Great content. And you are learning alot about working on the engines. Love it. Could you do a in depth vid on what vacuum ports to block off on the carb and the ones to leave open. I am guessing you have a broken ring. But like others say. Run it to see if it is just excess oil in the exhaust. Also make sure you check the PCV.
Yes i make a video about that. This truck onthe other hand had a simple aftermarket carb on it which only had to connect VAC adventure to. I thought about the PCV. actaully looks new... so who knows. ill run it and see what happens.
@@mizeadventure9438 hahah yeah, I’m trying to track down any cruisers in Peru for less than 5K but it’s pretty hard, and most got round headlights but I like the squared a bit more :)
Given that it's been standing forever and you don't know the details of the problem from then, compression test seems fine, stem seals now done, you mention it was overfilled with oil. Is it possible some random pool of oil has got down into the exhaust and is heating up as you run her? Is it worth just running her for say 40 mins at road speed (i.e. under load, mid-higher revs), to see if it burns off?
I could agree. Im just worried about driving it long distance since i really dont know much about the truck or the motor. like i said in the video the old owner said it just quit one day. so who knows. of course whatever i end up doing you will see it on my channel
Hey mate. Love the videos. Just wondering if the blue smoke was billowing out of the exhaust all the time while driving or if it disappears after the engine gets warm (5-10mins)?
Glad you like them. It doesnt.... it actaully only appears once the truck is under load. Like going through the gears to get up the street. in the last clip when i park it you can see it has no smoke coming out.
I actaully just got another parts truck with a decent motor. tune in next week to see that truck and motor. I also was thinking about just rebuilding it. but pistons are on back order
@@mizeadventure9438 Stoked to see what you come up with. I’m originally from NC, and seeing all your videos with so much green lush background makes me miss it sometimes. CO where we live now has its own unique beauty though. Keep up the great work man!!
How long did you drive the truck after you replaced the valve seals? I've had motors take some good running time to burn off all the oil that leaked into the system from bad parts.. (whether it was rings or seals). I'm sure you thought of this, but it never hurts to bring it up. I know I've certainly looked past easy stuff after having my head jammed up with troubleshooting.
thats a good point! i did think of that. i didnt run it very long after drove up the street and back. so maybe ill run it for a while to see what happens. again doesnt hurt to just run it.
Time for an LS MOD,better on fuel way faster and sounds way better.Keep old motor for full original restoration and 100000 plus payday at barrett jackson.Wow you yanks smoking something
I just love the retro pin stripping or decals on that 60! Really classic
YEAH! me to!! really brings the truck full circle!
Amazing the amount of work that Jonas does to get these videos out plus the work he does on the trucks! Awesome! Love it!
Try to!
I learn so much from your vids
I agree with other comments...let the motor run.
Love that!

Could you show someday how to do a conversion of a round headlight 60 to squared headlight 62?
Ha I can. I suppose although I would rather go 62 to 60. haha it not that hard of a conversion to do just need to track down the parts.

@@jhonnyesdiosylavoz2392 HAHA Love that! honestly its not hard to switch over like I said. good luck with the finds.

Bummer about the 2F, have you reached out to Classic Cruisers in Poncha Springs, CO or Valley Hybrids in CA for another 2F?
