Thanks @flightis3dollars my aim, if i actually had one, was to try and get to 1k in 12 months, so i am a bit ahead of schedule, now for a few tweaks and improvements, i spose i better get my head out my arse and build a 1/35 aswell.
Thanks Juergen, going to try a few different things over the next couple of months, cant keep this roller coaster going on haul videos, whats in the boxes, build updates and completed build videos. The Hetzer the cutest of all the tank destroyers, bit of a contradiction that is LOL.
ah @PanzerChicken69 you have returned, hope you are well. Thanks, now i have to go jump through a bunch of clerical hoops, perform several pirouettes and write a 1st rate symphony all in the hope that the RUclips paymasters will grant my application to join their partner program, on some unspecified future date. wish me luck LOL.
@@TheNoviceModeller I'm fine, thank you :) How are you? Don't worrie about the YT overlords, they would be mad not to partner you up! I watched all your content and you are doing an exellent job in my opinion! I have been working on a 1/32 scale Bf 110 E lately and (45 yrs of trial and error later..) found a perfect way to mask off the splinter pattern with a fethered edge.. So I'm quite pleased atm since building all those German planes was (partially) to devellop new techmiques for masking. So how are you doing with your modelling? Starting to feel a little bit more comfortable yet? I see you replaced the power tools!
Not too bad thanks Martijn, i think i am getting to grips with the basics of this modelling malarkey, i suppose i should try push on with some of the other techniques that are required, but plenty of kits and plenty of time. I may have taken a leaf out of your book and now have a rather interesting collection of 1/72 109's though am looking at this aircraft from a slightly different angle, this has lead me to collect a whole bunch of other interesting and rather obscure aircraft, should hopefully make some interesting future vids, as i have become rather fascinated with the obscure and rarely seen on youtube, whether this a good thing or not who knows?. Not sure what you mean by a "fethered edge" for the splinter pattern but glad you are still discovering new techniques, i suppose you should never stop learning no matter how good you are at something. The power tools LOL they are still under the desk and will no doubt be returning when i dig out some more horror show kits at some point in the future, though i now consider myself to be slightly more refined as i added a fake Dremel a while back. Going to go prime that 110 now, some fool decided to let the viewers decide the colour scheme, not exactly going to plan but nothing ever does on this channel LOL. be seeing you andy
@@TheNoviceModeller If you like unusual and quirky that much, what do you think of the WW1 planes? It doesn't get much more quirky than that! What I mean with a feathered edge is when you look at most camouflaged aircraft, the transition between two colours isn't a straight decarmation but has a faded edge. When using tape for your model the paint builds up against the tape and (at least to me) gets annoyingly obvious, specially where decals are placed on top. So I've experimented with folding my maskingtape... Kinda hard to explain but I will shoot some photo's of the proces and results and email it to you, maybe it will be usefull to you now or in the future. Thanks for your kind words @philjones6054 going to try out a few new features, some new ideas and revisit some old ones over the next few months. I am currently having a blast building kits and making these vids and one of the unexpected positives of this whole RUclips roller coaster ride is engaging with you guys, the viewers; am hoping to try and increase viewer input over the next few months and give you more control over what gets built.
Thanks @griffn14, more of the same and a load of new ideas on the horizon; luckily i work 4 on 4 off, so this allows me the time to do this model making malarkey and RUclips lunacy and still have time over to do all the other stuff we have to do in life.
Nice review Andy of a typically brilliant Tamiya armour model. And with the other 2 kits, an absolute bargain too! Can't go wrong with these, built many over the years, easy to put together and makes a lovely model when finished. Top job mate 👍👊
If you go to Hobby Craft they usually have a half decent selection of Tamiya tanks. But what they do sell are craft items such as plaques and things to use as display bases and artificial grass and shrubs...be fairly easy to rig up a display base cheaply
Hello there @sitcorocket and thanks for watching. Really? there is a Hobby Craft not far from me, didn't realise they did this sort of stuff, obviously need to engage my brain a bit more......hobby+craft=stuff i might need. someone else recently mentioned a basic diorama base for my 1/72 aircraft and have been mulling it over, i will try get over to my local one on my next days off. cheers.
This TD was a try to standardize AT support for infantry late in the war, also if its ergonomy was terrible, some of them remained in service in the Swiss army for some years after the war.
Hello again @alessiodecarolis, the Hetzer is actually one of my favourite bits of German kit, though yes not exactly a fine example of armoured engineering, i understand it was pretty useless if attacked from the sides or the rear, but as a kind of make the best with what we have it was well received and liked by its crews, yep the Swiss had them for a fair few years after the war, i think the Czechs retained it for a bit as well until they started fully using Soviet gear. i might have to build this sooner rather than later as i really liked the winter camo scheme.
@TheNoviceModeller It's even more complicated as Czechs sold few of them into Guinea ( this ex french colony as there are four countries in the world with word Guinea... ) Definitely exotic story of little Hetzer or rather ST-1 as was named in Czechoslovakia.
Thanks @kevinkerlin5603 LOL my collection is out of control, yep 1000 subs, kinda surprising for a "muppet who makes models badly" LOL, think i better go have a beer. cheers.
I like this kit and as fan of Hetzer I build two of them. In my opinion kit is definitely pleasurable to build but loses some advantages when we look at price of very good Academy or Takom Hetzers. Takom also made many various variants of Hetzer. Both competitors also adds photoetched parts while Tamiya requires aftermarket. There is also Dragon which makes some funny variants but this Hetzers are very specific due to extremely poor interior when they have open top.
Hello there @marblehead_1629 and thanks or watching. i am also a bit of a fan of the Hetzer, kinda cute but lethal, thank or info on other manufacturers i may have a go at one of those ater i have built this, but as a novice Tamiya's offer me a relatively "easy" build LOL

Hi Andy, well done for getting to 1k. Who,d a funked it eh ? Well the Hetzer. The 38T family of vehicles is quite interesting. Many variantios starting with the original tank version. Through the Marder versions and minition carriers and Berge versions too. The little Hetzer turned out to be a good little ambush vehicle because of its low silhouette and good 75mm gun. Its size also made it difficult to hit. I might suggest that you put a of those sprues in a bag so that you don,t lose or misplace any more parts. I prefer the link and length tracks myself but the band type are alright if you prefer that route. Good bargain with the others. Can,t wait to see the Panther review. I had the original Panther kit from the 70's and I did a bit of a pig job of it. Luckily I kept it and many years later revisited it and re-done it much better with Zimmerit and some spare parts. It looked much better second time around. Anyway good vid buddy.
Thanks Brian got to the 1000 much quicker than i would have ever thought, currently going through the sign up process, which will take ermmmm no idea..... days-weeks a month? consequently will be decreasing my output slightly until finalised, plus i need to smash a bit of overtime at work to pay for this kit buying addiction, which always limits my output. I have a few vids uploaded and ready to go over the next few days, though i'm afraid i will have to sit on the Panther for a bit, as my intention is to review, compare and build the 3 Tamiya Panther variants i have in sequence, including the moulding from the 70's. ah Yes Zimmerit something else i need to learn LOL.

Not exactly sure that i am running with the big dogs, LOL not even sure what or how the whole RUclips partner program thing works, i very much doubt it will make that much of a big deal financially, as LOL at roughly 500 views per vid i am not likely to have Nike, Adidas or Mercedes banging on my door for advertising space, though if it pays for my paints and glue well that'd be great. As far as my kit collection FML, LOL, PMSL thats a story for another day, fortunately i can work overtime pretty much whenever i want, and working 4 on 4 off means i can work three on the bounce if i want, unfortunately i'd much rather build myself a model kit whilst drinking some random foreign beer.
