Pravus learning the hard lesson of why you need a standing army to keep out raiders lol Love the series Pravus!
Why he ignored them is odd. But he'll cry about them ruining his city when armed guards were very simple to get.
I don't write this often enough, Pravus (and most capable wife/editor!), thank you for all the content. You're one of the few creators I've stuck with over the years and I really appreciate your commitment to the channel. That you're able to balance your engineering career with family and the channel is impressive.
I was really excited for this game when Crate announced way back in 2019. Like so many games, it's been in development for so long I've kind of lost interest in playing it, so a playthrough like this is vital for my exposure to the game I'd otherwise pass on. I can only hope Manor Lords does a better job getting out of early access.

There is a thing to be said about medieval city walls: Between the last houses and the actual wall, there always (or at least when possible) a complete and unubstructed road or at least path. So every part of the wall was easily accessible in case of emergency.
In a game like this, I'd try to have a 3 spaces wide pathway - so you can put up towers against the wall, while still having an opening to move troops.
That you can't man the walls and shoot seems like a pretty terrible oversight. Undefended walls are pretty much useless...
I said that too. Why build walls if you aren't using them to defend. A waste of stone. All he does is let them run in with zero resistance anyway.
@@larrylindgren9484 Well... they are sturdy and take a long time to take down. So when you happen to have a standing army, it still can delay the enemy until you come around attacking them with your soldiers.
What I don't understand - why can't you man the walls directly? It seems like an oversight. Or is there a way to upgrade walls to fit them with battlements
The towers should be ok u just gotta switch out your bows for crossbows
I would like to see Pravus playing Song of Syx.

The not being able to mass click is annoying, but I’ve found the easier way is to cycle through the buildings using the arrows where the name of the building is once you’ve clicked one. Especially for hunters/gatherers and quickly resetting work areas too (rather than trying to remember where they are)

Quite a beautiful town you have created here. Maybe finishing your walls and replacing your bows wity crossbows could help you out on defense.

Do you think the archers would be better if they didn't just keep getting hired super fast? Is it they are only carrying a portion of the ammunition they should cause that is all they have time to grab?

i used to play this game and whenever i reach over 500 pop the game gets laggy and almost unplayable hope that got fixed

Why would you think they'd let you build move than 1 overpowered temple. It would be horrible game design. You just keep building them stacking overpower stats. It would be silly.

Shocking you thought towers was all you were going to need. You've played this game for a while. There's a reason they give you troops and weapons you ignored and only built towers. Your armed troops at the gate. Towers guarding it. Problem solved. Or just let the raids run into the city. Why even build walls. You aren't using them to your advantage.
