Thank you for the review. I'm considering buying an RV for the first time. My 90 year old Korea War veteran father recently passed away and was buried with military honors 2 days ago here in America. I took care of him and my mother until be their last breathe these last five years. Right now, I just want to get in an RV with my dogs, drive somewhere to clear my head, find myself again and be free to grieve without anybody telling how especially by people who don't know what it's like to lose both parents and never been their parents caregiver who had debilitating illnesses. Its exhausting and I'm glad I was able to be there holding their hand until the very end. 🇺🇸🇰🇷 Rest in peace Mom and Dad. 🙏💞
Very sorry for your losses. My mom passed in January; I was her caretaker/only child/travel buddy roommate since her husband passed 5 years ago. A huge part of me wants to get an RV, adopt 2 dogs & wander for a while. I hope you get to get away, find peace and some happy places. Stay safe, well & blessed.
@@robgindc1 Thank you and I'm very sorry for your loss too. Learning to live without then is very challenging. I wish the you the same and may you find your dogs. Their unconditional love made my losses more bearable. Be safe and well too.

Very well thought out and an amazing price. It might not be big enough to hold many American egos but those that want a simple and affordable way to travel it fits the bill.

LOL. Sorry no can do. This camping car is very tall and high with very high center of gravity, so it was not fun. Thanks for watching our motorhome or camping car from Hyundai. Thanks Moonwalker.
Yeah, i mean, but it was hot on the filming day and producer Kim was telling me the same thing. Thanks for watching our review on the 1st motorhome or camping car from Hyundai. Thanks Alek.
@@AsianPetrolhead Perhaps Hyundai's finest engineers and designers can convert the front passenger seat into a cooking area for delicious korean foods like 삼겹살구이 especially if you are a 뚱보
I enjoyed the review. I could actually see myself buying one of these at that price point if they bring it to the US. However, they’re going to need to change that name.

@@AsianPetrolhead Do you have shorter one? To me, the high bed in the front and the sofa bed is enough. No need the bed on the rear. But a shorter bus is easier to drive and park. Also with smaller van, the price should also be more friendly to people. Thanks!

I have owned a Hyundai Starex 2.5 Premium 2012 for ten years now. It has a little over 184k km. At 5yrs just 2 weeks before the warranty ran out the service department discovered a problem with the engine and ended up replacing most of the engine. The Starex was a great daily driver. We always had it serviced at the dealer and had no complaints. Service from staff is excellent. So we are more than willing to buy another Hyundai. I would highly recommend Hyundai consider expanding their market to the US and selling the Porest there as a base cabover truck with an accessory detachable truck camper for part time campers and consider the same for the KIA Bongo platform. Thanks again for the excellent review. Stay Safe, Be Well, God Bless.
This things looks so well engineered that even with its modern aesthetic all I think it would take to dominate the western market is 4x4. So much of that internal layout is genius.
If it was well-engineered it wouldn't have the trouble it will have climbing 6% and 10% grades out west. This guy is not qualified to tell you if this is a good RV to buy or not. He doesn't RV. This RV will have a lot of trouble climbing 6% and 10% grades out west I promise you. My credentials: I've been RVing the west for 12 years.
As someone who is researching RV's at the moment, I think this is an amazing option for someone with kids who is interested in a Van build, it gives you all of the amenities, and actual live-able interior height, but I have some concerns: 1. For the price-point (comparing to actual motorhomes), I would have loved for the button controlling the smart room to have been on the inside of the rig, and I did not see any sort of leveling gear? 2. There is no propane storage/easy hookups 3. The cartridge for the toilet is interesting but is it reusable? 4. I would have loved to see easy solar hookup or solar prep, if this doesn't already come with a solar panel installed 5. What is the fresh water and grey water capacity on this? and how do you dump your grey water? 6. Again for the price-point, I feel like a backup camera should have been included. 7. I hope the microwave is at least a convection? 8. I did not see an outlet in the kitchen area where one could easily plug in a cooktop? 9. The bathroom seems really amazing for the space given, I would have loved to see you step into the shower, as a taller person I fear the shower needs to be taller, I also feel like that basin is unnecessary and cumbersome, also is there a fan in bathroom for ventilation, and can you sit on the toilet while the door is closed? 10. Is there storage underneath the 2 passenger seats? And what is the seatbelt situation? Can you hook up child car seats? Although all of those issues sounded negative, I do think they are easy details to take care of, but all in all this is a very interesting concept, I actually would really consider getting this RV as I think it would be perfect for especially National Parks etc.
You shouldn't. This guy is not qualified to tell you if this is a good RV to buy or not. He doesn't RV. You need to do a lot of research before you spend thousands of dollars on what internet bloggers tell you. Most are not qualified to be talking about the subject of RVing. It would be a great move to bring prices of motor homes down. Here in the states, sportsmobile, winnebago, and other makers charge a ridiculous amount for these things. 90-100k is not what I would consider a fair price.

$100,000 here for junk that will leak within the first year you buy it it's all about gouging money out of people this motorhome is beautiful look at all the amenities inside
@Drakilicious I suspect it is not intended for normal people, but rather, the wealthy families who want to occasionally cosplay as middle-class folk. I went camping last year and the ratio of tents to campers was 50%. It was pretty surprising.
Imagine if Hyundai makes this for the us consumer direct from a dealer ... that would be amazing ( one thing would top it ... if they make an off-roading version lifted suspension, metal bull-bars , lights , wrench ect and the amenities and tech that came with their new sonata and genesis and bring some cool off-road tech exterior look to it ... it would be baller If they do that ... I have no prob getting one and I feel it would be a hot seller for the overlanding ( off-roading ) community
Me and my husband are ready to buy one now but seeing this -- thinking to just have more patience until this come out in 🇺🇸 .. Hoping it'll come out in the next few months!!
I think it is advisable to install more positioning lights along the body, reflective panels. When traveling more safely, other vehicles are easily recognized when operating on the highway. Given the large size of the vehicle and the extended width, this is a necessity.
Very good review, much better than the last one, I think that outdoor storage unit next to the outdoor shower is also known as the Mother-in-Law suite......Thanks again for the review the Porest looks cool.
Hyundai has moved like no other automotive car maker in recent years. Carry more of that technology over to this vehicle before you ship it to the US - by adding a few hundred dollars worth of these refinements you'll find a willing market here. Hundai may want to consider the ground clearance for people who don't necessarily camp on level concrete pads and AWD. Solar capability is almost a must have in 2020. After they see how well it sells in Korea, I hope they'll consider the US market.
Those are great idea. Are you listening Hyundai? AWD and more ground clearance. Thank you for watching our review on the 1st RV, motorhome or camping car from Hyundai.
Yes, Steve. This is the 1st camping car from Hyundai and looks promising. Thank you for tuning in. And if you love cars and car reviews, please do support us by subscribing. Thank you.
This is almost my perfect camper. Raise it a few inches and add at least an AWD option (I don't need true 4wd but I know others will want it) and if it's sold in the USA at this same price point, I would buy it in a second. A pocket door option to close off the dedicated bedroom would also be nice, but I guess I could always add that later.
You're really going to call a low priced Hyundai camper "Poor-est"? 🤦🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️ Please change the name in America 🙏 NO ONE in America wants to drive a camper around that's pronounced "Poor-est"!

I love it. Size and options are awesome. I can’t believe North American Rv manufactures haven’t caught on to the fact that no one wants a 28 + foot Ford Triton V-10 gas guzzling disgrace anymore. I wish we had these here, they would sell to the masses.

Miles on highway and local roads... didn’t see any electric sockets to plug in any appliances....what about Wyfi capability. Gotta have Wyfi. Probably will ask nearby dealer in NJ if it’s coming to US.
I am from the U.S. and am highly impressed with this camper. I agree with Charles Mackey. The raised ground clearance would be a big issue for me, it’s a must. It looked to me as though they would only have to raise those side panels to accomplish it. I could see Solar and AWD as options but not necessary. I absolutely loved the rear passenger chair versatility and the bed coming down from the ceiling! The extra bed in the rear was great, as well as the large fridge. Most small campers I have seen only have a very small fridge. Whether the rear bed was present or if it was changed to two twin beds perpendicularly in the lower price point, I would still buy it. My only concern would be how well the smaller motor could pull the camper through the mountains, Rockies or Appalachians. Even the smoothest highways can get steep. Thanks for such a great review!

Occasionally a person sleeping in an RV or van has to quickly move the vehicle in the middle of the night, due to noisy or harassing people. I hope that sliding room can be closed from inside of the RV, instead of standing outside to close it.

For the North American market, a 2 burner stove--pprop;ane usually--is mandatory not just for self-contained motorhomes but even for minimalist camper vans.

@Zach Galifianakis you've been to South Korea???? The short koreans you've talked about no longer exist ... in fact, good economy, good healthcare, good access to food, Asian are very tall now in countries where people are not poor... here in the USA, the average height is only 5'10".. so Americans are not a tall country.....

The diesel would give it decent mileage and range. European diesel emissions standards are pretty strict too. They should be able to meet the US standards. A gas version wouldn't get more than low teens, mpg.
It is a small but pretty cool low end camping car at the price of a trailer. It is amazing how much stuff Hyundai packed in that small camper. I would definitely consider that instead of buying a trailer for a casual camping journey.

Nice. But am wondering where the power for the TV, microwave and hot water comes from. Is it stand alone off grid or do you have to have power supplied at a campground hook-up.

Absolutely bring to North America ASAP...suggestion is to make the slider an option (not needed and introduces cost/complexity - so cheaper still, and great for 2 people) and add option for inductive cooking vs. microwave...looks awesome otherwise...
The engine reminds me of some of the old Toyota RVs from the 70-80's. Wondering if they offer solar. The layout is nice. The mirrored sink will be an issue for fingerprints, but that's life. Still like the design 😍 Perfect for one traveler or a couple. That's all I need.
That's amazing. The only think that could be improved upon is the bathroom. There's a lot of dead space in the upper half that isn't used most of the time. The whole bathroom could be enclosed and counter height unless in use, which is when an accordion-type door (like the one used) could enclose the area from the counter top to ceiling. Of course other details, like having a hose with a shower head that can be attached to the wall, would be easy to work out.
Looks very well crafted and has some nice features. Designed with a close look at the US RV's This Hyundai represents a relatively new caravaning culture in Asia. For evolution, comfort and style check and compare with RV's such as Hymer, Detleffs, Carthago etc. which stem on a much older European caravaning culture.

That's the 1st slide-out on an RV that I like. The numbers on the instrument cluster look easy enough to read but I would still prefer white faces with black numbers and the LCD screen is too small. If there's an aftermarket racing gauge cluster to replace it that would be awesome. These two little things will prevent sight problem of washout in bright sunlight. When does it come to USA and will I be able to purchase from standard Hyundai dealerships? The Porest name would be removed or covered over immediately upon delivery.

There are some smart designs in it, perfect wash room, A/C and front bed are great but there is no stove, no trash can, no hanging closet and in general too few wardrobes to put your stuff especially for four. I think no matter how organized you are, with for people there would be constant disorder in there. Also didn’t see any outlets! 4 people means a lot of devices to charge. I think you should increase the length with 14-15 inches and fix these shortfalls and incorporate some additional storage below the seats in the front if possible. I don’t see the need for 6 beds in such a small camper. In the back you should split the window and move them to the sides so that you could put an “overhead” storage instead of the back window. Of course in that case you gotta sleep with head to front which makes harder to come out of the sleeping box but it may be a good trade-off for some extra storage. With a bit smaller storage it might not even necessary to make. Pretty important spec the water capacity and the battery type and size which we didn’t get any info of either. Make sure to mention those in the next review. Overall the price sounds good yet the value for money ratio could and should be increased.

@Asian Petrolhead - like your style (direct and simple). As for the Porest, I like the product, but I do have questions: How well does the Porest perform going up hill on FWYs? Does it have enough power? What is the mileage on the Porest?

I live full-time in an RV (Recreational Vehicle) here in the USA. For a small RV this seems to have great features. Doubt it can/will be sold here but it is intriguing! :)
A nice first attempt at a motorhome with a good entry price. It definitely needs a more powerful engine though. The in-screen graphic for the "Porest" needs to also be updated to show the proper outline and not the outline of the "Porter."

@@AsianPetrolhead I am a senior citizen in for the American Market this would be very nice for me I am only concerned that generator or whatever less that's only six hours and there is no reason why they couldn't go to wind sensor awning. The bed from the ceiling was awesome but don't need all this seats and bedding below it. Big TVs internet and side cameras and security alarm security lights All around. GPS rear side Cameras. Raise it up for mountainous roads. 4 season it. Kitchen area could be made soon much bigger. Prefer recliners. Just thoughts. Outside gutter for rain Just some ideas to pass on. Thank you. Do you know if there will be a model of the year 2022 in South Korea of the Hyundai Porest? It seems to me a very valid option to travel around South Korea and more nearby countries like Russia. Thanks for the video and take care all of you.

Thank you for giving me the link to find this video. It is a very nice car. I like how the seats can convert into a bed and also can face front when it was a seat. That means you can have young children with car seat in it. I believe that require 3 points seat belt. You might want to change the seat belt to that. Also, I like the car has a slide, it will make extra space. Something missing for me is the windows. Both on the master bedroom(just one is not good enough, both side should have one) that has slide, and the smart bed should have the winders. Nature light is important, it will make your car looks bigger and also enjoy the nature view. If the car has windors like that with 3 point seat belt, I will have any problem to buy one. It is a very nice camper in the first place.

“Actually”....ya, lol. He needs another word, he’s worn actually out.
Excellent review.. He meant it for practicality and real world.. Though he forgot to mention weight.. 😉
Lol
Every inches counts
Its so tiny outside but inside has plenty of space ,love Hyundai
I’d think the front passenger doesn’t need seat warmer during winter time since the seat is right above the engine =p during summer however.....
Yeah, i mean, but it was hot on the filming day and producer Kim was telling me the same thing. Thanks for watching our review on the 1st motorhome or camping car from Hyundai. Thanks Alek.
I agree. There's gotta be some sort of insulation Hyundai can throw in!
@@AsianPetrolhead
Perhaps Hyundai's finest engineers and designers can convert the front passenger seat into a cooking area for delicious korean foods like 삼겹살구이 especially if you are a 뚱보
I have mixed feelings about a camper but I’m definitely sold on this one
What are you waiting for....These are fantastic!!!! Bring them to the USA!!!!!
It is currently available in USA saw 1 at my local dealership
I enjoyed the review. I could actually see myself buying one of these at that price point if they bring it to the US. However, they’re going to need to change that name.
Yes, Jeff Hyundai will have to come up with a new name, but i think this 1st RV, motorhome or camping car came out great. Thanks Jeff.
Changing the placement of the motor would be most important
A very well thought out and thorough review. At $70k, this would be a no brainer in the US; but I think we’d need need a lot more engine.

@@AsianPetrolhead Do you have shorter one? To me, the high bed in the front and the sofa bed is enough. No need the bed on the rear. But a shorter bus is easier to drive and park. Also with smaller van, the price should also be more friendly to people. Thanks!
Price great , Design Great !! Go forward Hyundai !!

As someone who is researching RV's at the moment, I think this is an amazing option for someone with kids who is interested in a Van build, it gives you all of the amenities, and actual live-able interior height, but I have some concerns:
1. For the price-point (comparing to actual motorhomes), I would have loved for the button controlling the smart room to have been on the inside of the rig, and I did not see any sort of leveling gear?
2. There is no propane storage/easy hookups
3. The cartridge for the toilet is interesting but is it reusable?
4. I would have loved to see easy solar hookup or solar prep, if this doesn't already come with a solar panel installed
This is a really solid, engaging, and interesting review. I am a first timer. I subscribed. I liked the content.

Cost of labour is too high in USA
Thus the prices
Imagine if Hyundai makes this for the us consumer direct from a dealer ... that would be amazing ( one thing would top it ... if they make an off-roading version lifted suspension, metal bull-bars , lights , wrench ect and the amenities and tech that came with their new sonata and genesis and bring some cool off-road tech exterior look to it ... it would be baller
If they do that ... I have no prob getting one and I feel it would be a hot seller for the overlanding ( off-roading ) community
Yeah i wish Hyundai will decide to export this motorhome to N. America. That would be interesting. Thanks Moflex.
This is my favorite review by far bc it's not a typical car petrol head would review.

That is a great point. Thank you for enjoying the Hyundai camper review.
Very good review, much better than the last one, I think that outdoor storage unit next to the outdoor shower is also known as the Mother-in-Law suite......Thanks again for the review the Porest looks cool.
Yes, hope you guys get this Hyundai Camper soon in N. America.

Yes, Debbie. AWD+more clearance would make this Hyundai Camper a more rugged one! Thanks.
Excellent; thanks for giving me this link. Ultra cool rv.

Please report back here what you learn from the dealer if they plan on selling it in North America.

Why the rear tires are hiding? How to fix them if they are get punctured......
There's a plastic panel you can just take out right in front of the rear tires. Thank you.

If there's an aftermarket racing gauge cluster to replace it that would be awesome. These two little things will prevent sight problem of washout in bright sunlight. how many kilograms is the traction capacity of the hyundai caravan in the video? ie how many kilograms can a trailer tow?
Hyundai just didn't open the toeing capacity for this Hyundai Camper. Sorry, but thanks for watching.

Is the TV LED too?
Thank you
This one, i don't think you can. Thanks Johanna.
I think the tire size increased to 17 or 18 which would raise the entire vehicle and be helpful in and out driveways to avoid the rear of vehicle dragging
But i have driven this motorhome for 2 days, and haven't had any issue with low ground clearance. But larger wheels would be welcomed. Thanks Clifford for tuning in. And if you love cars and car reviews, please do support us by subscribing. Thank you.
hey before this rv coming to the states, consider this, add a hot plate with propaine gas or electric, camera rear mirror, bigger water tank and sewer tank
Will it have electrical and water hook-ups ?
Yes, it's got water and electricity hook ups on this motorhome. Thanks Gyphon Paris. And if you love cars and car reviews, please do support us by subscribing. Thank you.
For what it is, this is pretty awesome. A few more appointments and this could be a good seller in the states.....wonder what kind of MPG it gets?.
Thank you Richard for watching our review on the 1st camping car from Hyundai. And for the MPG, Hyundai isn't giving us any information on that yet. Thanks Richard for tuning in. And if you love cars and car reviews, please do support us by subscribing. Thank you.
Forgot one thing, on the top of the bathroom should have a skylight with fan, again, light is important!!!
Wow YF Liu. i Hope Hyundai folks are taking notes now. Thanks for watching our motorhome review. And if you love cars and car reviews, please do support us by subscribing. Thank you.
Well, it's got a good price point at $41K USD. The interior is pretty nice and functional with lots of room to sleep 4-5 people. Are they thinking of bringing it to the US market?
Yes, this Hyundai Porest is quite functional. Thank you for tuning in. And if you love cars and car reviews, do consider subscribing to our channel, so you don't miss out in the future. Thank you.
