@dragonballfanscantread2383 in terms of sportswashing it's pretty cut and dry. For example , Japan topled America in baseball recently producing some of the best talent the MLB has ever seen. But , they also have a culture unique and don't scuff out on other sports ( like the rise of the Japanese football team).
It's also like a religion there , but it's inbreded in their culture and they treat it with a lot of respect instead of making it a straight copout.

Yes, England won’t have had a better chance to beat India in their own back yard. It’s been a depleted India side throughout the series but some of the new names have stood up at various times in the series. So in some ways it’s been a useful exercise to blood new names for the future. Flip it around, it’s like if England had gone into the series missing a combination of Pope, Root, Stokes, Foakes, Anderson and maybe one of the spinners for part of or all of the series.

It's generally quite hard to win the Test series in India as you will need to win important moments than sessions. 2004 (Aus) and 2012(Eng) wins were backed by their team's impeccable batting and some master class bowling.
Mind you SL has never won a test match in India despite holding some of the best spinners. That will simply tell you how hard to snatch a test victory there.

This was England's best chance to win a series in India after the 1st test. With no Kohli, no Rahul, no Pant, no Shami they failed to seize the opportunity. You need to bat well in India, unfortunately their lower- middle order failed to perform. It is their bowlers that competed. How long will you back a Bairstow?? It is his 3rd series in India if I am correct. Even Stokes has not performed at all, he shies away from taking responsibility, this was series where he could have batted higher up since he was not bowling, his technique got exposed also, he is not getting fully forward while playing spinners, always tries to stay back. You can't always do that in India. England's best batter in this series has been Zak Crawly and Ben Foakes and Root because they have trusted their defense.

Bumra is extremely dangerous with reverse swing conditions. England themselves have experienced it this series. If bumra was around this test, i honesty dont think England would have got that 1st innings score they had. The ball was reversing even for the debutant akash deep in 1 st innings but he struggled to control the reverse swing which is something Bhumra is master of. This test match if not the series appeared exciting not because of basball but due to the absence of key Indian players. Patidar going bat instead of Kholi shows the level inexperience side India has. But their other debutants like Jurel and Jaiswal are quality players and proved too good for this English side.

As a test team, England won more under Stokes than under Root.
Root as a skipper led a team that played conventional cricket and won only 1 match out of 18 test matches, that is as bad as it gets. So whatever Bazball has done, it is certainly better than what conventional cricket has given to England cricket team.

Big shame from an England perspective but well done to India. Better than us in all departments across the games so far. Frustrating as England have been in it, it’s just been those crucial moments where we’ve not capitalised. Also the middle order just have not given us enough runs to compete, and with a young spin attack who will always leak runs, your batting is gonna have to be exactly on point to stand a chance.

I've been watching England's International Cricket team for thirty years now and it's always the same. England go from home on the couch one week to flying out for an International series the next. Never any proper build up to a series. Then the same old story, you can only ever get one batsman to show up per match and then it's only for 1 of the 2 innings.

India will win this series 4-1 for sure. But England gave run for their money. England spinners are inexperienced due to which they lost this game. At home, India had lost only 4 Test Matches since 2012 (for almost 12 years). Indian batsmen know how to play spin in India. In England, Dukes ball will swing wherein in India SG ball will spin due to the spinning track. Hence India find it diffcult to win Test Series in England for last 10 years. Same is the case with England wherein they last won Test Series in 2012 in India. incidentally that was the last Test Series India lost at home😃

I think what England team and its fans will be most disappointed about is not the 145 all out in 3rd innings(because the pitch by that time had become extremely tough to bat on and all England batters got out on very good balls instead of throwing their wickets) but the 46 run lead which they got instead of ideally getting at least 80-90 runs lead but Ollie Robinson missed the simplest of catches of Dhruv Jurel as he could not see that ball and at that time, England was still leading by 80 odd runs.
