Media report it was the disclaimer - the wording lawyers see as meant to cover honest valuers assessments differing by a few percent, 10% being unusual, which he tries to stretch to cover over 30%.

Imagine having a document that supposedly clears your name and not giving it to your lawyers so it could be entered into evidence.

Given how Trump is an utter failure at submitting evidence for _anything_ he claims, this is par for the course.
Because it's just going to be the section of the contract with his accountants showing the "disclaimer" he keeps saying is going to exonerate him. Even though the judge has said multiple times now that isn't valid.

I feel compelled, once again, to point out how much it annoys me when somebody says "Boebert was 'felt up' at a Beetlejuice Musical." because it makes it seem one-sided, like she was some passive party that just so happened to fall in the way of some wandering hands. That woman was going 'hog wild' on her date, not getting felt up.
And yet somehow the Repubs can hold onto the veneer of being the party of family values when they set the example of this behavior being OK to their children and grandchildren. Boebert never graduated high school and now she is taking out her lack of what is considered standard formative experiences in this country out on us all.

Agree with all of Amber's questions regarding random baby #1, as it is probably known to the FBI, or whatever federal agency is _hopefully_ investigating _"why the baby George?"_ because it is genuinely weird, and that's an understatement. 😂
The baby is the child of one of his office staffers, or so the coverage I saw the first day. Why he didn't just say that is beyond me. His actual answer was just creepy!

If the baby DOES belong to one of his staff, is he saying he's gonna marry the staffer? Or is he saying he's gonna get the baby taken from the staffer by CPS so he can swoop in and adopt it? Was it an attempted kidnapping that didn't work because he's so overly-observed nowadays that he can't get away with his crimes? Even as a 'joke', it falls flat. Even better - it IS in evidence, and the judge already ruled it doesn’t say that. When trump continued to insist it cleared him the judge was like - if you’d like to know my opinion on the clause you’re discussing you can reread the opinion from summary judgement - or read it for the first time. Unless I'm mistaken, the 'mystery document' was a disclaimer clause in some of the paperwork. He's been desperate to cling to it. The judge already has seen it and ruled against it.
The disclaimer says that others might find different conclusions than what is reported. It sounds like the sketchiest waiver in the history of waivers. For a comparison:
Like going to skydiving and they nake you sign a form that says the company is not responsible for your death no matter what events occur on the airplane. And then they try to use that to defend themselves when they intentionally removed the parachute from your bag.
I honestly would have loved to see that get denied after he went through all the effort of reading it. Maybe it will help drive the point home for once, but at this point it's doubtful.
He also can't claim "oh......I didn't _really_ mean what I said" after he submitted his tax declarations and loan applications.

I mean you file valuations with your bank and you can appeal a valuation from tax assessors, but it's still you telling them what they should believe and if those numbers aren't the same that you gave out then you're lying to someone the bank or tax assessors and either can be illegal.

I have so many questions about that George Santos thing. Did George Santos strike some kind of Rumpelstiltzkinesque deal with a woman, claiming he could spin straw into gold and then run away with the baby when he couldn't? Did he dress up as a police drop box for unwanted babies and then take off? Did he form a fake adoption agency and take the first baby given to him?
Maybe he did a GoFundMe to help get a lady's adoption papers put through and at the last minute just took the money and got his own baby.

That was my favorite "Amber Says What?" yet.
In Trump's ongoing saga of bad lawyers, someone thought he could just bring a document into court and use it as evidence without submitting it beforehand. Even I know he can't do that, and my law education is watching Legal Eagle occasionally.
To be fair, Legal Eagle does a good job of helping us understand legal stuff.
Also, if you watched Legal Eagle once, you are more qualified than a Trump lawyer.

DJT stands accused of planning an insurrection and support for a rebellious mob in multiple citizen suits. His lawyers are defending his due process rights in those court challenges, but Article 14, Sec. 3 does not require prior conviction of a crime as they allege. These suits are no different than a court challenge to a candidate on a factual basis for being too young and/or not a natural born citizen, (e.g. where an opponent produces a second birth certificate citing the candidate’s birth in a foreign nation).
But who's going to enforce this? That's the damned rub. This will get litigated until dump's funeral. Perhaps beyond.
@@donnavorce8856I agree that enforcement seems unclear, but if we look at precedent set after the Civil War, President Lincoln pardoned all of the soldiers who fought for the Confederacy. So none of them would have been prosecuted for insurrection to prevent their names from being put on the ballots.
It’s the exact same person/committee/whatever in each individual state who approves any name to be put on the ballot.
Ironically, in 2020, these same people who are now arguing that the Secretaries of State/etc have no power to keep trump’s name off, were at that time arguing that the Secretaries of State could completely ignore the voters’ decisions & change or withhold their state’s election results. Of course, hypocrisy means nothing to them, it’s just something to think about.
Any person can bring up a case to try to get him off the ballot. That’s exactly what’s happening in Colorado. I recommend more people in more states bring up cases. If nothing else, mail your Secretary of State and make it clear you don’t want him on the ballot, for the security of our nation.
It’s probably going to end up at the Supreme Court, but the more states and people that push the argument, the better.
@@KatySueWho Not defending Trump but they are correct, sort of. We have no constitutional right to vote for president. The constitution says that the State Legislatures appoint the Electors to the Electoral College from their state. They do not have to hold a general election in order to decide which candidate they will tell the Electors to vote for. That is the main reason that the Electoral College was created because the founding fathers didn't want the presidential election to be a popularity contest. And even then there is no federal law that compels the Electors from each state to actually cast a ballot for the person they are told to, there are laws in some states that do that however but not all. I'm not sure if each state has their own laws that mandate the State Legislatures allow their citizens to vote for president or not or what they say about the Electors from their states but there is not Constitutional Right for the people to vote for president.

Uhm courts don’t work that way. You can’t just whip something iut and say it’s evidence. It has to be submitted and verified and processed. It has to be revived by the judge and defense and prosecutors to be submitted as official evidence. All I know about law is from TV but I freaking know that. Wtf…
