I really enjoy the commentary on these videos. I find it helpful to have you walk through your thought process as you’re rotating and picking fights cause I get so tunnel visioned when I play pvp lol

I'm kinda like you and prefer a build that can punish heavily even if it means that I can get punished myself more. With that in mind my favorite pvp builds are power berserker ones with either hammer or greatsword, I just hit like a truck when the combo goes right. Spellbreaker is probably more reliable but I just am addicted to big clutches. I can't find anyone playing it and explaining their play like you on youtube.

I was struggling trying to find a fun spec to play, your video saved me, yes to warrior!
I main Vindi myself as well, been playing it since EoD launched in pve and started playing pvp this season and had great fun with it, but no invocation is dull, no swiftness and no fury is no fun for me (you can play daredevil and int sigils to make up for fury, kinda).
For me, the problem with GW2 is what you said 8:20, the vast majority of players don't play for fun and don't play builds they have fun with, instead just go for the "best current build" only wanting result, just like bots who have no preference, all of them run the same build, only few people I find play what they enjoy.
Anet should do a better job at managing meta builds, it's not about what class/spec you enjoy anymore, its all about the build. you want to play ranger? take this build, enjoy playing revenant? take this vindi build, what's that? you like herald? will I don't care, we only have one good spec and even one build for this class.
It makes you feel like a damn robot, no freedom, no creativity.
Absolutely. It would make more sense to always play what's meta IF the esports scene was still around or if there's prize money on the line - but there's not.
I think it's always better to play what you find fun and interesting instead of what gets you cheap wins. It'll keep you interested in the game and actually enjoy playing instead of just grinding for rewards.
I'm keeping my rank low on purpose for exactly that reason! Lower ranks mean fewer people who are slaves to the meta and/or are less experienced. So as soon as I reach gold 2 I tend to play a new class/self made build!

There was once a youtuber who used to make off-meta builds that actually worked. He has stopped now because as he said "life moves on". He was one of the weirdest of engie players. He used turrets when no one else did.

You could definitely play hammer with strength. That actually sounds terrifying to play against lol. I'll try that build out later, thanks for the idea!

Noice.. Ultra rare to see Spellbreakers that have Damage. 99% of my Enemy Spellbreakers in Gold-Plat Elo have almost 0 damage at all. They are just fulltanks who solo hold Far 24/7, thats it
I can appreciate the familiarity in warrior while waiting for rev salvation to become obsolete😂. Wvw has it the worst since its just cele salvation vindi, and now salvation herald is slowly creeping into the mix, making for some really boring fights😢.
Ugh it really pains me when people play cele bunkers. I understand that it's viable and strong but it just takes so much of the fun out of it. Such an awesome combat in this game and then it all gets thrown out the window with those builds.

I prefere being hard to kill/ good damage to pressure others/ supprting + healing same time playstyle 😂

What other relics do you recommend on this build? Usually, I take Isgarren with greatsword or antitoxin if enemy is condi heavy. Anyway, great gameplay. 👍👍

Isgarren is a great relic. Nayos is very reliable for the constant healing. Antitoxin as you mentioned is great. Some take daredevil for guaranteed crits. Midnight king can be useful too.
Those are the main ones I'd recommend for this build! I'm open to hear your thoughts too, I'm not the most knowledgeable about warrior!
i would like to see how you play reaper or necro in general? like what makes you say "why play reaper without "x" thing"

why exactly is the current meta for rev devastations salvation?
Devastation gives good damage, salvation gives good survivability.
The issue with playing these two together (and dropping invocation) used to be you'd lack movement speed and you'd be so slow you'd be easy to pick off.
But recently they added a new relic, the Wayfinder relic, that gives any class insane movement speed. This makes Devastation salvation much more appealing.
Some people like the build. It was seen a lot in the latest monthly. I'm not quite sold on it.
You get less fury, less quickness, and no resistance - which is the big downside in my opinion.

@@asatsuki9250 Oops sorry I got confused. The resistance comes from devastation. Hard to keep all these traits and relics and everything straight lol.
Yea Wayfinder is really strong. Necros are zooming around like crazy. Soulbeasts are ridiculously slippery with it. Very strong relic.

Is it still good? Absolutely.
Is devastation + salvation fun to play? Absolutely not lol.
I think the results of the last monthly confirm this. Lots of vindis on NA all running salvation and none of the teams running a vindi did particularly well (no disrespect!).
I've been having better luck on herald lately than vindi. I think my next video I'll talk about the state of Rev and the balance stream
Which armor skins are those?
I believe its all Experimental Envoy armour except for the legs.
The legs are Vigils Honour legs
The cape is the forest scout cape
Dyes are mostly charred and shadow abyss with I think shadow purple on the cape.
You are right about Warrior being a Profession that requires comboing your skills. I never thought of it but you are so correct.
It's so true. Watching good warriors duel is like watching a damn yugioh battle haha they're so methodical in their skill usage.

@homage3 I will take a look when I get the chance. That said, War is one of my favourite classes. Been playing it since GW1. But the build carries me more than I carry it if you get what I mean. And it really is all about the combos.

If you run devastation/salvation, I highly suggest running shortbow instead of hammer. You can then run rune of infiltration (to make up for less fury), and run wayfinder relic. You can also run the fury trait on devastation instead of battle scars if you like. Salvation also gives you cleanse on dodge with is much better than cleanse on legend swam imo.
Because shortbow does more consistent damage compared to hammer it feels a lot better and salvation helps make up for the defensives you lose when you drop hammer. Also shorbow in general is way more fun than hammer in my opinion. If you run hammer I feel like you have to play invocation.

Never been the biggest fan of the shortbow. I personally find that because it has no defensive skills it's good at squashing noobs but gets punished by good players pretty easily. Been a little while since I tried it but I'll give it another go some time.
Ranger rune also ends up with a higher crit chance than infiltration just FYI.
@@homage3oh that's good to know about ranger rune. But ya I see what you are saying about shortbow. I still think dev/inv hammer is meta, but shortbow build is fun mixup that's still solid.
