No way, not when games like Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry exist. SO4 is flashy and fun for a JRPG but just like Tales, it revolves around skill spamming.
@@corruptedsmile5574 Not in Hack n' Slash games like Bayonetta/ Ninja Gaiden/ DMC/ Wonderful 101. Only in action Japanese RPGs is skill spamming prevalent, barring Diablo style games. Even then, there are games like Nioh where skill spamming will get you killed.
@@etiennelatour3435 tales isn't skill spamming. you aren't even allowed to use the same skill or even type of skill in a row in most of them. 3 year old comment on a video with 2 views head ass.
@XGiftedGamerX You level up Chain Combo and then you can equip up to 6 different abilities. If you get 100% battle trophies for a character he gets an additional 3 CP too. Chaining combos like he is isn't particularly easy either...
i remember playing the 3rd on ps2, and i saw this was released to ps3 and such and i didnt have a ps3 than years later they released a remasterd version pc but its 64 bit and i cant play it.. fuck im so sad
in the ship, there's a a free training option in the Virtual room.. its upstairs, on the otherside of the ship, opposite the rooms.. xD i know its waaaaay too late, but i hope this still helps

@aode18 lol yeah most of my battles consist of a constant white flash and me just spamming buttons cuz I can't even see whats going on anyway lol. Great game tho. Wandering Dungeon was a little easier than I was expecting.

Apparently the original devs if this series are people who broke off from the tale series after Phantasia?!?! Holy fuck have I been missing out!
Tales of Phantasia was developed by Wolf Team This team was break off and some stuff make game continue Tales of Phantasia, but some stuff was fired and found cooperation tri-Ace. Star Ocean was developed these tri-Ace stuff Tales of Phantasia was called code name "Tale Phantasia". These developer version of game was similar "Star Ocean". but Namco (Bandai-Namco) was claimed this version and changed to Tales of Phantasia we know. Some Wolf Team member was very angry that these huge game change Tales of Phantasia and Star Ocean have same root one. So these two game is very similar.

@narutostarfire you're not making any sense... if you like the fighting game in this then just play it... it's perfect as an rpg... the story etc is the only thing that realy seperates it... and you might as well have an a story instead of none at all... especially when the story is as good as it is... i always thought an mmorpg like star ocean would be awesome.

Isn't there a Training mode on the Ship where you can select "Free Train"? Pretty sure there is something like that...

have no 360 so I'm excited for it to come to the ps3 its going to be my first star ocean game :D
Yeah I eventually figured that out QQ but the cave of seven stars enemies have enough health that I can just mess around with combos

As much as these are pretty good combos, this game uses so much light in stuff it's kinda hard to see what's going on
