!? That i was not aware of! I never had it activate (noticeably at least) until i began using the visceral blood mod, and figured it came from that. Not a bad system whatsoever. I do hope they iron things out though.
One of the changes with the mod is increased distance for the blood running down to activate. Perhaps that works for brain chunks too
Yes they were, rifle headshots usually have chunks most of them time, atleast for me they did.
Around 3:00, I see clothing flop around in a glitchy manner. It really bothers me when a game can't do cloth physics right, especially if it is clothing.
However, I DO like that cup/trash bouncing off the dead character at 7:51. That's neat that the environment acknowledges a dead character.

You could take a second look at Cyberpunk... I'm quite certain their response system saw a revision with 2.0. I felt that explosion dismemberments looked particularly awesome.

Also interessting why the player dies from one single stab by NPC. As we surely know it takes more than 23. Varg kinda prooved it.

overall, it's not a bad system, it looks ok but it can be kind of repetitive and look the same across many surfaces/clothes/vests.
it has a good amount of BUGS, i'm also having performance issues; getting constant 120fps in most areas, but when I use the optiwand, look down or go outside it drops to 20 or 30 fps no joke. it is unplayable at times and my buddy is having the same problem. a bit of an underwhelming release all around but there is a lot of attention to details in many areas, i hope they'll fix this stuff with time.
I have a suggestion. There are some new mods for blood and gore for Cyberpunk and RDR2 i was thinking maybe you can give a try a video on it would be nice

@@RandomMadnessChannel there are several mods for cyberpunk tbh to name there is one called next gen blood textures, blood fx egghanced, increased blood ZKV, more blood splatters received updates and there is another one called more gore

About the no exit wounds thing I’m pretty sure it depends on the caliber and what type of bullet you use. A 9mm won’t penetrate through the body but an AP 5.56 will. If you were using Jacketed Hollow Points on the 5.56 it won’t penetrate though.
As for the lack of blood puddle for incapacitation I’m pretty sure that’s for a gameplay reason to tell the player if they are incapacitated or dead without the HUD popping up and showing it. I think it would be better to have the character writhe on the ground while a small blood pool forms. This also can help you differentiate between those that are faking death and the incapacitated.
Doubt it's caliber dependent because an FMJ of any caliber in the game will penetrate an unarmored body with zero issues. Even a JHP will overpenetrate unarmored targets quite often.
There was actually an animation for the incapacitated state when Adam update was released, it was showcased in the video I made back then

Love the game, really disapointed with the gore, but I do like the impact wound from lighting someone up, but the blood has gotten worse since 1.0 imo.

I really wish they'd fix the dismemberment first and foremost. I genuinely think the gore in this game would benefit quite a lot with the addition of partial dismemberments before full destruction.
Maybe they could use a reference from Hard Bullet or Bloodtrail, which are a little weird but good starts
bloodtrail is goated. thats what i would expect from a "ultra realistic" swat simulator. ready or not is such a disappointment. but it was to be expected since the first steam release. it was obvious from the get go they didnt "get it".

Lengthy death animations that are basically the characters bleeding out for minute on the ground would be amazing if you are focusing on a less lethal run, with an chance to call dispatch for an ambulance and finish the level with the characters possibly being alive
About this one, I played the crack\meth house properly, had one SWAT member down. He had to keep laying there bleeding because I had to find that one other stash of drugs to complete the mission

The lack of animations (not only in the gore aspect but as in, how everybody reacts to the situation, because at the moment it feels very artificial) and the big mutilation making limbs go to the shadow realm makes the game feel so unfinished
And the fact that the team is already focusing on another game doesn't give me high hopes

theres a gore mod you can download in the mod menu and it fixes most of the issues. more accurate and detailed blood splatter, wounds, etc.

9:06 i totally agree with most of the video but on the death animations, I gotta say they dont really have to be that long because they try to keep it somewhat real and in reallife most of the suspects just flop down and tense up so that kind of animation isnt really "questionable" but more realistic as most human beings dont stumble for 2 minutes unless they are still alive. Look its not perfectly realistic but it gets there. I even got a situation where a suspect ran straight forward with his head into a metal pole and the animation stopped at the perfect moment so he just knocked himself unconscious. I can see it getting unrealistic when it seems like that they still fumble or touch theyr knees in pain and suddenly go into ragdoll, that needs some improvement.
I really dont know how they managed to break the animations tho.
I think zero hours response mechanics would suit ready or not the best.

Are you perhaps running it on an HDD? Moving it to an SSD made a difference on my end

Yeah, but not really worth making a new video on one new head variation. It does look nice though

The game's very buggy as of now. Hopefully a lot of the issues will be fixed with time. Their priority right now should be performance, game balance and wonky AI.
wow it was rally half assed. crazy they would do this while advertising it would be a ultra-realistic swat experience. i remember the original dev log where they promised these intricate specialfx, bloodfx, gorefx, health and damage systems, advanced ai. its like they didnt put any effort on it. the ragdolls are the worst part, theyre a bad joke. now theyre moving on to a new game? yikes... glad i didnt buy this semi scam.

I feel like this review is a bit too generous to ready or not since the main selling point is a realistic swat experience in a gritty setting and the gore can actually ruin the experience for some people since most of the impressive features rarely happen and most guns dont work with most of the gore system, i feel like a resident evil style gore system would work best since its the most realistic and it also allows every gun to have equal use of the gore system and could enhance certain aspects.
I wouldn't call that dismemberment remotely the most impressive feature. IMO that would be the wounds, which is the main response you'll be seeing on the body. I don't think RE style damage would actually be good here, but I agree that it should do better in the other aspects where it's lacking
