    It’s been a few years since I’ve done garment sewing-I mostly do quilts and slipcovers these days-but I can follow your average Simplicity pattern. But wow! To be able to create your own pattern from scratch, for a wedding dress no less, is amazing. I know enough to know this is way beyond my skill level. I enjoyed watching though! And happy birthday to your pretty girl!

    Will you be making a plus size gown in the future? If so could you make it with a very large bust around an H cup? I got married in a size 14 wedding gown and it held maybe a D cup. Looking for some detail and clarification as I am trying to make structured daytime dresses. I have also gained lots of knowledge from you and little tips to make my already made clothes fit better. Happy Birthday to your sweet little gal. I hope her purple dress is everything she wanted.

    • @MomthatSews
      @MomthatSews  5 лет назад +2

      My next wedding dress which should come out next month will be in a size 16 (my size) with a D cup. If you draft your bodice block with proper measurements, you shouldn't have a problem with how large your bust is. I will do a detailed video on this, this week.

    As for you, I’m sorry that you’re not feeling well. Drink lots of hot liquids and take plenty of steam showers to help rid yourself of that nasty cold.

      Yes. Please rest and take care of self first.
      I didn’t realize that you were adding lace. However, I still ❤️ and want to attempt the version you have here. What additional finishing tips would you suggest if I’m not adding lace, and adjusting the bust size (D-DD cup, and 14-16 street). Thx!

    check vids of Tat ia na Ko zo rov its ky for button loops and wedding stuff, i think it will help a lot. Also maybe a walking foot on the stuff that the machine doesn't like? Lastly hydrgene peroxide 3% should be enough and if it is fresh fresh can be dried already but fresh (like few h) , just cold cold water should do to wash the blood out

    • @MomthatSews
      @MomthatSews  5 лет назад +1

      Yes I have watched her button loop tutorial so many times and tried and wasted an unspeakable amount of material trying to get it like how she does it LOL! Its Witch Craft! I am goingto continue to search for great quality already made ones. Thanks for the tip for the blood!

    You are awesome!!
    Have learnt alot from ur channel. Pls i do have a couple of questions..
    1. Can pattern drafting with contouring to control gaping give me the same beautiful effect as this? Or do i have to include negative ease( i dont know much about draping)
    2. D loop u put at d armhole side and d elastic at d waist pls whats its function.

    • @MomthatSews
      @MomthatSews  5 лет назад

      The base of this gown was actually a bodice block, not draped, I just used the dressform to figure out where I wanted my neckline to be. You can definitely do some contouring maybe at the side seam would be a little more inconspicuous I am not sure what loop you are referring too and the waist band is actually made from crepe. It is just there for design

    Do you use a serger/overlock machine to prevent fraying?

    • @MomthatSews
      @MomthatSews  5 лет назад

      I don’t, I find that you can see the impressions of serges seams through to the outside, that’s why I prefer to fully line all my dresses. If I have a really fray prone fabric like taffeta I would overlock then, lol, I don’t want the dress to fray away.

    @kloekollection1850 5 лет назад +1

    I’ve really been wanting to try to make gowns and more intricate things but I’ve been so lost on the drafting portion and all of the components to these dresses 😩. Where do I start!

    • @MomthatSews
      @MomthatSews  5 лет назад +2

      Start with a bodice, skirt, and sleeve block. Once you perfect the fit of those, you can make ANYTHING.
