Im in Florida and had DSL supplied via copper lines. Over the last few years the speed keeps dropping and decided to try Starlink. Its been 5 months and no issues. My dish was mounted on the peak and had to move it during hurricane to a more protected area with cluttered obstructed map but overall its great. Had great connection during hurricane and was able to view all my internet security cameras while the hurricane passed over. Lost cable tv, land line and power but startlink still going strong. Well worth the price
We were in the first 10,000 subscriber group when Starlink Beta was first offered in our area in January 2021. It was a freaking game-changer straight out of the box. No surprise it's so successful.
As another Starlink user on 5 acres, in the middle of nowhere, it has been the best connection I have ever had, and I use to live all over So Call, except last night when a big snow storm knocked out the power for a few hours. The only time I have an issue is if I'm pushing FF & Rew too many times too quickly, but that could be my ROKU box. It is the best, no stress option available. I've never had to call anyone about anything, no junk mail, no sales pitches, nothing. I did have to update the expiration date on my Card. All Pros no Cons. Right now it's gray , ugly, cold and snowing somewhat hard with no signal issues. Great day to sit by the fire and rewatch Flight 6 videos.
I have been watching your channel for 1-2 yrs. Now. I appreciate you sharing all the news about the current tech available, and what is coming next. I also share your channel with many people I talk to that need help with exploring their options for getting better internet connectivity. It’s important because we use the internet for everything now.
5M customers…? That’s an impressive and a record-breaking number. I checked the available maps and waiting area is still very minimum in US. The satellite connection definitely extends much beyond compare to other types. Thanks for the video. P.S. thanks for covering the launch yesterday. That was spectacular. Your channel has great people to hang out with.
We are a couple of months behind you with the Starlink service at our residential home. We have a camper on a permanent site 27 miles from the nearest utility pole. We ordered the RV version for there, because, due to snow and cold, we're only there 6 months out of the year. The best part of having Starlink there is reliable phone service. My husband converted the Starlink to 12v power and it works flawlessly. Thanks for all your Starlink videos. You have been our go to source since we were on the waiting list.
I’m glad they have added the wait list again. They are maintaining the promise to current users by not over saturating the networks. That’s good customer service!! Thanks for the video j!
Please, 9 months wait is nothing, I had to wait 18 months for Starlink and I signed up on the first day. Love the video and watch them often. Of interest, I know a lot of people in Georgia are getting Starlink since the hurricane that hit a month or two ago. They waited weeks to have their land line internet come back up. I live in the country, but they have run a fiber line to my house, they are hooking it up tomorrow. I told my wife we are still keeping Starlink as a backup. We looks power a lot, I told her when the power goes out, we will loose the fiber internet. We have a whole house generator, once it kicks in, we will still have internet because of Starlink.
It is a truly revolutionary product. At the moment I am in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean on a trans ocean cruise watching your video on a Starlink equipped cruise ship (Princess). We have been frequent cruisers for many years and the change to Starlink service is quite the improvement from the Intellisat service we use previously.
Join the waiting list. By the time they get to your order, you'll have a choice of Starlink Smartwatch or Starlink Baseball Cap, no more clunky base stations. 🤪
Australia has also run into some capacity / sold out constraints in Perth, and around Brisbane / Gold Coast. No such issues where I live, in a regional town 200km west of Melbourne, where my new Mini just clocked 276mbs with 20ms latency !
Guess I got lucky. Ordered mine a month ago, got it in 2 weeks. Installed it immediately and loving it. I look forward to the faster satellites coming in the future. But at my location, I'm getting a great for me, 300+ down and 20-30 up.
Thanks for the analysis! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
I had to wait almost a year for mine, ordered just a few months after it was made available. More recently, I had considered discontinuing the service because of the monthly cost. After the hurricanes came thru, I reconsidered and decided to keep it because there is no better connectivity during mass outages. Speaking of which, the current shortage could be due in part to the huge number of units Elon so generously deployed in the disaster areas, and preppers deciding Starlink is a great idea.
Glad I got my starlink Gen 3 standard kit when I did - it has worked flawlessly in the rural area I am currently remote working in. I also use it for work at home in my urban area and honestly thinking about getting rid of my other urban provider.
The local fiber salespersons keeps trying to sell their wares to me on my rural farm. I just laugh, and point to my Starlink dish, and tell them “No thanks, for years I needed service & your company deemed me too unimportant to bother with, but Elon saw the need, and acted. Have a good day, goodbye”.
2 years - me too. 1 year of a “wait list” until I could even send in my deposit. Then 1 more year after I sent in my deposit. Been solid ever since I got it, and I have no other viable options at my location.
I don’t live in a rural area, it’s a suburban area 10 miles from a major urban area. But, I’ve had good service with Starlink, and very few outages. The one thing I do have, is an unobstructed view of the sky! Great for Solar, great for Starlink, and I even have Tmobile Internet for backup. Thanks for keeping me informed on all things Starlink.
Have a question for JCristina… if I want to retire my Gen 2 and buy a Gen3 how will I go about it, without being double billed for 2 services. I’m in South central Illinois. Thank you in advance 🚀📡
Ordered Oct 6 to take on Nov 1 trip. Got an email that it would arrive after we left. Bought one from Best Buy. Then it came Oct 24th. I had two! Had to return Starlink’s and keep Best Buy due to short return policy. Cost me $50 more. After trip, decided to switch roam to residential. We live remote. I made the switch for next month on-line. Will see if it works residential on Nov 26th after being roam first.
Only 9 mos…I waited exactly 2 years from my deposit in 2021 to my 2023 delivery. Even though my property borders the city, I have no high speed options available. Love the Starlink and Hurricane Helene proved its worth in my area of TN.

Starlink is changing the game for internet access, but its rapid growth is starting to show challenges like overcrowding and high costs, which makes it clear that more needs to be done to make it accessible for everyone.
It looks like presently there is about 893 satellites up there still getting into position and not online yet. Even if those are being used just to replace the version 1.0 satellites that should still make a big difference to have those online. Sounds like the DTC satellites are different.. maybe more specific to doing just that..? I have been a bit puzzled by info on that.
Right but I guess what I haven’t been sure about is weather or not those sats still have regular function. Im guessing they do but I have wondered about that a bit….
I think also the replacement cycle of the Satellite is getting more intense. I dont know how long it take from the satellite launch to the satellite starts service.
Thank you for your video. Question. What do we need to buy and from whom to get Starlink on our new motor home. How do we subscribe to the roaming service for a month or two at a time to travel cross country and back. Appreciate you
Assuming I read and understand correctly; is that the roam plan allows for pausing the service. We have a cabin in a rural area that we only go to occasionally. If you hit the timing correctly, you could theoretically use 8 months of service for basically the same as the $120/month plan. I understand that a month begun could be a month charged. But for us right now we barely make it every other month or so. Could you delve into the roam plan more deeply?
the issue is people in london using starlink cos its cool when they have full 1gigabit fibre right to their door. musk should just turn the lifestylers off and leave starlink to people who actually need it
First part of next year Amazon will start up their LEO Satellite service. They will start rolling out to enterprise first. That will allow customers to move to Amazon's service if they choose.
@jcristina no we don't share. I just order and install their standard kits for them since the process isn't as straightforward as it is in the states. We dont have postal codes nor home adresses in the really rural areas

I am happy with Starlink for internet eventhough living urban area. Supporting new technology
Absolutely!! 🚀
Two years running now after waiting being on the list for two. Outstanding service and no limits. Starlink Rocks.
Paid my $99 in October 2021, received my dish in sept 2023. And immediately got it going.

Thanks for the Starlink update. Keep up the great work, enjoy listening to your videos.
Got mine 6 months ago in MALAWi east Africa.. probably my Best buy in recent years..kudos Elon this is the best ISP I have ever used here 🎉
Yeah, the Gen 2 Starlink works very well for us for over a year now, a much better IP service than the other choices for "broadband" in rural Montana.
Australia has also run into some capacity / sold out constraints in Perth, and around Brisbane / Gold Coast.
No such issues where I live, in a regional town 200km west of Melbourne, where my new Mini just clocked 276mbs with 20ms latency !
Thank you again for the insights on these upgrading technologies. That seem to change over night while we sleep.
It is an exciting time.
@jcristina ain't it though.
Love my Starlink here in Boquete, Panama
I waited a year and a half. Definitely worth it tho!
Good things are worth the WAIT!My Gen.1 is 3 years old after a 1 year wait. 👍😎
YES!!!
I’m glad I received mine a few years back, other than a few glitches in the beginning. It has worked great.
Appreciate you, man!
@@onecullen likewise. Thank you for taking the time to be here with me.

I waited 28 days from Beta sign up to receiving my Gen one dish here in Canada. Still working like a charm been down less than 30 min since day one.
That is awesome!

I had to wait over a year, but I'm so glad to have it! Starlink is so much better than DSL!

1st gen well worth the wait n money
Good video. Was apprehensive a year ago about Space X but after watching your videos decided to pull the trigger and purchased the system.
Great to hear! 👍👍👍👍
I was blown away when I saw Starlink at my local Home Depot here in Maine. I assumed sales were down to be able to put inventory on the shelves.
They are cracking them out from their new factory.
My wait was almost 2 years. When it got close to the promised time an email came to say “wait longer” But well worth the wait. Never looked back!
2 years - me too. 1 year of a “wait list” until I could even send in my deposit. Then 1 more year after I sent in my deposit. Been solid ever since I got it, and I have no other viable options at my location.
i had just as long a wait for my gen 2 starlink dish as you it was worth it

Nice update on this, thank you 👊
In Canada I waited 11 months for my Gen 2 but was well worth the wait. Getting great download speed and great connectivity.
I’m with ya.
I much prefer paying Starlink than the other fiber and cable companies.
5M Subs >500 Million/Month Revenue!
Bring it on....sounds great.
Thanks.
Thank you for being here.
Thanks Joe
A good backup internet in case things go down locally or regionally for long periods.
I had to wait 13 months for mine. I have been enjoying it ever since I finally received it.
Have a question for JCristina… if I want to retire my Gen 2 and buy a Gen3 how will I go about it, without being double billed for 2 services. I’m in South central Illinois. Thank you in advance 🚀📡
Great coverage.👏👍
👍👍👍

I'm Surprised !
Thanks again!

Yes informative and entertaining.

When did the POP change happen for you? I remember you mentioning Georgia for so long now that the change in POP came as a surprise. Haha.
They have e-node B’s on board which turn the satellite into a cell tower in space without getting technical.
Right but I guess what I haven’t been sure about is weather or not those sats still have regular function. Im guessing they do but I have wondered about that a bit….
9 months? You where lucky. I waited 2 years and then Starlink screwed up my order and I had to wait another 3 months.
😅 Ouch
I got Starlink as a backup if systems go down. I have a roaming plan, so I can use it on the move.
You said I must put a 💩 emoji 😂😂😂

I'm glad I got mine when I did. 😎😁

In the UK last year got mine in 2 days
Congrats.
Loving it.
Reminds me of the old days when I signed up for Starlink several years ago. It took me 9 months to get mine.😂
Great diverse content. Thank you👍
💪🏻 thank you.

You are very welcome! Truly appreciate your kindness and support..
This is a big reason why starship needs to come online to start delivering the larger satellites
317.41 Mbps down, 23.20 Mbps up, 17ms .... speeds are still holding good.

Yeah, I seen a cell about 20 miles from me north that was not even on the waitlist it said oversubscribe
Wow!
Waiting list again? Wha???? I waited about 9/10 months also, never looking back!

Appreciate you
Simply goto Starlink.com and purchase a new system under the ROAM TAB at the top..
Thanks
🚀 Thank you for the kind support... Blessings
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it.🚀🚀
Assuming I read and understand correctly; is that the roam plan allows for pausing the service.
Not SOLD OUT or waiting list here in Ontario Canada. A couple of weeks shipping or you can pick them up locally at Best Buy or Home Depot.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'll be waiting 18 months for the mobile phone reception
👍🏻
5 million customers worldwide. Not as many as one would think.
Hello J took a year on the list up by Gainesville.
Yikes! Glad you were able to get it.
the issue is people in london using starlink cos its cool when they have full 1gigabit fibre right to their door. musk should just turn the lifestylers off and leave starlink to people who actually need it
I just bought a standard unit from home Depot in AZ. How is it on backorder? Am I missing something here?
First part of next year Amazon will start up their LEO Satellite service. They will start rolling out to enterprise first. That will allow customers to move to Amazon's service if they choose.
So I assume , if you have starlink already and you wanna add another one , you have to be on the waiting list?
Only waitlisted in some areas. In most of the US, it's available. A large section of the PNW is waitlisted along I-5, looks like.
🎉you said it… really, really good 🎉 though… Thanks for the Great information. Very insightful…Thanks
I’m glad you found it helpful! 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
Since i got mine in Jamaica this september I've ordered and installed 4 more for my neighbors... speeds are never below 200mbps with 25-30 latency
That's amazing! You're really making a difference in your community but I'm guessing SpaceX would not like the sharing part.. 🚀🚀🚀
@jcristina no we don't share. I just order and install their standard kits for them since the process isn't as straightforward as it is in the states. We dont have postal codes nor home adresses in the really rural areas
Do you think that’s why my speeds are getting slower. what do you think? Watch your videos all the time thanks again.
I’ve noticed mine is getting slower and my latency is in the high 20s
I would not doubt it.. If you are in an area that is not 'SOLD OUT' but is getting close, your connect speeds may be affected during peek hours.
@@jcristinaAt whom are you peeking?
Star link saves the cost of satellite TV and internet, and landline phone service. Basically from 350 per month to $120 per month.
