The 2016 cars is faster in qualifying than both the V10s fastests laps and the V10s quali laps on all tracks with no layout changes. Not on Monza though since the kerbs are much higher now and they can't drive straight over them. Now the 2016 cars racepace just need to be as quick, hopefully that happens next year!
This year pole lap was 1:21.135 2004 pole lap was 1:20.089. 2003 pole lap was 1:20.963. So if the kerbs wasn't as high this year and the 2016 cars would have been able to drive straight over them as they could back then, then they would have been faster. Just as they are on all other tracks with no layout changes.
The F1 cars are faster today, the qualifying laps are around half a second faster than the V10s pole laps and fastest laps during the race (in 2004 the fastest laps during the race was sometimes faster than the qualifying laps they did), but during the race today the fuel flow limit of 100 kgs limits them. Luckily that has been removed for 2017.
Mainly due to safety as well... If they didn't make any changes from 2004 onwards (which was the faster year of F1), we would now be seeing incredibly fast and dangerous F1 cars like never before. Oh well... Shit happens haha
schumacher barely licks the grass or gravel on every corner, does it mean he was pushing the limits harder or something else related to grip? it seems hamilton drives less risky
I love it when I see people arguing about the sound of F1 cars. Let's be realistic, no one would choose the sound of the 2015 Mercedes over the 2003 Ferrari. You'd have to be incredibly biased towards the new cars to think that. I was lucky enough to hear the 2003 car with my own ears in the United States grandprix. That was one hell of a race.
hasn't the track changed? dosent that make this comparison.......uh not totally accurate. like the first chicane is much more hard right and left now. you have to allow down more. weren't they trying to make it slower so they couldn't just go over the curbs?
Cliff Lee youre right , curbs in the 1st and 2nd chicane are much higher nowadays than in 2003 , means they cannot attack the corners like michael did there.
2017 f1 v6 1.6 liter turbo engine kicks out approx 650 ponies, plus electric hybrid 180+ hp, and plus DRS unit, using wider tires make it faster at the turns than ever, but the car is 1500 lbs today which is 200 pounds heavier then 2004 v10 car. as a result, guess which car is faster at monza and suzuka lap?
Still no comparison. A lot of people seem to forget the 03-04 f1 cars had race fuel onboard. At least 15 laps of fuel is a lifetime against a car with single lap fuel!
funny the mercedes is a better car hmm only people that have no idea say this every time they see this. put the driver from the ferrari in that mercedes an you see how slow the drivers today are
EST 95 already said it. 2003 cars were way more awesome because F1 was not that restricted. I`m not talking about pure specifications. Even Mid 80`s were way more awesome. Just for the fact that they used 1.5L v6 turbo engines similar to today and boosted them up to 1400hp without any ers or whatever. The chassis, aero and suspension were way worse than today. That were cars for real man with balls and not such shit fuel safing today and only blow flowers out of the exhaust shit
BRO, TELL ME HOW THE V6 MERCEDES FROM 2016 CAN HAVE 950 HP, WITH THE ERS ONLY LASTING FOR 30 SECONDS? THE 950 HP NUMBER IS NOT REAL, THE REAL NUMBERS ARE 700/750HP FROM THE COMBUSTION ENGINE AND 100 FROM THE ERS, SO YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID, AND ARENT SLOWER BECAUSE OF THE RESTRICTION IN NUMBRE OF ENGINES PER SEASON, YOU DEFINETLY FORGOT ABOUT THE DOWNFORCE OF THE 2003 CARS, THEY HAD A LOT MORE DOWNFORCE THAN THE ACTUAL CARS, EVEN RUNNING WITH A TINY REAR WING, AND YOU SHOULD LOOK AT THE CORNERING SPEEDS, COMPARE THEM AND YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE IS THERE, THEY HAD AT LEAST 100KG LESS MINIMUM WEIGHT, A 20000RPM LIMIT, AND THE LESS POWERFULL V10 ENGINE FROM THAT TIME WAS 930HP ADN THE MOST POWERFUL ENGINES WERE 950/1000HP FROM MERCEDES AND FERRARI, SO THE WHOLE ARGUMENT YOU PUT HERE IS GONE
last corner looks like there's no need to break, why are they breaking? i know modern f1 are nerfed in downforce and weight, but why was schumachger breaking?
the parabolica is a tricky corner, if you don't break into the first section, then you'll miss the apex of the corner, and the 2nd section will have you carrying too much speed and you'll go off.
3 Seconds faster...without DRS and ERS. Or over 5 Seconds in Qualifying. Embarrassing how the F1 is Today. If You have the V10 with Aerodynamic from today, that would've be awesome. But noo F1 is going into the Ground or already is with the Stupid V6 Vacuum Cleaner.
dEsTr0yEr 1911 the aerodynamic is worse (that from 2014) about the power, the V6s are limited. If they leave this thing, they will be so so much faster.
Yeah but FIA is so stupid to don't realize that... We have Formula E what is an interesting Point and they deliver good Racing. But F1 should not be like that...
I'd be curious for comparison between the 2003 Ferrari and the 2020 Mercedes. 2015 were the Bernie days, when cars regressed un speed and raced in boring circuits, all for the sake of money. Thank Goddess that ancient midget is gone
The Ferrari V10 man what sound.. wow.. great upload mate cheers
Arjun Ganapathy 2003 was a v12 right?
R SVL Hey man thats ur opinion u like the V12's I like the V10's Both Sound amazing way better than what we have today.
V12 Suspend Since 1995
1996 Use V10+Traction Control
The cars were so much lighter and faster back then
100kg heavier and that is actually where a lot of the speed difference is between the V10 cars - every 10kg is 0.3 seconds
Not on Monza what?
They went around faster on Monza than what the V10s would do if they drove the same layout.
This year pole lap was 1:21.135
2004 pole lap was 1:20.089.
2003 pole lap was 1:20.963.
So if the kerbs wasn't as high this year and the 2016 cars would have been able to drive straight over them as they could back then, then they would have been faster. Just as they are on all other tracks with no layout changes.
The best Michael Shumager forever
Most of cars get faster every generation to generation. Moto gp has increase the engine capacity. Why the fuck f1 getting slower
+Antonius Andi MotoGp bikes are slower...certainly on the new tires and standardized ECU systems.
+Themayseffect Not really some places the tyres are way slower but in others new lap records have been broken.
Tommi Ivalo every race this year has been slower than 2014.
mucha diferencia de coches
Damn that sound...eargasm lol
Schumacher is god and Hamilton is his Son. Michael is so cool and Hamilton is very cool
schumacher barely licks the grass or gravel on every corner, does it mean he was pushing the limits harder or something else related to grip? it seems hamilton drives less risky
Umut Tunca Özbakır ferrari likes to take risk more than german teams. afaik enzo himself said that
@@RFi731 but this german take risk more than a german team. It is because he drove an italian team

the chicanes today are longer so it takes more time for the cars to get round. therefor schumis time has a slight edge
It's fair considering the fact Hamilton has DRS and ERS. So no complaining.
mic u best in my heart
for me its not comparable : car with v10 engine and 15kg of fuel with all assist vs v6 engine 100kg of fuel with no assist....
***** wow drs is active only in straighline and the ers boost 6% the car hahaha
funny the mercedes is a better car hmm only people that have no idea say this every time they see this. put the driver from the ferrari in that mercedes an you see how slow the drivers today are

DRS and ERS are assists. I don't know what you're talking about. Hamilton using DRS shaves about a second or two off his laptime when he uses it.
last corner looks like there's no need to break, why are they breaking? i know modern f1 are nerfed in downforce and weight, but why was schumachger breaking?
there is nees to use brake otherwise they will run wide and crash.
the parabolica is a tricky corner, if you don't break into the first section, then you'll miss the apex of the corner, and the 2nd section will have you carrying too much speed and you'll go off.
Obviously because he didn't have the skills you have!!! lmao...giuliano torres...
Schumachers 6th Gear is longer than Hamiltons 7th. Schumacher shift at 330Kmh from 6th to 7th. While Hamiltons 8 Gear is near on the Limit xD
Schumacher couldn't drive manual, his car is auto, that's why it's a longer gear
I Shot Your Pet Bee I see... Your a smart one ; )
I Shot Your Pet Bee haha what a joke you have no idea sorry that you are too young and want to hate o poor boy
One is a fast lap, one is like watching Michael Jordan dunk from the free throw line.
Real car vs videogame
The best in history vs a guy

Really those engines are even faster... for sure A LOT faster than V8s.
+MrMikpik Give the V10 DRS, KERS and the Aerodynamic from today... And they will destroy everything.
dEsTr0yEr 1911 the aerodynamic is worse (that from 2014) about the power, the V6s are limited. If they leave this thing, they will be so so much faster.

+dEsTr0yEr 1911 this was qualifying.
v10 vs v8
Woow, faster ferrari than mclaren
V10 eating a vacuum cleaner.
LoL the vacuum cleaner just set the fastest lap ever on monza
Schummi the best of the best of all time + 6 month
better driver + better car = better time
More like better driver + better car + better time = perfection
True because Hamilton just did the fastest lap on Monza
Better driver + car = better time
two of the best drivers of all time
Eduardo Melo vettel?,alonso?,max? Are better than hamilton
Antonis Verigos You know what’s up I wouldn’t put Hamilton in the top 10 for 2018, he just had a good car and a lot of luck!
Schumacher: Sem Drs (gênio)
Luís Amilton: Com DRS. (um bom piloto em um foguete).
one of the best drivers ( Michael ) and a pushed puppet
SuperGodzilla99 shut up
Il video è un po fasullo, in rettilineo il turbo dovrebbe recuperare e invece perde ulteriormente! !!
Hamilton best
Not at Monza. At Monza, Michael was always the king.
Rumi Chowdhury
Yeahhhh
@@nephenthal7275 Maybe true but Montoya had the reccord of the fastest lap at Monza untill Kimi.
I'd be curious for comparison between the 2003 Ferrari and the 2020 Mercedes. 2015 were the Bernie days, when cars regressed un speed and raced in boring circuits, all for the sake of money. Thank Goddess that ancient midget is gone
3.0L V10 vs 1.6L V6 .......and modified corners to prevent cutting....pointless comparison
schumacher should be even faster in his new 600kg lighter wheelchair
Michael Schumacher was the only subhuman. He treated other drivers like crap and crash them out of races on purpose. He was a crappy sportsman.
Schumy car's is more difficult to drive and he is more faster than Hamilton! Hamilton can be 100 victories, 110, but never will be Schumy!
