Hello from Oregon. I've been watching your channel for 3 months. I'm 70 years old and just starting to learn Tagalog.I would like to visit the Philippines. Good work. 👍
That's so COOL! I'm 55 and learning MSA (modern standard Arabic) and, re-learning Spanish. Are you finding it more difficult to understand and retain information at your age? MY issue is lack of consistency in my studies AND, getting discouraged at how sloooooow, I am!😓
I love how genuine the conversation is. Ngl, ALL of your languages improving steadily. Thank you, Ryan~. Not just entertaining us but you also teach us a lot!
WOW!! Cindy is sweet, beautiful, cute and great personality. You both compliment each other so well. Go to Medan soon as possible and meet her. Like you said, skin color makes no difference. It's the heart that matters. Absolutely love your videos. Языки так свободном. You are always so kind and warm and nice and encouraging and relaxed with people. Love your heart. Communication skills are off amazing. Of course, you will eventually find out and know, but maybe Cindy is the one for you. Love you man. Keep up the excellent work.
@@RyanHaleYT credit where its due. Your channel has inspired me to learn a language, mostly due to your personality & the effort you put into your own language journey.

Ryan I was happy to hear of the generosity you extended to Hertmann. It's nice to hear stories of kindness between tubers. It send a good message. Keep being you.
I really enjoy the format of Ryan's show. It's fast paced and showcases many people and the interplay that the various languages have on the conversations! I'm 81, and have traveled extensively . . . Even just a few words in a stranger's language can open doors into getting to know other people much better!
Happy birthday a few days early. My stepson is fluent in Russian and Spanish. he has been working on Polish and Kazakh. Same age as you. Love the conversations you have. Always having fun with it. Careless Whisper drop in is so funny.
@ryanhale, I am indonesian and I never understood why people call the Indonesian language "bahasa". Bahasa just means "language". Bahasa Inggris (English), bahasa Cina (Chinese), bahasa Russia (Russian), bahasa Perancis (French). So the correct name of the Indonesian language is Bahasa Indonesia not just "Bahasa". If you ask me "Do you speak Bahasa?" I would say "Bahasa apa?" (What language?)
All the people he speak with are all so young... it's weird, I'm only in my 30s and I miss my 20s, and they weren't that enjoyable either, but I still miss em...
I love the moment in the 2nd to last clip where your brain accidentally swaps to Chinese instead of Russian lol. You know you are a polyglot when that happens 😂
do you know a youtuber whose channel is SonnyWils. he ( Sonny) interacts w/ People on Ome as well. he knows Italian, Espana, Portuguese, Svenska among others
Not really... There's a Comedian named Wonho Chung, his parents can't speak each other's languages... His mother is Vietnamese, and his father is Korean, and he himself speaks Arabic... So not necessarily... but I guess they all speak Arabic to communicate, so communication is key. Although he jokes that his father made the best decision in his life, marrying a woman who he can't understand a word of, so that she can nag and be upset all she wants and he'll be none the wiser.
@@livedandletdie The dangerous part is if you know just a little bit of each other's language because then you just misinterpret their meaning. But also, culture is very important too, probably even more so that language. Expectations can be really difficult. How do I know? I am Australian and I married a Chinese woman 11 years ago, there are definitely challenges other than language.
Your convos are always fun, glad I subscribed, though RUclips has unsubbed me s couple times for some reason, along with a few other language channels! Tis rather annoying! Perhaps you can try your hand at learning some Welsh or Cornish, see how they compare in difficulties compared to Chinese or Russian, or summ't like!
The gentleman really has it, and are quite funny many times the reactions. The majority of the world's population can understand (for better or worse) basic English, but when you converse in someone's mother language, you speak to his soul. Apart from essentially learning the cultural background, it is a particularly useful tool, even for a professional career, to be multilingual. A few years ago I happened to read a short interview with a 50-year-old gentleman. His parents, from his pre-teen years, understood his penchant for foreign languages, due to the fact that they lived in a tourist area of South Crete, having daily contact with foreigners. So they encouraged him to start learning foreign languages, to the point at a younger age, where the brain absorbs better learning, to take lessons in 2 different ones per year. When I read the above-mentioned text, he was the translation manager in Brussels, at the European Union headquarters. What made a negative impression on me, was that his monthly salary was not in six figures. He has diplomas in 22 languages. I don't have the slightest intention of irony, but i hope the social medias, at least for those who have sponsors, are paying better.
I always enjoy watching your videos Ryan, very entertaining. I know 4 languages myself, but im always too lazy to keep learning and improving, for example I understand Japanese and can speak it a bit, but I cant make myself learn how to read and write :D I also feel like im too old to start learning now xD

Yesss a new upload Ryan, love it - you’re a great inspiration I’ve been learning Cantonese - do you think it would be difficult/ confusing to learn mandarin too or easy in the sense Mandarin only has 6 tones compared to Cantonese’s 9?
I've really enjoyed watching Ryan get more comfortable, proficient, and confident in Russian. It's incredibly inspiring to see him progress in his competency.
