Never really felt the need or had the desire to try the Pyro, in spite of its popularity. Decided to give it a try a while back to see what the hype was about. Absolutely fell in love with it, and it should be a staple in every players bag, especially for courses in the woods.
I have a Halloween 2022 Resistor. I have no forehand to speak of but the Resistor and Tesla work well for me. For my hand, the Resistor can fly very straight-flat with a very solid fade finish. Great for down a stand of trees then hook right to the basket (RHFH). I have an Entropy for short range, and the Tesla for long range.. and the 3 relate well to each other.
I bag them both. I use the Pyro a lot on approach shots in the 250 range. If a need a little more distance but than the pyro and don’t need the Fireball distance I go with the Resistor.
Great vid. I have both discs, bag the resistor and have for awhile. Lost my original neutron one that was starting to beat in to perfection. Got another neutron as replacement in lighter weight and it flies similar. Neutron definitely not as stable as your eclipse. Recently bought a plasma pyro but haven’t put in much work with it. I do feel like it might overlap a touch with the resistor so thats been my hesitation. I prefer to carry less discs for most casual rounds but I could see bagging both for tourney play.
The neutron Resistors are less stable - Like the hyper flip you described. I bag two: and eclipse for dumpy placement shots and the neutron is my go to comfortable driver. workable flight up to 375 for me
I love the Resistor. I actually took the Pyro out just because the Resistor perfectly fills the spot between my Fireball(firebird) and Entropy(zone) It's just a baby firebird, super comfy to forehand vs a mid. And like you said on the last hole, it ends up being more useful in that scramble shot type range where you need to chop or flex it and need the movement left/right where even a beefy putter doesn't move like that. It's fantastic in the woods and it also works wonders on short range super spike hyzers and grenades.
The glow Eclipse Resistor was one of the first discs I ever bought. Just got my first ever ace a couple of weeks ago with it. 280 ft shot downhill into a headwind. I already always bag one, but it'll never leave the bag now.
eclipse resistor is silly. neutron is still beefy but not as psychotic. there was a neutron run with a slight dome a couple years ago that might be the best disc mvp ever made. some slight drift before hooking up.
Pyro filled in a gap in my bag. I use it where I don't need a Firebird speed, but a Firebird ground bounce and not a Harp shot where my disc has to sit down. It is right in the middle of both.
Resistor is the greatest disc golf disc I have ever owned & thrown hands down! I’m lucky enough to own two protons from their limited edition run way back.
I ve got a Resistor but it ain't in the bag yet. got my Pyro literally 10minirus before your video dropped xD fills the gap between runway and reactor i hope
The resistor, the pyro, are 2 staples in my bag. Shoutout to the reactor compliments the resistor well. Def less stable and holds a line for a long time before a consistent fade. Great for inbetween a hex/ buzz and a pyro
I hate to say it but eagle’s run of the resistor is the same as yours. He purposely uses the glow one because the neutron isn’t beefy enough for him. I know he throws hard but something in his throw puts some sort of out of plane rotation on the disc I think. I saw a video where he was wanting a disc more stable than a fireball… those things fly like rocks for me - I may not be the biggest arm, but I can throw about 400’.
I love the resistor .. it's like a baby haymaker ( remix very over stable 9 speed)
resistor is GOLD. Sidearm, wind, sort hyzers

Resistor is one of my favorites.
It was in my bag for a long time. Super reliable and any overstable shot within 300ft is perfect for this.
I wouldn’t say the Pyro is an underrated MVP overstable disc. It’s been in the top of recommended overstable mids for 2 years now.
Yeah that honor belongs to the Deflector or the the streamline Runway

Resistor feels great and are getting better and better😀

Need to try the Deflector. 2023 OTB Proton Soft is so amazing. Pairs well with with the Pyro and Resistor.
My 6.5/7 speeds are 2 servos 2 resistors in neutron+glow plastics, working real nice

Used to bag both of these discs! My current mid lineup is Uplinkk, Core, MD4 and MD5

I bag multiple resistors. One of my favorite molds

I have a resistor, that thing is stupid overstable! I love it for those flex forehands and flex shots

In MVP midranges... the Deflector is the super beefy bossman and then the Pyro slots in behind it for a very reliable overstable disc.

The Pyro and Resistor have both had permanent spots in my bag for almost a year. I have multiples of each in different plastics.
I love my Eclipse Resistor.
Can't wait for the podcast!!!
the Pyro is OP.
Never threw a pyro. Feels like dog $hit.
