Check in one year later:
Currently at 311k words and I'm going to have to split it into 2-3 books. If I'm ever good enough to get at least the first one published, just know that this cover of yours was pivotal in not only starting the damn thing. But it alone allowed me to write 80k words of the most key scenes. And I come back to this often whenever I need to remind myself of the emotional tone of the whole story:
- Horrible circumstances
- Desperate stakes
- Hope that is on the cusp of dying, hanging on by a thread to survive
If I ever make something of my work, I'll make sure the world knows where my inspiration came from.
Keep doing God's work man, I wish there were more people with creative vision like you.

Man, something I loved about DMC 3's soundtrack is that it combined classical instrumentation with hints of electronic effects without it feeling too unnatural. So honestly I was a little disappointed that right off the bat in DMC 5 the soundtrack was mostly popular instrumentation.
As a clarinetist who is fascinated by orchestral direction and composition, I loved this, although it is true that with voices it would sound epic.
Edit: The guitar solo during the last cadence... Wow

Seeing the views, I thought this wouldn't be anything special, but I was proven wrong. The production quality is great and this definitely deserves more recognition than it currently has. Great job overall.
If I may give a suggestion, I think it would be really cool if you overlaid the vocals on top of your instrumental version. I'd love to see what it would sound like after that.

@@robertslump9217 You could also use Victor's vocals. There are a few people that have uploaded some pretty clean versions of a full acapella BtL, so I'm sure you could use them for your instrumental version. If you want to hire a vocalist though, that's fine too.

Absolutely Brilliant, badass and beautiful. This is like a dream come true. I love Vergil, this song and orchestral metal in general so combining them was a perfect move and this seems like an amazing metal cover overall. I don't know how long you're going to be replying to these messages, but I wanted to start out by saying this is great...however, it is yet to be amazing. Why? I feel it is because of how you sliced the second chorus in half. For a lot of folks who love listening to BTL, the second chorus really drives the song home as it reinvigorates us with another bridge that sounds even more empowering; coupled with the fact that it helps to piece together Virgil's troubled story to how he has finally reached acceptance and understanding. Vocals aside, that one little change can improve the cover a lot--and you can even add your own spin to the second bridge by making it more powerful or incorporating more orchestral instruments.
Edit: to better describe what I'm saying, it feels like I'm getting blue-balled when I listen to the second chorus being only the first half of it.
