the Copa seems to be absolutely ridden by controversy over bad or inconsistent refereeing, and unfortunately it seems to be fuelling some conspiracies around CONMEBOL bias. Someone compiled a spreadsheet after the group stage of fouls per yellow card received, and the 5 with the worst ratio were all CONCACAF teams. It took Uruguay 36 fouls to receive 1 yellow card! Been really entertaining to watch, though. Every team just going at it, very little of the slow, statistical play the Euros has seen.

Very disappointing tournament from the US. Berhalter has taken alot of the heat and rightfully so, but the players need to be held accountable as well. Once again they failed to live up to expectations and take that next step. So much talent but never any progress. Tons of work to be done before 2026.
Spain got robbed, first of all, Cucurella's "hand" wasnt penalty because there were both an offside and a previous Fullkrug's hand that invalid the action. Second of all, half of the german team should had been expelled before the second part so shut up and learn a bit about football before talking

It's not about entertaining at a tournament, it's all about winning. Spain were boring at the 2010 World Cup, they won every knockout game 1-0. Same as Greece in Euro 2004. You don't get a trophy for nice football.

This Euros format doesn't help. We were awful in the group stage, but guaranteed to progress after just two games and 4pts. There was no risk. It's been a boring tournament, but given the choice between us playing well v Netherlands in a thriller and losing, or boring our way through two games with Southgateball and winning it (unlikely I know😂) I'd choose the latter. It would feel hollow in a way, but a win is a win.
People can critique Southgate all they want no one looks back on teams and how they play its about the result at the end of the day. A lot of the big teams have been disappointing tbf, france with their attackers still haven’t scored a goal from open play btw with the worlds “best striker” mbappe is so over rated
