Augeri is very good but he doesn't have much control of his voice, the strength and tone he still seems to achieve but it distorts a lot and he can't control it especially when changing verses, but compared to the last few years he has improved a lot, I knew he had a very serious throat problem before leaving Journey in 2006 of almost losing his voice...
He's changed his approach to singing. It's lighter - almost like head voice. But I think it's obvious he still meets with teachers and knows what he's doing. In the early Journey days, he was just approaching every song with chest voice and it led to damage.
